Amor exited the cantina. The two knights walked slightly ahead of Amor on their way back to the ship, they knew he would need to speak to the boy that appeared from the cantina and caught up to walk next to Amor.

" I'm sure you have many questions, but before you start asking I should let you know who I am. I am Amor, the Seneschal of the Imperial Knights. I spent the first half of my life being trained by a sith, and continue to practice with the darkside of the force. I am without an apprentice currently, and plan on making you my first one. Power, and the chance of bringing balance to the galaxy, are what you can gain by accepting. "

Vale catches up to Amor with very little difficulty, and takes up position to the left of the being. The kid tilts his head at the older man and frowns. If he thought he was confused by their last bit of the conversation, he was completely lost now.

"Alright. Amor. Got it. But... Ehh... Can you say the rest of that again slowly? Because to be honest... You lost me at Imperial Knights. Whats the Force? And while youre answering those questions... Whats a sith, why am I being made your apprentice, and What kind of power are we talking about."

Vale, with his shorter legs, does his very best to keep stride with the grown being, staring up at him and not looking in front of him as he walks.

The questions made Amor stop in his tracks and look down at the boy. Not knowing of the Imperial Knights could be understood, maybe. But the lad didn't even know who the sith were, or what the force was?

" Are you telling me that you have never heard of the Empire, or the Sith? The people who have been invading the alliance space you have grown up in, the people who forced all of those mandalorians in the cantina to be here? "

Vale returns the mans gaze, stopping where he was and crossing his arms a little. "Do you have any idea how hard it is just to survive? Ive heard the words before. And I know theres fighting. But I dont know any of the details. Forgive me for being more focused on where my next meal is coming from and just where im going to sleep tomorrow. Guess those take back seat to politics."

The boy didnt mean to sound as biting as he did, but he didnt apologize for it because he meant every word. "Look. Just... Just explain it slowly and assume I dont know anything. We can work on my habits of reading the holonet or not later."

" Very well then, the sith are...well, the sith are evil. They are a group of force users that spread across the galaxy killing, suppressing, or enslaving all whom stand in their way. They plan to take control of the entire galaxy. No matter what it takes. Does that make sense? "

"As much sense as anything else Ive heard today. But it brings me back to my original question. What is the force, and what do you mean that the sith use it?"
The boy's frown fades and is quickly replaced with a look of honest curiosity.

" The force is not something that can be fully explained with words. You could compare it to an energy field almost...an energy field created by living things, that binds the galaxy together. Of course there is the light side and the dark side of the force, but in my eyes it is all one. It is what sith and jedi draw their power from, it is what allows us to perform remarkable feats such as incredible strength, or dominating another's mind, or even conjuring lightning. It is a lot to take in, but with enough time and training you could come to master the force, and bend it to your will, to make virtually anything possible. "

"Alright. I guess ill put the rest of my questions on hold for now... Unless you have anything else you want to add? But yeah... Its going to take time to process all of this. Especially the bit about conjuring lightning... Err... So... If you dont mind me asking... One Last Question? Umm... Where are we going?"

Vales laughs a little nervously and rubs the back of his head.

" Were going to my ship, and from there we will be traveling back to the Imp. Knight HQs. You do want to start you new destiny don't you? "

The two knights that had been traveling with Amor entered the ship, going to start the engines and preparing the ship for take off. Amor walked onto the ramp, and turned to face Vale.

" Are you sure you want to do this? The journey will not be easy and most, if not the rest, of your life will be devoted to it. "

The boy pauses at the bottom of the ramp, staring up at the older being who would be his teacher, his mentor if he took that next couple of steps onto the ship. Only a very small part of him hesitated as he moved up the ramp, the part that was afraid of the future. However, he manages a small smile as he steps past Amor, looking up at the man. "Not like I have much i'm leaving behind. Just watch me. Ill beat anything you can throw at me. No matter what."

And so the die of fate had been cast, and Vale took his first steps into a larger universe.

