NAME: Sanayana
FACTION: Sith
RANK: Master. Follows the path of the Sith Alchemist
SPECIES: Human
AGE: Twenty Six
GENDER: Female
HEIGHT: 5 feet 6 inches
WEIGHT: 120 pounds
EYES: Violet
HAIR: Blue and grey streaks
SKIN: White
CREDITS: ???
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Her eyes are like pools of blood, and she has strange, arcane blue tattoos all over her body.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTH: |||||||||| Sanayana has been strengthened by the experiment she has carried out on herself, and the power of the Dark Side.
DEXTERITY: |||||||||| Above average
CONSTITUTION: |||||||||| Very hardy
INTELLIGENCE: |||||||||| Sanayana's intelligence is one of her greatest strengths
WISDOM: |||||||||| Tremendous strength of will , cunning and a good judge of character
CHARISMA: |||||||||| Her personality and demeanour are very unsettling to non-Sith
||||||||||Sith are less concerned

SKILLS:
Sanayana is quite simply a brilliant scientist, albeit a mad one. She is a superlative biologist, brilliant with materials sciences, a razor-sharp intellect and incredibly rapid learner. Her library of Sith alchemical techniques is amongst the greatest in the Galaxy, and she is at the top of that specialisation of Sith Sorecery. She is also an extremely skilled swordfighter, self-taught through Sith holocrons.

LIGHTSABER/SWORD FORMS:

Djem-So - ||||||||||
Jar'Kai - ||||||||||

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Weaknesses : Sanayana is insane. She doesn't plan ahead outside of her research interests, and helps other Sith in their plans on a whim, not thinking about what would happen to herself if the Jedi destroy the Sith.

Strengths: A brilliant scientist in any field she turns her hand to - physics, chemistry, biology. She learns skills rapidly when desired, and has learnt lightsaber/sword combat to a very high degree from Sith holocrons.

GEAR: Carries a longsword of black Sith steel carved with runes. The sword is impregnated with Sith alchemical products, and constantly weeps an extremely powerful poison, though one that, due to self-experimentation, Sanayana herself is immune to. The steel of the blade is infused with the Dark Side and immune to lightsaber strikes.
She also carries a short-handled lightsaber with a purple beam, the hilt of which is laced with cortosis, and which has been attuned to her.
Wears a suit of Sithsteel mesh - light but highly resistant to lightsaber strikes.
Other gear as necessary.

SHIP: The Dark Seeker.

darkseeker.jpg

The Dark Seeker is of a design not seen in recent years, as it stood idle on Purgatory for decades, even centuries, until Sanayana found it and began upgrading it. A medium-sized vessel, it is surprisingly lightly armed. It is, however, equipped with very powerful engines, enabling it to outrun all but the fastest fighters. Moreover, the ship is equipped with stealth systems, both Imperial and those of Sanayana's own devising, making it all but impossible to detect except visually unless at high speed, and even visually it is difficult to spot in the blackness of space.

The ship has small crew quarters, even for Sanayana, and only modest onboard facilities, though it does have a large workshop and medical laboratory ... It's main feature is the huge internal area devoted to the storage and transportation of living specimens of all shapes and sizes - quite simply, the Dark Seeker is how Sanayana goes about bringing back research subjects for her experiments. To that end, its containment cells can hold anything up to an angry Greater Krayt Dragon - if it can be brought aboard - or double as cold storage facilities if the specimen died during transportation.

PETS: The Firebeast.

thefirebeast.jpg

This product of ancient Sith alchemy has attached itself to Sanayana and is undyingly loyal. Like a Terentatek, but taller (5 metres) and more powerful, this unique creature is resistant (though not entirely invulnerable) to energy weapons, and is at least semi-intelligent. It is tremendously strong and lightning-fast, with claws that can shred a war-droid like paper, and keen senses.

PLANET: Purgatory

purgatoryt.jpg

The planet Sanayana refers to as Purgatory lies to Galactic North of Tangrene, in the black belt seemingly all but devoid of stars. It is almost impossible to reach unless one knows the coordinates – and Sanayana never reveals them. In fact she never travels there directly, but makes a series of jumps to ensure she isn’t being followed, in order to safeguard her secret lair. On the ground, in the city of which she is now the sole human inhabitant, packs of Firebeasts now roam. Their great leader, however, waits in the heart of the city for its Mistress’ return.

