Quils Kugen is a self-styled Jedi playboy. When around women of various species whom he deems attractive he cannot help but attempt to gain their attention and possibly affection. This is not to say he is callous but simply that he has a heart that he feels he should share. He is an optimist and tends to always have an upside ready for almost any dilemma. There are times when his appearance gets the better of him and he becomes a victim of his own vanity.

Despite all of this his is a kind soul. At many points of his life he has found himself in tough situations all because of philanthropic tendencies. Quils is more likely to place himself in a bad position simply to alleviate the troubles of others. Allies of his tend to stay that way and have his unwavering loyalty and trust.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born and raised mostly on Hapes, Quils was the son of wealthy art dealer Doson Kugen and Lena Kress the fashion model. Almost every waking moment of his life was either in the presence of his father's clientèle and various styles of art, or with his mother at fashion shows watching the latest styles of the Hapan culture. The young man grew up around the beauty of people and paintings. He grasped almost all of his emotions through the artistic expressions of others. Love, sorrow, joy, fear, rage and envy. All of these he came to recognize and understand in a way that pleased the eye.

As the boy grew it became clear that he was developing into a very attractive man. At this point his mother had retired from the runaway and instead began to design clothes herself. The opportunity to use her son as an exclusive male model was too great to resist and she began dragging him to every one of her shows. It was then that he began to spiral emotionally. He found himself losing touch with many of the emotions he had developed through art and began to vainly see himself as a living masterpiece.

Women soon became objects to him in his teenage life as they came and went. The strain of his career was beginning to eat away at who he was and Lena, his mother, saw this. Her love for her son was eventually what killed his career. Within a year she had dismantled her business and sold it off in pieces, retiring completely from the fashion mainstream and acquiescing to become a mere footnote in its history. At Lena's urging Doson invited Quils to work with him at the art gallery as an assistant.

There he once again became in tune with his emotions and Quils found himself becoming partial to the more uplifting displays of the gallery. Happiness found him and held tightly for a fleeting moment. He even fell in love, though it was one sided, with a brilliant young artist who worked only with scrap metal and and depleted energy cells. The sculptures she created were inspiring and quite often monuments to the Jedi. Whenever he had inquired about it she said that she saw her sculptures in her dreams the night before she'd begun working on them.

While finding it odd, Quils was enamored more by her response. The sculptures became an obsession to him and he found himself memorizing every piece of metal and scrap of her more popular pieces. He had reached the point where he'd understood her work so much that he was able to dream up what she would come up with next. He saw a tall statue holding a sharp blade up high to the sky, but there was something off about it. In the dream he could see one of the knees buckle and the entire sculpture came crashing down.

Sure enough the next week found the gallery hosting a large statue identical to what he had seen in his dream. While studying it he noticed the same buckle in the leg, but it was faster than he had seen. Too fast for him to react. The sculpture toppled towards him, the blade holding hand guiding a sharp edge towards Quils. As he rolled to the side to avoid it a sharp, excruciating pain radiated from his left arm just as the mountain of metal crashed into the ground. Quils was rendered unconscious.

Was it death that had taken him? He didn't know. Quils saw all manner of things after the sculpture had fallen. His life played out before him, the future he wanted and other strange things.

After a few days sleeping Quils awoke. The sound of medical devices and hushed voices was the first thing he encountered before his eyelids could peel themselves apart. There waiting at his bedside was his family and another person whom he had never seen before. Lena seemed devastated while Doson attempted to be strong for his son. The stranger had a serene look on his face but concern in his eyes. Quils tried to sit up but found he could not, his left arm seemed to do nothing. Because it was gone.

When the statue fell the blade it held had severed his arm above the elbow. The wound was very ragged, making reattachment of the limb an invalid option. Initially Quils was silent and refused to even look at anyone. Sure he could get a prosthetic replacement but it would never be his arm. He remained at the hospital for a week while a prosthetic was made. During that time his parents and the stranger seemed to have many private talks outside his door. More than a few times Quils heard his own name.

The stranger was Lerr Kenn, a Jedi Knight. Apparently he was on a search for a runaway Padawan. His search led him to Doson's art gallery and it was there that he discovered young Quils pinned under scrap metal and bleeding. Using his training the Jedi moved the refuse quickly and stopped the bleeding by cauterizing the wound with his lightsaber. He felt responsible for Quils' need for a prosthetic and wanted to see the young man's recovery.

On the last day of his hospital stay Quils had a private conversation with Lerr Kenn. The Jedi Knight expressed his fault towards the current stat of Quils' arm. And though he hadn't had time to process and adjust, he forgave Lerr and thanked him. Quils began asking Lerr about the Jedi and why he was there at the art gallery. In sharing his own story the Jedi who quickly deduced that the artist and the Padawan he was seeking were one in the same. Lerr's search ended when the young woman came to visit Quils after hearing of his accident.

After some discussion it was decided that Lerr Kenn would return to the Order with the Padawan and Quils. The idea was to treat the young man with the Force in hopes of expediting his recovery. After some words with his parents he was off to Coruscant.

Among The Jedi

What was supposed to be a medical stay turned into something more. While there on Coruscant Lerr Kenn revealed to Quils that he was quite possibly a Force sensitive. Within the walls of the Jedi Order they tested the young man. Eventually they came to the conclusion that indeed the Force was strong with him. Lerr Kenn actually offered to train Quils alongside the artist whose name was Meran.

Accepting the offer Quils soon began his tutelage under Lerr Kenn. Before learning to use the Force, Quils was first taught the Philosophies of the Jedi as well as a brief overview of their history. He was intrigued by the history, especially the small chunks of lore he'd picked up from independent study. There was so much to the Jedi than just what he'd heard from rumors.

Quils became a frequent resident of the Jedi archives studying as much as he could. He was introduced to the basics of lightsaber combat with the style of Shii-Cho before venturing down the path of Ataru. He even constructed a simple lightsaber before Lerr Kenn took on Meran as his only apprentice, leaving Quils to find a new mentor.

Taken

A short time after coming under the guidance of a Jedi Knight, Quils was abducted by an enterprising bounty hunter. A fan from his days as a model had put a contract out to acquire him as a trophy. Quils never saw who the bounty hunter or client was. The days he spent in captivity were a blur as he was kept restrained by a neuro-collar and drugged with death sticks to keep his Force abilities suppressed. Each moment is a vague passing memory.

Some time passed before he was rescued by his former Master, Lerr Kenn, and returned to the order where he was treated and rehabilitated. That made it twice that Quils' life had been saved by the Knight.

Return

To reduce the chance of a repeat performance Lerr took Quils to train in seclusion. Lerr focused on tempering the padawan's combat skills as well as his senses before returning him to Tython to be reunited with his master. Force Empathy would have to be honed elsewhere. But upon completing traoning Quils was knighted.

I have modified the Force powers section to simply have a description of what he knows rather than a list. I have also included his prosthetic into Gear as well as distinguishing marks.
