Al-Ahzab

Those who stand against us are the injust, the unpure, the evil of this universe. Those who stand against us stand against perfection. Those who stand against us... shall die.
-Prophet Fatir-

During Darth Krayt's war, many people were caught in the crossfire in his desire to annihilate the Jedi and control the galaxy. However, the Jedi had been prepared that purge, and were able to thwart Krayt's plans. But the war waged, and many suffered. A prophet appeared around this time, calling himself Al-Fātiḥa. He promised a utopia for the faithful, those who would survive the hardships of war and be rewarded with paradise, a land called Az-Zukhruf, forged by an unnamed deity. Al-Fātiḥa claimed that this deity would solve everyone's problems, but required conformity to its worship, blaspheming all other deities whom are 'false prophets'.

With the carnage of war, many fell into the arms of Al-Ahzab, the name the prophet assigned to the worship and religion of the unnamed deity. Not long after the religion obtained a large base, the war ended. Al-Fātiḥa claimed that this was evidence of the deity's work, a reward for the faithful. More people flocked to Al-Ahzab, but even then, the religion remained small, in galactic retrospect. Regardless, it remained strong, continuing the preach its faith, spreading the word of Al-Ahzab. Al-Fātiḥa and followers approached the Galactic Alliance and the Fel Empire in order to have Al-Ahzab be declared their official religions. Both nations refused, angering the cult. Al-Fātiḥa swore that they would regret their decision if they did not change their ways; for the Empire, they would be consumed by darkness; for the Galactic Alliance, they would be plagued by the collapse of sovereignty.

While the Jedi kept the peace in its nation, the Imperial Knights were more proactive. Believing the Al-Ahzab may attempt to try to destabilize Marasiah Fel's sovereignty, the Imperial Knights rounded up worshipers of Al-Ahzab. During this prosecution, Al-Fātiḥa promised an exodus for his people, to journey to the promised land Az-Zukhruf. Most of Al-Ahzab disappeared that year, never to be heard again. Some sects remained in the galaxy, though many rotted into extinction or persecuted by the Imperial Knights. Al-Fātiḥa was eventually captured, handing himself over to the Fels. He was executed, though entered sainthood through his martyrdom.

It wasn't until 1,002 that Al-Ahzab became active once more. The first proclamation of Al-Fātiḥa was viewed as fulfilled, as the Sith took over the empire, mutating it into a darkened bastard called the New Sith Imperium. The prophecy coming true was seen as a harbinger of the religion's validity, in a galaxy filled with atheism. The cult grew larger than it had before, but still remained to break past the Church of Nothing. Still, it held power, resources. For ten years, it waited, growing in the shadows, awaiting for the galactic apocalypse to start, the eternal war between the heretical empire and Galactic Alliance. Patience rewarded them, with the destruction of the Will of the Force and the subsequent Third Galactic Civil War. Followers began to flock slowly to Al-Ahzab when the Galactic Alliance and its pet perish, the Jedi Order, began to trill through leaders.

Al-Ahzab believed the galaxy required cleansing, but needed the heads of the beasts, the New Sith Imperium and Galactic Alliance, to be cut off first. The Galactic Alliance was slowly being eaten away by the dark forces and its servants, the armored Mandalorians and the machinating Chiss. It would slowly die, even if the war ended. The Jedi were weak, and could be crushed later. As such, the darkness had to be defeated first, as declared by tenet al-Nur, which promoted the ascension of light and the destruction of darkness, to bring the eternal twilight. Al-Ahzab as such focused on the New Sith Imperium, followed by the Mandalorians and the Chiss Ascendancy.

But Al-Ahzab knew it had to wait. Patience had been rewarding in the past, and it could again. They decided that it needed to hide its involvement. As such, it aided and manipulated a band of rebels called the Empire Liberation Front, the cult's tool to harass the New Sith Imperium. It worked with the Imperial Knights for a time to attempt to ambush Darth Judicar and create a power void in the empire, which the Sith would likely cannibalize each other to fill. But it failed. The Sith were one step ahead. The Imperial Knights lost its leader and the Empire Liberation Front fled. Many of its forces were from Muunilinst, so it sought sanctuary there. But the empire did not abide by the rights of sanctuary. Instead, it burned the entire world.

The Empire Liberation Front suffered major blows, but survived, if only barely. It's leading echelon, the Kuji-in, attempted to revive its revolution, but was crippled during Operation Elf-Arrow. The Kuji-in survived, but lost most of its initiative. Al-Ahzab grew dissatisfied with their leadership, and took over the Empire Liberation Front, absorbing it into its military mass. But patience was being practiced. It waited, building up its forces. It avoided detection thanks to the refuge of their hidden haven, Az-Zukhruf.

Hierophant Fatir

That would change when Hierophant Ghafir died. Ghafir had sought to buy his time, to wait for decadency to overcome their enemies. Unfortunately, his successor, Fatir, was not so patient. The time for cleansing was now, he believed, and he would declare his holy war against the heretics in a show of power: the destruction of a meeting of the triad of evil, a convergence that was meant to solidify alliances but its bane could herald friction and war between vices.

Al-Ahzab is a cult that views the New Sith Imperium, Mandalorians, and Chiss Ascendancy as heretics and enemies; it despises the Galactic Alliance too, but believes it will slowly decay on its own. It has been around since the end of Second Imperial Civil War. For decades, it has waited and now believes it is the time to strike back. It has manipulated others in the past couple years, including the Empire Liberation Front. It has ties to numerous criminal organizations and is working with other groups, including Death Watch. It will stop at nothing to defeat its nemeses. With cells all over the place, it will require the combined efforts of the New Sith Imperium, Chiss Ascendancy, and the Mandalorians to squash these religious zealots.

This will be accomplished through upcoming missions. They will be unlocked upon the completion of "To Heaven or Hell".
