This is relevant to the Rebel character I'm making.
How does the Rebellion handle capital punishment? Considering that even our modern militaries- which have some pretty decent background check/psych-exam procedures -still let the occasional rapist/murderer/deranged fellow slip the cracks, it seems inevitable that a organization like the Rebellion, whhich recruits hundreds if not thousands of personnel in a fast-and-loose manner from every aspect of Galactic society, is going to have its share of bad apples. There's probably quite a lot of people who have an axe to grind with the Empire but aren't exactly good folks themselves.
Question is, what do they do with them? Let's say you have a Rebel member who was caught during a combat-mission gunning down a civilian and stealing her jewelry. Well, the Rebellion doesn't have a "jail" so you can't imprison him, and simply kicking him out the organization is asking for the guy to tell everything he knows about the Rebellion to your enemies.
Simply executing him is probably the most practical solution, but that seems a little dark for the Rebellion.
Anyway, any thoughts?
