I just have a few... make that alot of questions.
  1. How long in real life is one year in the RP universe?
  2. Can characters switch factions later on?
  3. How old do most characters start training for any one faction?
  4. How old are the force sensitive kids usually captured by the dark jedi?
  5. What is a good planet to start in if you want your character(s) to be captured by the bad guys? ... lol

That's all I can think of for now though I may think up some more..... anyhow, the reason is I'm thinking of creating two different characters who are best friends. They are captured by the Brogan folks and while one loves the whole thing... the other doesn't really fit and yeah... I won't go into more detail though if someone wants... I'll explain it more.

I'm feeling pretty lazy right now, so I'll just point out one thing.

There's no Sith in this timeline. There's the Dark Jedi of the Bogan, but they don't tend to go after kids (even though I'm fairly certain being a pedophile would be something a Dark Jedi would do rather than a Light Jedi).

1. We don't really have any official timescale. A good rule to use though, is to age your character everytime they accomplish something significant. EG, they finish training, they fight in a battle, etc.

2. Oh, totally. That's half the fun!

3. For force sensitives, very young. But training takes a long time IC, so it balances out.

4. Well, there are no sith, but again, very young.

5. I'd recommend anything in the outer rim territories. (If you don't know them, just google star wars galaxy map)

So is it good to start in mid training or something like that? And how old would you recommend my character start as? Also... doesn't that get confusing? for the age thingy.

It's not hard to adjust your age in your profile.

I'd say pick an age you want to be. Perhaps like 15-20 (assume you went through the basic trainings. Most trainings on this site is seeing if you can perform simple tasks, for the Bogan it's darkside powers combined with core powers (push/pull, jump, etc) After you complete that training age your character to 20-30.

I know, I just thought it'd be confusing since we're in this strange year so to be in present time, training would have to be flashbackish.

And thanks Vindicator. :D

Anytime.

Just look at a few profiles of people who are Jedi Knights. I wouldn't suggest any of mine because i haven't updated them in a Fort Night.

Basically write your history up to the point of training. You can say how you were picked up by a random NPC on your homeworld and took you to Ando Prime (The Bogan Temple) and began your basic trainings in the Force. Then go to the Bogan Faction sub-forum and sign-up for the faction with said character, they'll look over your profile and offer suggestions to make it better or approve you. From there you get a trainer, and you can start writing the rest of your characters history/biography.

Any other questions feel free to PM me, I'm around all night for most part.

Thanks... I wonder though, could a Brogan later switch to Jedi or something?

Yep! If he/she had a good reason, or was convinced to do so, absolutely. Hell, he or she could later switch back, or leave force based organisations entirely, and just rofl around solo.

There aren't rules regarding what your character does, really. If it's feasible in real life, then you can write it here, too.

I highly doubt a Bogan can switch to the Jedi, then expected to be welcomed back to the Bogan. Unless it was a plan the Bogan had. Same way if the user started with the Jedi.

I don't know a lot of jedi that are sent into the dark side for some plot though.

I'm not sure. The Bogan might not welcome them with open arms, but if a Jedi fell, then was saved, the Jedi would take them. They might be wary of them, but they'd take them.

People have different styles of making their profiles. As far as I am aware - as long as it fits minimum word requirements, do what you want.

My character Caed was son to the Grandmaster of the Jedi, his mother left for Bogan and he joined her there. Has since left the Bogan and is an independent trying to get into the Jedi, just revealed the Bogan location to the Jedi actually and trying to get in. No sure way he's in, but he might be a Jedi once again.

Nothings impossible

Yes, althought it would be easier to do it the other way around (First Jedi, then Bogan. Thats how it goes, usually)

As far as the profile layout, we have a few templates here, but really you can have it in any format that you desire. The goal, really, is to give the reader a sense of who your character really is, and a history of their life.

But don't be limited by what you've seen other people do, try something new and exciting!
