It had been a quiet day that was slowly turning to dusk as Yumera wandered the streets of Coruscant, eyes alert in case she saw someone just asking for their pockets to be picked. Unfortunately those alert eyes had only so far seen that everyone eyes her suspiciously and made darn sure she wasn't going to try for their pockets by putting their own hands on them. She supposed she did stand out a bit like a sore thumb here in one of the richer parts of town, what with all their fancy, spotless clothes and haughty demeanours. Just about all of them had turned their nose up just at the sight of her in her slightly dirty and not at all fashionable clothes. It wasn't her fault that those fancy clothes were always so tight! And in ways that were meant to show off assets, not allowing freedom of movement but rather restricting it.

It also wasn't her fault that she didn't have any assets to show off. She was still growing those! At least, that's what she told herself. She'd certainly been in a lot of situations that a nice pair would have gotten her out of a lot easier then having to lie through her teeth. She let out a sigh and put it out of her mind for the tenth time today. She had better things to focus on - like the big score she was scoping out even now. She had come across information that told her that one particular house here was owned by someone who had earned his fortune in a less then reputable manner; even less so then just stealing it. Selling weapons on the black market, as she had heard it - and she was just betting that he had a tidy 'rainy day' fund stored in the house's vault. It shouldn't be too much trouble to get into. Other then the armed guards anyways.

She had spied a good vantage spot earlier, before deciding to go try and pick a pocket or two and earn some supper. That hadn't panned out, so now she took a look around, and not seeing anyone clambered up onto a railing, then a roof to sit and watch the house she was casing. She needed to count the guards - and a quick count told her this might not be a job she could accomplish without some help. Her belly rumbled, angry at her for not feeding it, and she let out a sigh. Well, help or not, she was going to give it a try. She needed the food - and if she was starving, she knew there would be street urchins even worse off then her that could use some food as well.

Perched on a rooftop not far from Mister Faytho's house, Raith watched the place closely, examining the complex with his macro-binoculars, looking for his opening. He had been casing Faytho for a while now; Raith had discovered the rich prick made his slice by selling weapons on the black market, a very lucrative practice, not to mention highly illegal and immoral. After casing his house, he identified what Faytho called his 'rainy day fund', an item that was very expensive that he had come across.

As he was examining the place, Raith noticed someone crouching on another rooftop not far from him. Judging from the being's height and the slight potrusion from her chest, it seemed a young girl was also casing the place. Smiling, Raith thought it had been a while since he had a partner on the job, so he looked around him, noticing a power cable stretching from the rooftop he was on over to where she was. Producing one of his duranium fighting sticks, Raith put the cable between himself and the stick and grabbed onto the fighting tool with both hands, before leaping off the roof.

Gliding along the cable, it seemed the thing was strong enough to hold Raith, something that relieved him, not really in the mood for falling on his face. Within seconds, he was over the rooftop the young girl was on, and released his left hand's grip, letting him loose and falling from the cable. Landing gracefully on the rooftop without a sound, he approached the girl from behind. "So, what's a little gal like yourself doing watching a rich man's house?" Raith asked, coming around, smiling towards the girl.

Yumera let put a squeel and jumped so high she almost fell of the roof as a voice suddenly spoke from just behind her. She spun quickly, her hands moving to the handles of two throwing knives currently tucked in her boots. She saw how close the man was, not more the a few feet, with a nasty looking metal rod already in his hands. Couple with the fact that he had managed to sneak up on her rather easily, she was willing to bet that by the time she pulled them free and cocked an arm back for a throw, she'd have caught that stick square in the face. Even worse, she couldn't back away to buy more time as she was already at the edge of the roof. And that wasn't even mentioning that her jump and awkward spin had left her sitting flat on her rear with her legs splayed randomly so she could reach her boots.

It only took her a moment of consideration to bring her hands up empty from her boots, studying him more closely and eyeing his garb. He kind of looked like a criminal himself, and a bit higher class at that. Higher class then herself, at least. He also had a smile on his face and didn't seem like he wanted to hurt her. That was always a good start. "I'm just - really hungry, and I heard that this guy was no good. So I thought is steal some food from him." Her belly rumbled just on cue and she gave him her best puppy-dog eyes as well, having decided to play up the cute little girl act. He had correctly deduced she was a girl already, which meant he was rather astute and would likely catch on of she tried anything but the truth - even if this truth was being added on to by her cute play.

"You scared me half to death, just now. How'd you get behind me anyways?!" She was smiling as she asked, her hand reaching out towards him, silently asking for a hand up. She didn't exactly feel dignified while sitting on her rear like this. She hoped noone down below had heard her girlish squeel - and that he wasn't going to run it in her face. She blushed a bit just from the memory of that squeel she had made.

Raith chuckled a little bit, he thought the kid was cute, but she needed some work if she was ever going to be a real thief. "Well, it seems you and I had the same plan." The Master Thief stated, noticing that the girl was eyeing his Fighting Stick, looking at it worridly like he might all up and whack her with it. Shrugging to himself, he put the stick back in its sash on his back.

He thought about her next question, the girl wondering how Raith could have possibly snuck up on her like he did. He merely shrugged before answering. "When you're a Master Thief, you learn these things." A thought then occured to him, recalling that he had dropped down here to investigate whether or not this girl wanted to join him, at least on this task. "Where are my manners; I am Raith Corris, Master Thief and Tip-toeing Extrodinare, what's your name?" He asked, throwing a bit of humor into his introduction.

He seemed to ignore her hand that was asking for a lift up, but he also put his fighting stick away. She did frown a bit as he mentioned that they had the same plan. So he wanted to steal the rainy day fund as well, hmm? That complicated things - or perhaps uncomplicated them. She had been wondering how to get in and out without getting shot. Perhaps this would work out in her favor. She adjusted her seated position into being crosslegged as it was more comfortable as he spoke again. A master thief, was he? And then he even introduced himself as one. Well now, this man was strange, and even had a sense of humor.

"They call me Yumera." Well, there might not be much of a 'they' so much as a couple people she had meet and told her name. Not really anyone she was still acquainted with. "The uh... Most awesome cut purse those side of - well, the block, I guess. Assuming that block ends right before you do." She grinned at her own self deprivating humor, but it faded a moment later as she eyes him. "So, we're after the same prize. What's the 'Master Thief etiquette on that, huh?" She had a notion it was probably going to be him telling her to 'piss off
before I give you a spanking' or something similarity derivative about her age or childish looks, but it never hurt to ask. At least that's what they told her, anyways.
