Great show or greatest show? George and Newman are the best.

The only episode of Seinfeld I saw was about a Native American statute in a cigar shop, and it was super racist.

Yeah, that was pretty full on. I miss the 90's. We'd watch stuff like that and not feel bad.

I mean, I watch that stuff and don't feel bad anyway, because I'm Australian and therefore a racist, but if I was a member of a real country, I'd like to think I'd be ashamed.

I wouldn't. Racist humor is some of the funniest humor. See: Eddie Murphy's Raw and Delirious.

It was supposed to be.

I only remember two Seinfield episodes. The Pez Dispenser and the one where George got sick, and then sicker later on.

I feel this is one of those shows I need to go and watch.

On that note, I can find a bunch of stuff that should be clearly offensive funny, as much as that may be bad.

At your suggestion, I watched Eddie Murphy's Raw and barely got through it. So much homophobia, sexism, and general "suck my dick" machoness.

I'd say it's more "bad" when people can't find offensive things funny.

Jokes at the expense of oppressed peoples, jokes that use existing stereotypes to further take cheap shots at women and minorities, aren't funny. Jokes that subvert existing stereotypes and use humour to make light the prejudices in our society, that is, clever satire and the like, are funny.

To you maybe

You can't decide ultimately what people find humorous, don't speak for everyone there are quite a few of us you wouldn't want to represent

Don't ever see comedy in hawaii then, you'll only be disappointed.

Anyway, sienfield's comedy seemed to come from equal parts strange circumstance, acknowledging how awkward things were, and how ridiculous some of the characters went to get whatever they were trying to get done, done.

I disagree, -shrug-. I don't need my humor to be SJW approved in order to like it personally.

Don't need it approved by anyone to find it funny. At least I hope we don't live in that time anymore.

Just don't make dead baby jokes to get some laughs and then scold someone for making a joke about racism. That unnerves me.

Long story short...

It's not a distinction at what can be made fun on, it's a distinction of the way that something is being made fun of. South Park is a fantastic example. It makes fun of everything from rednecks to Mexicans to Mormons, etc. but it does it in a much smarter way than just pointing out cheap stereotypes for a quick laugh.
