DESCRIPTION
The Siroc is a high-powered speeder bike - also known as a "swoop" - originally produced by the Superior Repulsorcraft & Aerospace Development Company, also known as SRAD Co., a Mid Rim vehicle manufacturer which was in existences for a brief period prior to the Hundred-Year Darkness. A maker of high-performance landspeeders, airspeeders, jumpspeeders, swoops and even spacecraft, SRAD was run as a passion project by a group of retired engineers from various larger companies, and only committed to very short production runs, with high quality and low volume being their hallmarks. Although they were not extremely expensive vehicles for what they were, SRAD products nevertheless gained an air of exclusivity.

Unfortunately, SRAD closed its production lines shortly after the outbreak of the Saber War, and is long gone. Before it closed, however, it produced the Siroc, a sleek, extremely fast touring swoop, 2.5 meters in length with large control surfaces fore and aft, allowing exceptional maneuverability. In addition to the driver, a single passenger may be accommodated on the seat, although said passenger is advised to be very familiar with the driver, as this arrangement allows for essentially zero personal space. The Siroc can also carry up to 25 kilograms on a rear cargo deck. Other features include a navigation system, an entertainment unit with a sonocassette deck, and a servo-adjustable spotlight which primarily provides forward illumination for night driving.

Only a relative handful of Sirocs were built by SRAD before the war ended production, and original examples are highly prized by classic swoop collectors and riders. Despite its age, the Siroc's design is still considered exceedingly modern, and was decades ahead of their time when first built. Of note, the Siroc is widely imitated in the form of modern reproductions and interpretations, most identifying themselves as such, although some unscrupulous outlaw techs have been known to build close copies and pass them off as originals to unsuspecting collectors. Originals can be identified primarily by the grade of desh used in their bodywork, as well as subtle manufacturer's marks which are difficult for modern-day forgers to duplicate.

LEGALITY
Legal. Jumpspeeders like the Siroc are not military vehicles, nor do they have any features which might make them restricted on most worlds. They may get you a speeding ticket, of course.

INTENT
To create a slightly more practical swoop design than those already in existence, better suited for swoop gangs and the like.

ADVANCED TECH
No. Although original production examples of the Siroc are not common, copies of the design are relatively easy to find, and can be stolen, bought or otherwise acquired without extreme difficulty.
