"Thanks you master!" replied Kalen with a grin. But her question about what kind of jedi he wanted to be got him thinking. Contemplating on his life experiences and looking deep within himself to try and understand what path he wanted to see himself on, he finally replied "I don't really see myself as a healer, it doesn't feel right. And while I would like to be strong with my lightsaber skills I don't want my force powers to suffer. Maybe a path somewhere between a blademaster and force specialist, someone equally skilled in both?"

Kalza gave a nod. "The path of the sentinel. I suppose you have some experience in computer technologies? They tend to take the intelligent route as opposed the brutal or the patient one, favoured by the Guardian and Consular respectively," She explained briefly, remembering her encounters with different sentinels.

"Yes, I suppose I am a skilled enough slicer. And the way you described the sentinels really does appeal to me. Its how I have been living my life till date. I was never particularly strong physically, so I had to use my wits and other skills to get things done. Using only brawn or just trying to use the force when the use of simple logic and brains could work much better seems a little detrimental and redundant to me. A more pragmatic path appeals much more to me." replied Kalen. This suddenly sparked another question in his mind, "What about you master? Which category would you classify yourself into?"

"I am a healer, a consular and I spend much of my time within my studies. Of course - we need Jedi of every walk and calibre. But never forget your roots whilst you're out there in the galaxy, amongst such evil," Kalza warned her padawan, remembering her fallen colleagues.

Kalen nodded his understanding and made a silent vow to never turn towards the dark side. He then looked at his master, eager for his next lesson.

"Now, we must focus on refining your force abilities. Any particular ability you may have read up on that would interest you? It is essential you are as proficient in your abilities within the force as you are your lightsaber - now you have chosen to take the path of the Sentinel," Kalza said, knowing in her mind that force powers were her speciality and being pleased she could teach an in-depth lesson.

Kalen thougth for a while before replying, "Um..I don't think there's anything I have read up that particularly called out to me. What would you suggest as essential abilities that I should learn?"

"Telekinesis is always a useful ability, as is Force Pull and Push for the Niman lightsaber form," Kalza said slowly, thinking about what force powers might be appropriate for her padawan.

Kalen thought about all the things that Telekinesis could be used for, a simple ability that could be used in so many different ways. After all it was the execution that mattered, not the technique itself. "Yes, I agree with that. Telekinesis would be a great first technique to master."

"Very well!" Kalza said with a smile, thinking of how she could teach her padawan this force technique. Of course, she yet again thought back to her extensive studies in the libraries of Ossus and Tython, and her own mastery of the skill. "Telekenisis involves your whole concentration on the object of which you want to pick up and move around. So, try it now. Imagine the force as your hand, stretching out with your mind and moving the object. You are unstoppable, but be gentle," She explained, and levitated a vase on the other side of her training room, before resting it lightly back on the table. "Now, you try,"

Kalen calmed himself and let the force flow through him, let it pass around him, over him and permeate his very being. He looked at he vase and pointing his right hand at it imagined a it rising up into the air. At first nothing happened, but after some time it gave a slight wobble. Kalen tried again and this time let go of any inhibitions that were holding him back. Thinking of the force no longer as an external entity but a part of him, he again imagined the vase floating into the air and this time it did. Imagining it to be within the grasp of the force he started to move it towards its original position but in his excitement of having successfully accomplished the exercise till then he unwittingly tightened his grip on the vase and it shattered. "Oops!" he said turning to look at his master.

In fact, it would be noted that even though a probably valuable vase had just been smashed, Kalza's expression still remained both calm and neutral. She simply strolled over to the fragments of the vase, and cast a Force Shield around them, levitating all of the sharp edges into a garbage collector. "Worry not, it is fine. You must know I don't value personal possessions, I do not believe I have met a Jedi who does. For I am spiritually wealthy, not materialistically. Now, try again, this time use this bowl," She commanded, walking over to her food preparation area and getting a simple bowl out of a cupboard.

Kalen again submerged himself in the Force. He reached out to the bowl with his mind and pictured it rising into the air. As it slowly floated up he began moving his hand and the bowl started moving. This time he did not loose his concentration. Slowly but steadily the bowl moved to the other side of the room and he gently placed it on the table where the vase had originally stood. Grinning widely he turned to his master, "Wow! I did it. That was good right?"

"Perfect!" Kalza exclaimed with a smile. She paused for a moment, and then spoke again. "Now -again, practice makes perfect as they say!"

Kalen once again repeated the exercise. Lifting the bowl he moved it to its original position.

[It's fine there wasn't really a need for a long one! :CHappy]

"Very good!" Kalza said with a smile. "Now, let us move on to exercise that will use our minds. We shall communicate telepathically!" She exclaimed, the last part of her talking actually streamed directly into Kalen's bran.

Kalen heard the last few words in his head and instinctively backed up. "Cool!" he breathed out. Again submerging himself in the Force he reached with his mind and touched his masters, projecting the words Hello, can you hear me? into her mind. But when he looked at her he got no response and knew that he had been unsuccessful. Concentrating a little more he tried once more and this time he could feel that that it was going to work. He once again touched his master's mind and repeated, Master, can you hear me? This time when he looked at his master he could see from her reaction that she had indeed heard him.

"I can," Kalza said telepathically, smiling at her padawan as he had caught the skill very easily. "Does this come easy to you?" She enquired looking completely passive, as her lips were not moving.

Kalen hadn't really thought about the ease with he had been able to use Force Telepathy, but upon looking back he realized that he had indeed been quick on the uptake. "I don't know," he replied "I guess I have always found mental exercises a little easier to pick up. Always have been a quick study. But this time I think its more to do with me being a little more confident of myself after managing to get the hang of telekinesis. I find it easier to pick up things when I am more relaxed or in good mood. I remember one of my academy instructors who taught me lightsaber basics used to scare the crap out of me and I could never pick up anything he taught me, but when I changed instructors I managed to pick the same things up much more easily. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much into it and it was just plain beginers luck?"

"I am the same. Telekenisis was a good basis technique for many other, it can be used mildly to lift a cup or so strong to throw a boulder. Now, what is the next technique you wanted to learn? Surely you've read up on some that interest you?" Kalza said earnestly.