One Day Later
--------------

What is the force? The question had been asked to Amor nearly a day ago, and he still could not think of a clear cut answer to give his new apprentice. This was mainly because, Amor was never told himself. He was flung into the world of the dark side. Learning its power through direct teaching, no explanation. He had to do his own research using holocrons, or talking to other acolytes. Once he finally left the sith behind, he never sought out the answer to the question. All he knew was that he could use the force, and that it served him well. As Amor though about it more and more though, he knew that his apprentice would want to know more than that. For this reason, Amor had started creating a holocron. Not on his life, but on all known knowledge of the force. It would contain different views on the force, the history of the force, and different events throughout the galaxy that happened because of the force. Reading over it, Amor decided that it would be very informative, but not practical. Vale would be able to understand “what” the force was considered amongst scholars, sith, and jedi, but he would not know how to feel the force. That would only come once he began practicing with it, and opening himself to Amor’s teachings.

Amor walked from his quarters of the ship to Vale’s. The boy probably was still very confused, and had not been getting much rest. When Amor opened the door though, he was fast asleep. Amor gently placed the holocron down on the end table and left the room, not wanting to wake the boy. Vale would come once he had completed his research, most likely with many questions. Amor would need to rest so that he would be able to answer them once the boy did come...

Vale sleeps on peacefully through the mans intrusion into his temporary quarters on Amor's ship. The young man hadn't slept that well in years, not since the first night he spent in Dissan's apartment in Nar Shadaa's shipping districts. In all, the boy sleeps for almost Twelve standard hours. When Vale finally rises, it takes him a few seconds to collect his bearings. Not because he is unused to waking up in strange places, but because he was unused to waking up in strange places in a bed. Usually, he woke up on a floor or in a crate where he was stowed away.

As he slips his feet over the side of the bed and onto the metal floor, Vale realizes that he isn't wearing his black boots anymore. Now that WAS strange, because he always kept those on in the case that he had to make a hasty exit. It is only then that he remembers where he is. On the ship of a being who had taken him in. The being who would be his teacher. Amor... Vale sighs and makes his way over to a mirror on the wall, doing his best to wrangle in his unruly brown hair before spotting a glint on the end table behind him. Curiosity overriding years of caution, Vale walks over to the end table and examines the object.

At first, it just looks like a small crystalline box of an almost clear, uncolored hue. Something about it draws his eye, and the boy reaches down to touch it gently on one of its faces. Almost immediately, the cube seems to light up with some sort of inner light and a small, six inch holographic representation of Amor appears in the air above it. Vale starts at first when the little hologram appears, however he quickly settles down. Was it some kind of message left for him? If so, it was one heck of a way to leave a memo. The crystal continues to glow in front of him, and the miniature Amor begins to speak in his even tone.

The miniature Amor hologram introduces itself as a gatekeeper to Amor's holocron, and informs Vale of its purpose to enlighten the boy to the basics of the Force's Philosophy from all perspectives. Vale, surprised at first but unwilling to show it even to a hologram, smiles and nods enthusiastically. He motions for the Gatekeeper to continue and sits down on the bed, facing the little Amor. For four hours he sits there, listening to the Gatekeeper speak about The force, an all encompassing energy field which binds every living being together. The Holocron waxes on the basic views on the force from the earliest recorded period to the more recent events.

For four whole hours, Vale does not so much as move except to stand and stretch his legs every thirty minutes, and even then he never walks far from the little Holocron and its Gatekeeper. Occasionally, he interjects to ask a question or clarify a point. However, Vale soon finds that the Holocron only has the most basic of knowledge and most if not all of that was on Philosophy, not practicality. Finally, Vale stops pacing in front of the bed as the Gatekeeper announces the end of its database. The human boy blinks a few times before walking over to it and, despite it being nonliving, thanking the Gatekeeper. The little Amor bows a little and vanishes back into the crystalline Holocron.

Well, that was one way to kill four hours, Vale thinks to himself as he walks over to the mirror one more time. The Gatekeeper had given him a lot of material to think about and digest. In all honesty, it would probably take a few runs through to learn everything. However, for now he felt like he had at least a basic knowledge of what the force was, if not a working knowledge. Enough to know that Potential to use the force was not exactly common, and that if he had any potential, the chances of him being found by Amor at that exact moment were... Well... Remote would be putting it mildly.

Walking back over to the end table, Vale grabs the Holocron and gently tucks it in one of his vests pockets. Patting the pocket with a soft smile, the boy throws on his boots and washes his face before strolling out to find his new teacher. An educated guess leads him down the hall to the room of his new mentor. Pausing outside the door, Vale looks down and checks the time once more before sighing and knocking three times loudly on the door. Then, he has nothing left but to sit back and wait.
