What is going to happen in your plot? My character Callum Attar is, alongside Darth Tagus, going to attempt to complete the +10 assignment of the IGBC: Expanding upon existing trade agreements.

What other players will be a part of this? @Nefieslab (@Darth Tagus)

Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place? Coruscant

Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.

The Plot itself takes place part-way through a bigger story.

The Setup: This is information that happened before the events of the Plot take place, and that the Plot itself will bring to light.
Sith Acolyte Callum Attar has chosen to take up an assignment issued by the Empire: To intimidate Mok Januun, a member of the IGBC who is, as a result of a personal vendetta, using his influence to forcefully limit transactions in an Imperial Space trade route. Now, instead of forceful intimidation as the assignment dictated, Callum has, through very underhanded means, obtained sensitive information that he's preparing to use to blackmail Januun instead. What he doesn't know is that the assignment was originally issued by Darth Tagus, who had been keeping an eye on the proceedings, and figures things aren't going the way they should.

Present time: The run-down of the Plot itself.
Callum (who at this point is still none the wiser) reports that Januun has capitulated and that the assignment is moments away from completion. He is then consequently summoned to report of his actions before a panel. A common, bureaucratic thing. Callum is shocked to find a Darth (Tagus) among the panelists, but carries on with his original plan: To lie through his teeth about how Mok was brought to heel, for the truth would damage his reputation. The report ends with the Acolyte sweating bullets, but oddly without too much of a hitch.

Once the official report has been logged, Tagus personally summons Callum to a more private setting and confronts him, forcing the man to admit the truth and tell the actual story. Also maybe put the fear of God into an Acolyte who was brazen enough to lie to his face.

A lesson having been taught, the duo now finally use the aforementioned blackmail material to force Januun to not only restore the flow he'd limited, but now actively use his influence to facilitate it. Everyone gets to keep face at the end, provided they don't step out of line in the future.

Ironically, the Acolyte who shamelessly blackmailed someone now finds himself in a worryingly similar position, on a much grander stage.

What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"? I intend to use it to establish a relationship between my character and Darth Tagus, and set my character on a personal path for the 10-year TS on the way. Also, help push the Empire closer towards the faction reward, and get one of the character rewards. Callum originally chose the assignment to show he's doing something, and then proceeded to get dragged along for the ride.

Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose. None needed.

I'm assuming these are both going to be Self-DM threads? If you could include which thread types you are using.

@Raydo Apologies. This was the first plot I submitted and I didn't want to give you a thread list or type, because I had assumed it'd be your call and wanted to follow that template to the letter. Perhaps it might help if it's like this? Let me know if you'd prefer me to replace it with the original post, or something.

Level 1
Acolyte

Participants

@Callum Attar Me
@Darth Tagus @Nefieslab

Intended Outcome:

Successful completion of the +10 assignment of the IGBC: Expanding upon existing trade agreements. Also, to establish a complicated working relationship between Callum and Tagus.

Background Information: *

Sith Acolyte Callum Attar has taken up an assignment offered up by the Empire: A member of the IGBC, named Mok Januun, who has been using his influence to limit trades in an Imperial Space Route, as a result of a personal vendetta, and the Acolyte was to bring him into the fold. Instead, through underhanded means, Attar finds himself with blackmail material on Januun.

What the Acolyte doesn't know is, the assignment was issued directly by Darth Tagus, who has been keeping an ear to the ground. And, when Attar reports that his job has been all but completed, Tagus smells a rat.

Thread Breakdown:

A Man of Wealth and Taste Upon giving the Empire the notice that his assignment was nearing completion, Callum is summoned to Coruscant to make an official report. A normal, bureaucratic ordeal, even for a Sith. In this thread, naturally, the Acolyte planned to lie through his teeth, believing that the truth would tarnish his reputation. He is surprised to find that, among the panel of those he is to report to, is a bone fide Darth, but stays his course, and weirdly it goes without too much of a hitch.

Traps for Troubadours With the Official Report now logged onto the Imperial database, and Callum's lie now set in stone, Tagus - who now firmly believes there is something fishy going on - summons Callum privately and confronts him, forcing him to spill the beans on what actually happened... And maybe put the fear of God into an Acolyte with the audacity to so brazenly lie to his face.

The Nature of My Game A harsh lesson taught, there was still an assignment to complete. So, this Sith duo now make their way to contact Januun, and use the aforementioned blackmail material to force the IGBC member to not only restore flow, but now actively use his influence to facilitate it. In the end, everyone gets to keep face but ironically, this Acolyte who has just successfully and shamelessly blackmailed a valued individual in a powerful Galactic Organisation, now finds himself in a worryingly similar situation, on a much grander stage.
