DESCRIPTION​

This starship modification converts one (1) room of passenger space and five (5) tons of cargo space into a full medical suite complete with scanners and diagnostic equipment, medical supplies to treat ailments and illnesses from cuts and burns to allergies, Gizka Pox and the Dantari Flu. In the case of true emergencies a bacta tank bed is available to stabilize and treat critically injured patients or provide relief to those suffering chronic health conditions. This sort of modification is useful for handling emergencies in deep space and are especially vital on long-haul freighters and transports running supplies into the Outer Rim; for many these shipboard med-bays are the closest thing to a real medi-center many remote colony worlds or outposts will see.

INTENT​

I wanted to create a way for characters who are focused on providing medical care - doctors, medics, Jedi specializing in refugee/aid missions, etcetera - to provide care aboard their personal ships or modify their ship into being a mobile medical center. Outside of that a medical bay aboard a ship is useful to anyone who may find themselves or their companions injured in the course of their adventures - smugglers, mercenaries, bounty hunters, etcetera.

RESTRICTIONS​

While anyone can read the instructions on applying a bacta patch or a bottle of painkillers, the more advanced equipment and healing benefits of the medical bay modification can only be utilized when operated by a trained physician, healer, or medical droid such as the 2-1B Surgical Droid.
