The guards had taken away all three of her lightsabers. She knew she would be able to retrieve them later, but there was something Snake didn't like about not having any weapons with her... Oh yes, the feeling of being unprotected, of nakedness. She would be alone with the Chancellor in his office and she knew there were more harmful things she could do with the Force than with a single stroke of her lightsaber. Not to mention that today was a day of negotiation.

Well... Night, she corrected mentally, recalling the moonlit skies she had seen before entering this building.

Snake would talk to this new Chancellor, although he had been in office before. It would be good for the both of them to talk together and strengthen the alliance between the Republic and the Jedi. Perhaps their leadership could help diminish the threat of the Sith. It was still her first month as Grandmaster, and she swore to herself that she would not mess this meeting up.

*The meeting he was about to enter made him feel greatly uncomfortable. After the Great Rim Lines War had ended, he held a great respect for the Jedi Order when they helped him win the Battle of Dxun and the war. However, once the Great Sovereign Crusades had started things went downhill. However, as Chancellor he had forced himself to deal with them until the Bendu Order decided to attack them. Then, because of their incompetence and danger to the citizens of the Republic, he condoned what the Bendu did and allowed the Jedi Order to be exiled off of Coruscant, just days before Coruscant was lost to the Sith. Meeting with the Jedi Grandmaster after almost a year would prove to be awkward, at best.

As the Jedi Grandmaster stepped into his office, he stood up from his desk. He immediately noticed the lightsabers not hanging on her belt, which was exactly what he had requested. In his first term, he never would have thought of asking a Jedi to remove their lightsaber in his presence, but after what he had done he could not take any chance. He stepped around his desk and extended a hand for the Jedi Master to shake, hoping she would do so.*

"Master Jedi, it is an honor to make your acquaintance."

"And it is an honor to make yours, Chancellor," Snake answered in return, her hazel eyes never leaving his face as they shook hands.

"There have been many... conflicts between our two factions and I believe that it is our duty to repair the bond that has once been shared. For years, the Republic and the Jedi have been known to be allies. The Jedi have always protected the citizens of these worlds and have always carried out missions for the better good.

However, the Bendu have helped to sever that bond, although it was our factions' fault as well. And the Sith weren't very friendly to our cause, either. The Bendu have left these regions, but the Sith remain. I have called a meeting of a Jedi and we have discussed what we wish to do. In the end, it was determined that the 'Jedi Crusades' would begin, with our goal being to push the Sith away and bring light back to the galaxy once more.

I ask you for you and your faction's support and alliance. If the Republic and the Jedi were to be joined once more, we may finally be able to turn the tables on the never-ending battle against the Sith."

After speaking, she lowered her head, humbly, and raised it once more. She couldn't help but to wonder what answer he would give her.

*He cringed at the mentioning of the war between the Bendu and the Jedi, the war that cost the lives of his daughter and the man that he had come to consider to be like a second son. The tension built between him and the Jedi Master, though he obviously could not lose his cool. Jar Todur already knew what would happen when that happened, and he did not intend to let Snake Brooks know as well.*

"We have an accord, but please be aware that my patience for incompetence and stagnation is limited. Do not fail the Republic again or this alliance will be nullified."

Snake's eyes narrowed only in the slightest at the Chancellor as she sensed his feelings, both from the tone of his voice and the tension that came off of him. She responded in a cool voice to him:

"That is understood clearly. You'll find that the Jedi are not as incompetent as you speak. I intend to keep us as far from exile as possible. If there is anything you need from us, do not hesitate to let us know. And if you need me no longer, I have other duties to attend to."

She bowed formally to him. "Farewell, Chancellor."