DROIDS: The Collector and The Cultivator

droidsw.jpg

Collector is a huge, powerful droid designed to restrain captives during transport to the study theatre for vivisection. Capable of carrying a Bull Rancor, Collector is forged from Sanayana's own Sith-steel formula, and is equipped with huge clawed arms powerful enough to carry a quiescent victim. It also has a number of syringes for the injection of sedatives and the like, and a database of chemicals and how effective they are against different species.

Cultivator is a man-sized droid solely used to harvest cell cultures and entire organs from dying or dead test subjects, and catalogue and store them all. It has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Sanayana's inventory of genetic material.

DROIDS: Hammerhead and Merman

droids2.jpg

The Hammerhead is one of Sanayana's own designs, a heavily-armed and armoured battle droid with a wide range of weapons, sensors and flight capability, However, she only has four of them at present, as they are time-consuming to manufacture. She has not shared the design with anyone else. Current armament is two heavy repeating blasters and two plasma projectors, one of each per arm, plus heavy-duty forcefield and wide spectrum optics.

The Merman is specially designed for underwater operations. It is tough, self-propelled, capable of operating at enormous depths without hindrance, and heavily armed for combat in and out of water. Like the Hammerhead, however, Sanayana has not made many - six so far - as she has other projects that are more pressing.

DROIDS : Martial Arts Droid

madroid.jpg

This class of droid is designed to mimic the actions of humanoid lifeforms. It is most used in combat training, where it is programmed to use various lightsaber fighting styles. Sanayana has four of these aboard the Dark Seeker, as well as four more back on Purgatory.

PERSONALITY:

To Sanayana, the Galaxy is her laboratory, to use as she sees fit. She is fascinated by life and death, by the differences between them and how organisms move from one state to the other. She is enthralled by the creation of new life forms, by melding older ones, or warping ("transmogrifying") them using Sith alchemy. The properties of inorganic materials delight her, and she strives to endow them with new properties and strengths. Then she tries to fuse living and unliving together on one creation.

Her attitude is disturbing to non-Sith. She is quiet, thoughtful, and alert, but one gets the sense that she is studying everyone as potential source material for her experiments (she is). She seems not to understand the pain of others, or that they might object to being experimented on. Her intellectual curiosity is so great that considerations of morality or the thoughts and emotions of others are of no consequence to her - if she even understands that they exist ...

BIOGRAPHY :

thecity.jpg

Many events that occur which seem otherwise inexplicable are said to be 'The Will of the Force'. If so, then it was more than simple luck that caused the small fleet of the 'Devenus Better World Project', named after its pioneer, to come to near-disaster and land on the unknown world which the new arrivals called Pyleus IV, but now known to the only human to have set foot upon it as 'Purgatory'.

The fleet was an ambitious project - starting a new world, even a new system of worlds, beyond the reach of the Alliance. Many of those who signed on to the venture were those with few prospects on their homeworlds, or who were running from divorces and bereavements. Still, they were educated and reasonably equipped. Except that in hyperspace, they were struck by a storm of previously unknown form that swept them out of hyperspace to a different planet than the one they were hoping for - and almost to destruction. Of the twenty ships that set off, only two survived, both of them so badly damaged that they were no longer capable of hyperspacial travel. With few other options, the two ships made planetfall on the only world in the system that seemed to be capable of supporting life.

Scouts were sent out to explore their new home, and they soon returned with amazing news - amidst the great wind-cut valleys and plunging canyons of their new home, they had found a deserted city of strange design, but of the correct size for human habitation. Though many found the place to be eerie, it was nevertheless settled. The eerie and unsettling atmosphere noted by some, however, was more than just impressionable newcomers overreacting - the planet on which they had landed was steeped in the Dark Side of the Force. Unfortunately, there were none in the expedition to warn the others of the danger. And none to see the workings of the Dark Side in the newborn child, Sanayana.

