Osman Pasha had requested to train this particular padawan. She was a female Miralaku image of his younger self. He stood awaiting her in the Training Room he consistently used.

After a short wait, the door opened with a small noise. A hooded figure gently entered the training room, her steps softly brushing the floor, making little to no noise in contrast with the door. The figure silently approached the Jedi Knight standing in the room. As she was walking, she took a moment to register the signature of every object in the room and, finally, took upon to carefully study the signature of the man who was to be her guide and mentor for the times to come, making sure to remember it immediately.

Arriving next to Jedi Knight, the figure stopped and raised her head, removing the hood in a swift hand motion. A young girl's face revealed itself to the Nautolan Jedi. Rasen then used both her hand to slip her snow white hair out of the coat, letting it shower on her back, covering the hood and the fabric. Her eyes were covered by a brand of vivid red fabric, but her smile, however, was warm.

The girl extended her arm and offered her hand, still smiling quietly, then finally broke the silence with a very soft and calm voice.

-"Pleased to meet you, I shall serve as your padawan, if this is satisfactory. My name is Rasen Aszathlos and I am of the Miralukas, but I assume you already knew everything, correct?~"

"Yes I did." Osman took her hand into his own and shook it. "My name is Osman Pasha. I don't know if you know that."

-"As expected." a whisper, sneaky but gentle.

The girl held his hand firmly as they shook, innocently displaying that she didn't lack the physical strength of her male counterparts. she listened with attention as he replied and nodded slightly at both sentences. Her lips moved slightly, almost imperceptibly, silently wording the name as to carve it into her memory.

-"Actually." She begun in her soft, slow voice. "I am afraid I did not." She stopped and giggled a little. "I was not told of your name, only that my master would be awaiting me here."

Bearing her eternal, calm smile, she raised her head as if to "look" through the band of scarlet fabric into the eyes of her new master. she scratched the tip of her nose with her index before taking the initiative of the conversation once more..

-"Is there anything you wish to discuss, or ask of me, before we begin, master?"

Osman smiled when Scarlet cracked that little joke. "Yes, I had a question or two in mind. Why did you come to the Jedi Temple, why be a Jedi?"

Rasen's smile became shorter and she leaned backward, remaining silent for a moment. This may have seemed like an easy, very simple question, but it was not something to just hastily state. She joined her hand and lowered her head in thought, searching for the correct, appropriate words that would best describe her beliefs and motives.

-"I guess... I would have to say that I possess the desire to make the galaxy a better place, if you will excuse me the cliché of such a naive thought. A desire, however, is not sufficient, one need to possess skills and ability in order for one to take on what they want to do. Yes... in order to be able to actively work for the better of the world, I require to be powerful enough to make a difference..." she paused and held her chin in her hand. "No... that's not the good way to put it... Although it's somewhat true, I don't seek power just in order to become more powerful. Power and wisdom are simply requirements of being able to make a difference for the better, in my opinion, at least." another pause. a frown. "The Jedi are the guardians of the Galaxy, therefore I assumed it was the correct place for me to look."

Rasen ended her long monologue with a bitter smile and a relieved sigh. She always had some difficulties stating her honest opinions in way that were coherent to others, neither too long-winded and complicated, neither too crude. She hoped to have been clear and crossed her arms.

"That's a nice answer. It is good enough for me. Let's start the training." Osman motioned to a platform that stood twenty feet above the ground. "Can you jump up there?"

Rasen's smile returned with a small giggle upon hearing the positive answer of her Master. She was pleased to have been able to answer such an important question in an appropriate way, even if not very concisely.

As her master asked a new question, the girl followed his hand toward the platform above and observed it thoroughly. It was high up and no regular human movement could reach it. She waited for a moment and read the signatures of every object and parts of the room. Letting out a small "hmmm" she uncrossed her arms.

-"If the goal is simply to reach, I may be able to use columns to arrive there, but if it's simply "jumping" then no, I'm afraid I cannot."

"Then focus your mind to your legs. Think of jumping there with no problem, just jumping and you are there." He was being serious, even if he sounded like a crazy person.

"I see..." Rasen replied to his serious tone with her calm and posed yet understanding own. "I am a Miraluka, so I am already familiar with the Force as my way of "seeing". I knew a Jedi was able to do this kind of things, but I imagined it to be more complicated..."

Acknowledging the command, the girl's formerly right posture fell slightly, her feet distancing from each others and her center of gravity lowering. She remained in this position for a moment an breathed longly. Electricity ran through her muscle as they tensed up all the while she was focusing. Swiftly, she jumped.

A tens of feet only. Although the jump was higher than what she should have been naturally able to do, it was not enough. She landed back on her feet without a noise, her long coat and hair slowly falling back to their vertical position.

-"Looks like... I under-estimated things..." she whispered softly to herself.

Osman heard what she had whispered, but didn't feel it required a answer. "These things are simple, but it takes some practice before you can easily do it. Now try again." Osman waited for Scarlet to jump some more.

