Hey guys.
I have, to even the most unobservant, not been around for a while. Unfortunately that's going to continue to be the case. Back in February I let Sreeya know that I was considering stepping down as Admin. She has, rather generously, not fired my absent butt in the two months I've taken a burnout break. I've been not looking forward to sitting down to write this post, which kinda delayed my decision. This community has been a part of me for roughly six years. I've had countless laughs, made friends, created some solidly fun stories with you guys, and it's hard to actually walk away from that. It's hard to write this post. But it needs to be done. I should have done this at the end of February. I'm sorry if I've let the site and my former colleagues in the staff down with that.
Like other former staff I've made my applications to grad school. When/if that starts, there's no way I would have time to commit to being an Admin, or being anything more than mildly involved in the RP. So, might as well face the music early. That, and I have been burned out. I miss it, but I don't miss it. It's an odd, mixed feeling. Being an adult with an adult job takes time and energy, it's hard to balance that with duties on here. I'm not sure how the people with families of their own do it, but they deserve some serious admiration for what they are able to devote to the community. All of them are better than me at it, that's for damn sure.
I'm going to miss the hell out of you guys. Really. I might be back to the RP at some point, I don't know for sure, but it probably won't be during the school year. And I probably won't approach my old activity level at its peak. I might pop in to the Discord from time to time just to say hi.
Thank you all for allowing me to take a part in our collective story. For better or for worse, at SWRP's highest and lowest, no matter what flaws in the system you perceive, or opinions you hold of how things are run, everyone here has, together, created a story and community that is simply astounding. You would be very hard pressed to find something quite like it elsewhere. Please be here when I'm done with grad school. I would like to return one day when I am up to it.