Her parents had been together during the flight, and she was conceived in hyperspace, but it was on the new world where she was born, the first child of the colony. From the beginning, however, she was odd, A loner who talked little, she wandered the strange city alone, often disappearing for hours on end, much to her parents's anxiety and displeasure. She never revealed where she went, however, though she would talk of strange sights she'd seen. These were dismissed as mere pretence and fantasy by the adults of the colony. But they were no such thing.

tunnel2a.jpg

The girl had found brightly-lit tunnels that led into unexplored parts of the city complex, some of them delving down into the ground, to structures not visible on the surface. Ancient dust lay everywhere, and the shadows seemed alive. Whispers reached the ears of the young girl, calling out to her, telling her secrets only she must know. These words she kept secret and learnt from as best as she could at her tender age. Even then, her intellect was astounding to others; she was studying subjects that children six or seven years older struggled with, and this keen intellect further ostracised her from the rest of the community, especially the other children, who hated her and refused to have anything to do with her. That suited Sanayana, who wanted nothing to do with them, but rather would spend time with the shadows ...

The colony had brought with them not just animals for milk, meat and hides, but also pets. When some of them went missing, it was at first out down to them becoming lost. As the numbers of missing went up, however, some began whispering of some kind of predator living in their new city. None ever linked the disappearances with Sanayana. They should have; the girl had, during one of her expeditions, stumbled across somewhere quite different to the rest of the explored parts of the city; a library, one where black holocrons sat on shelves waiting to be taken down and activated. That the young girl had done, and listened to what they had said, understanding much of what was said despite not yet even having reached eight years of age. The pets were taken for her to practise dissection, then later surgery on the living.

When the first child went missing, there was uproar. The girl concerned had been popular, athletic and beautiful. She had also been Sanayana’s chief tormentor. But none associated the disappearance of the fifteen year old with the silent eight year old – how could so young a girl be involved? The teen’s parents were adamant that their daughter had not had an accident, but that she still lived. Unfortunately, they were right. Sanayana had taken the girl for the first subject of her new obsession – Sith alchemy. Guided by the holocrons, she took the flesh of the girl and melded it with that of the pets, then replaced parts of the teen’s body with black steel. The girl took over a week to die.

Disappearances mounted over the next few years. Guard patrols hunted for the unknown child-thief, without success. Some finally began to look in Sanayana’s direction and followed her on her outings. But she knew they were watching her, and didn’t lead them to her secret laboratory. Instead, she showed them subterranean basements that echoed in their emptiness, and they concluded the girl was simply odd, strange, affected. Even her parents never suspected the work that the girl carried out as she began the study of Sith metalwork, forging items using the blood of children to quench them. They never saw the mutilated corpses dragged into empty rooms to rot after the test subject had died. They never saw the blend of living and dead flesh, the fusion of flesh and steel, the melding of human and animal that were the results of her studies. And they never knew when she awakened the Firebeast from its slumber.

What the Beast was, Sanayana could never find out – not that she cared. She was working on one of her test subjects, a young boy whom she was attempting to ‘upgrade’ with Sith-steel hands and cats’ eyes. Her work was going smoothly – she had learnt well. The boy’s screams were feeble now, and the steel was ready to insert, hot though it still was. Then the door to her laboratory burst open. For a moment, Sanayana thought she’d been discovered. But what stood there was no colonist, but a fiery beast of fang and claw. Yet the Beast, mighty though it was, came to her and knelt in supplication. Then it stood and turned away, beckoning with one massive claw. Sanayana followed, not knowing what to expect. What the Beast led her to was the dark heart of the planet.

thehearta.jpg

Here the Dark Side was at its strongest. Here were archives of Sith knowledge far greater than any she had yet uncovered. Here was raw power that spoke to her of the knowledge of life and death, of the art of melding and changing and forging. Here the girl who had once been finally died, and the new Sanayana was all that survived. And here she was shown the power that she needed to ensure that she would never have to face the wrath of the colonists – the full power of the Dark Side of the Force.

For the next few years, Sanayana carried out a reign of terror; now even adults weren’t safe. Yet no-one ever pointed the finger at her; there were always witnesses who remembered her being somewhere well away from the place where the missing person was last seen ... She no longer had to use force or drugs to kidnap her victims; she just manipulated their minds using the Force, and they followed her to their dooms. Her knowledge of the Force, and Sith alchemy, grew astronomically through constant practise, whilst she began to learn the skills of the blade from the hissing whispers that surrounded her constantly. The Firebeast brought forth more of its kind, though smaller and subservient to it. IN the end, her power grew great enough that her body showed the effects of the Dark Side within her, and the colonists finally understood that a monster dwelt with them. They tried to kill her, but she cloaked herself in the Force and hid from their sight. Then she unleashed her full power against them.

