Kai was not sure if it was the seductive nature of the dark side or his own business prowess, perhaps a combination of the two, but things were going well. "Were the people you were paying also affiliated with that Hutt?" If she was getting harassed by the same people that she paid to provide protection that would make things simpler. But if it were two different groups and one was just not providing the advertised service then that would mean Kai would have to deal with it a little differently.

The Grysk gently stood up and walked around the room, eyes glancing to the decor and then back to the listening Cathar."I'm looking for something long term." He smiled to himself since it almost sounded like he meant it in terms of relationship rather than a business deal. But Kai kept going. "I'm not really interested in just providing a protection racket. If I'm associated with a business and invest, I get invested. Iit becomes my business to know its business. Your establishment would get its protection, it would not be some guy who comes by once every two weeks to pick up an envelope of credits. That's hardly a new business model around these parts. Kai did not want to be the same as every other slug on the planet. There was room for something new, something better.

Kai found his way to the desk opposite Nashyr. His hand touching a desk bound bobble with idle interest before looking up at the feline's stare. "If someone's harassing my business investment I like to know about it so I can deal with it. At that point it's not you hiring me to take care of some thugs. Corporations do the same with providing their own security for their own facilities. You seem like a woman who values security."

He mentioned the gangsters... and just like that, her good mood evaporated. A cold mask settled over her features, and she leaned back. "Different Hutt, from what I was told," she remarked, arms still crossed beneath her bust.

She listened, tilting her head to watch as he slowly walked and said his piece. He had a point... and she did value security. To a point. But if she wanted her business investments in safe hands... she wasn't certain it would be in safe hands for a man she'd never heard of. But it equally meant freedom from the Syndicate's involvements to her own side businesses; all good in the Cathar's eyes.

"Tempting enough," she mused, nibbling on her lower lip and giving him a stare. "Say if I agree; outline your security details, and the price you're asking for."

Even with as ideal of a setup, even with his manipulation of the force it all only went so far. At least he knew something else about the woman. If his own associate was not easily manipulated that was a reliability in of itself. A silver lining

Even so, the Cathar was still interested...

Malakai's ghoulish face was already the visage of a grinning skull but her words made the edges of his mouth creep even further into a wide grin. The music from downstairs became more noticable as the Grysk withheld his answer for a few extra moments. When she looked at him he just stared at her like he knew exactly how the next era was going play out.

He would speak a little softer, forcing her feline ears to listen closer. He wanted to make sure she listened. "You're wanting answers but they have their own set of questions attached. If you're fine with the giving that kind of information I can answer your questions." What kind of setup did she have with her own employees? Kai had been talking to another bar owner who allowed her dancers to sell spice. Were there any side operations, the details about her book keeping, These were things he would potentially scrutinize if she agreed to the terms. Of course, he might not give a damn and be giving her a chance to earn his trust. Apparently reading a skull without a normal face was difficult for most people.

"Hmm." She stared at him a beat; unlike the Hutts, where she only had to flash some cleavage and half-assed promises, this guy seemed smarter than he looked. And if he had that kind of smarts, it meant his pocketbook was deeper than he initially let on... which meant good news for what she was hoping for. Security was one, sure, but money to line her pockets, and to keep the club running and financially independent from her constant supervision... he didn't need to know she would be controlling her assets remotely anyways.

"Ask away," she nodded, watching him.
"I have nothing to hide... at least, nothing yet." A wicked grin touched her lips, and she chuckled. "What do you want to know?"

Glad to hear her response the two would get into the details of her business. He would explain what he could provide in greater detail with familiar faces of his own men and holo projections so that she and her staff would not be surprised by seeing face become more familiar in the following days. Mostly it was about security and to make sure that Slicer's Vice and its owner felt safe since Kai could tell that was her primary concern.

"Is there anything I need to know about your business that you haven't already told me? Any outstanding debts or enemies that might take action against you and myself by association?" it was an honest question and one that he did not have a wrong answer.

Either way he would move onto the next subject. "I do actually know about a party going on that could earn us some investments if we play our cards right. I've could use a plus one." He spoke with a tone saying that it was just the tip of the iceberg. But he would not reveal greater details unless she asked or agreed. If she said no he would be able to still find someone to help. It just made more sense if the owner of this business came with him.

She considered him for a time; he had planned this all out, gambling on a favorable reaction before continuing forward and giving her selling points that any club owner in her right mind would adore. And she was loving hearing all this...

"Hmm. No outstanding debts, no," she tilted her head. "My records and balances have always been maintainable; even my debts to the Hutts have been immaculate. You can check their creditor records for that." She always had a gift for numbers, it was something she could never explain fully.

"A party, you say?" she hummed, tilting her head with a small grin. "Sure... why not, though I may be a little old for a party. I could use a break and some dancing."

It wouldn't hurt to socialize once in a while; besides, she felt like something like this would be a sound investment for her business' future.

One without her in it.

Hearing Nashyr speak confidently about her financial situation was good. He trusted her though at some point he would probably still verify the specifics. The main reason was to make sure nothing untoward occured at the party he mentioned.

"You're never too old to party. I'm sure everyone there would enjoy watching you dance." Kai grinned knowing she had not meant the type of dancing her employees were doing downstairs. "It might be a bit on the formal side though..." He looked down at his own simple street clothes. He would have to probably wear a suit or some kind of evening party outfit. But clothing was a small matter. "I'm sure you'll look great in anything though. It's this weekend so do you think your schedule is open?" He leaned against the desk of the club owner but his body language said their meeting was nearing its end.