Without a word, Rasen took her stance again and she visualized the signature of the platform and made this picture her very objective. She lowered herself again and leaped upward. Her movement was much higher this time, but not quite complete. the girl instinctively grabbed the nearby edge of the platform. and raised herself in a curved movement toward the surface of the platform but stopped mid-way.

-"Kch, not satisfactory..." she whispered in an instant, as opposed to her usual slow pace.

Almost as instantly as she grabbed the edge of the platform, the white-haired girl kicked the platform sending herself backward, rotating her body to land on her feet. In a much faster motion, she lowered herself one third time and visualized the platform, but this time, she also saw herself on it in the picture, she also saw the strength she would have to employ. Unlike her previous attempt, she only visualized her target for a fraction of second. This was much less, but so much clearer.

Rasen jumped one more time, now acknowledging both her target and her own presence. To her satisfaction, her feet landed correctly and silently on the platform higher up. A smile crept upon her face with the accomplishment. Being of a very Force-sensitive specie, she did not have much difficulties feeling the Force, what she lacked was the knowledge of how to use it. It may not have been more than a simple thing to her Master, but for her it was the very first step of so much more.

She turned around and sat on the edge of the platform, her legs going back and forth as she looked down, yet still with respect, on her Master. She chuckled as she thought of the irony of looking down upon her master and quickly chased the ridiculous idea, very much aware that the man was able of so much more. She awaited silently for his next command.

"Quite good." Osman jumped up onto the platform with her. "Now do you see those weights on the far side? Pick up the smallest." He did not go into an explanation, hoping she could try and do it by herself. Confidence could work wonders.

Rasen giggled and put her left hand to her mouth.

-"Why yes, I -do- "see"~" she commented in a soft but playful tone.

The young padawan looked at the weights, instantly understanding what her Master was expecting to do. As such, she remained seated and smiling. She identified the smallest Force Signature and focused on its presence. she then visualized it moving and focused on the belief that it indeed was moving. Visualization could be good some times, but she liked better a different kind of approach.

Instead of imagining the weight to move and attempting to project Force at it, she genuinely convinced herself that the weight could and would move. And so she did, so did it. Slowly at first, she tried to accomplish her goal without haste, trying to eradicate any crack of doubt that could shatter her effort. Once she saw it move, however, she realized that it was really working and all shards of doubt vanished. Rasen swiftly ordered it to come toward her and made it land softly in the open palm of her hand.

-"Am I doing things correctly, Master?~" she inquired in her still soft but playful tone.

"Oh yes Scarlet. Adn you can call me Osman if you prefer. Now then set it back down and pick up the other weights one at a time, to about six feet before setting it down."

-"Hmmm... Nope" She begun quietly. "Unless you wish for me to call you by your name, I believe it would be more appropriate for me to call you by your rank until I acquire the right to do otherwise."

Her last statement was not really a defiance, more of the acknowledgment of her own status. Or at the very least, it was the message she meant to carry. She then proceeded with Osman's next task. She focused on the second weight, well aware that heavier weight would require more focus to move.

To her surprise, however, she realized that there was no degree of focus in her way of moving things. She simply had to believe for them to move and so they did. As she kept on with her task, she realized that although it was an efficient way of doing it, her resolution needed to be perfect and would a single shard of doubt assault her concerning her own abilities, she could fail. It was something she would need to remember on the fields, she had to remain confident in herself if she wanted for things to work.

This fact well learned, Rasen then begun to experiment the extent of her abilities, she lifted weights with different speed and attempted to make them follow patterns. It proved to be no difficult to make them follow set patterns of movement or paths and she was quite satisfied with this. Once her task and experiments done, she landed the last weight and awaited with a serene smile.

"How entertaining. Now let's get down from here, I got a surprise." Osman jumped down from the platform, and landed safely.

-"fufu"

The snow-haired girl stood up and faced the opposite side of the gap. Slowly, she let herself fall backward and before she began to 'truly' fall she kicked the platform's edge, sending her toward on a more horizontal trajectory. She then rotated to land on her feet. It may have been dangerous to toy the sort with not yet fully explored powers, but little did she care because she indeed was exploring the extent of what the force allowed her to do. As she rose from her landing, she remembered an old proverb fit to her situation: "Who risks nothing gains nothing."

-"Now now, what may this surprise be~" she asked softly, although with still a hint of playfulness. This training was going quite well and she enjoyed it.

"This." A cylinder about the size of a hand rose from a collection on the side. It floated quickly in front of Scarlet. "It is a training lightsaber, and while it's name is decieving, it hurts quite a lot. Leave it on the setting it's on, and ignite it."

One for Osman also floated into his grasp, igniting as soon as he grabbed it.

Rasen's smile grew in a smirk as she grabbed the handle of the lightsaber, she brought it to a standard swordplay stance and left the setting as is, but did not yet ignite it. Before she could do so she remembered something that had struck her before.

-"Master, I have a question before we start." She begun politely. "You called me Scarlet earlier. Where did you learn of my nickname?"