The colonists had no chance. The Firebeast was the greatest of its kind, and it led its pack into battle against the human interlopers. They arose like an army of living fire and fang, slaughtering the colonists as they attempted to flee. And amongst them was a girl who cast lightning from her fingertips that incinerated all it touched, or summoned illusions that drove the colonists to shrieking madness, or swept all to the ground, crushed by a wave of invisible force. Those who stood and fought were frozen with terror, unable to resist their slaughter, and all within the city, man, woman and child alike, were pulled down and killed or, worse, taken captive. The firebeasts herded the prisoners down into the depths where Sanayana’s research awaited fresh test subjects. And the first to be subjected to the agony of flesh-melding and metal implants were her parents.

Sanayana studied everything the holocrons and shadows revealed to her, all the dark knowledge and secrets and power that was now hers to wield. The catacombs beneath the dark city filled with the twisted, insane results of her studies, where they fought for the scraps that she absent-mindedly let fall there, or turned on, slew and ate each other. The Dark Side poured into her and made her a true conduit for its power. As she lived alone, she broadened her horizons by learning of spaceships and engineering from the datapads left behind by the now-vanished colonists, and one day, she found a spaceship sitting in a dark hangar, black with the dust of ages. With her newly-won knowledge, she entered it, studied it, and returned it to functionality, even upgraded it. Finally, after dwelling alone and studying for years in the bowels of the planet, she emerged and travelled to another world that called to her – Korriban. There she finally became truly one of the Sith.

Now she travels to Sith-ruled worlds, gathering knowledge, training those who wish to be Alchemists like her, and collecting fresh specimens for her studies, especially alchemical research, where her expertise has earned her the title "The Transmogrifier". Pity those who fall into her hands ...

No, she's a Mistress .... a Sith Mistress not the romantic kind! :D

Yeah, I thought I'd seen it, but couldn't find it when I looked. Oh well, as it says in the background material,a Master/Mistress can be as powerful as a Lord/Lady, it's just a rank difference.

Well yeah I guess a Sith master can challenge one of the dark lords for his/her position and if he won he gets to take the title from the current dark lord. :bitchez

True. I'm just not sure Sanayana would care enough to bother; as long as she can get all the experimental subjects she can use, she's happy!

Mistress Sanayana, the Sith Doctor Moreau ....

Thanks!

I was trying to stay away from the cliche Sith "ooh look at me, I'm so evil and I looove torturing people, bwahaha!" whilst still making her scary! I like to think I've succeeded! :D

Enjoyed it quite a bit, my only gripe is all of the Lightsaber forms.

Typically Padawans/Acolytes can know and be somewhat proficient in one form.

Maruaders/Knights can be proficient in 1 form and know to some degree a second

Masters/Lords can know 2 to a profound degree

Faction Leaders can know 3.

These are if you just create a character and get no formal training in it. There are loopholes like if you're the blademaster of the order etc.

Okay, dropped Shii-Cho (not needed as she has Niman, anyway) and Soresu - makes her a more aggressive duellist with Djem-Sho, Niman and Juyo (still learning the latter).

So, now?

Decided to go with 'Master' rather than 'Mistress' - the latter sounds too much like a sexual title, as in 'she's so-and-so's Mistress'.

Hmm, might add a droid to the character, one who has surgical skills - does the basic preparatory work for her, monitors doses, opens them up for the deep surgery etc. Possibly even acts as the operating table!

Still got to decide on the Force powers - if I detail them, that is ...

Masters can only know two lightsaber forms.

EDIT:

OMG That's A LOT of force powers.

Alright, can someone actually point to me to where it says how many powers, forms etc a character can have? I keep seeing this mentioned, but can't find the actual thread(s) myself. I'd like to read the actual rules for myself rather than keep hearing them secondhand.

I don't think they're written down but masters are only allowed to have two forms. That is, unless you can get Admin and Faction Leader permission to have more. I hope I don't have to go to an admin to have them tell you that. People do know what they're talking about. There's a reason for user feedback.

I also haven't seen a force power list that long since I read one of Zen's overpowered characters. I don't have the right to say if it is alright or not, but in my opinion it is way too much.

EDIT:

Sorry if I came off as harsh. I didn't mean to.
