DESCRIPTION
As the Galactic Civil War came to an end, the New Republic suddenly found itself on the side of the law, rather than hiding from it. The many Imperial war criminals scattered to the Rim and needed to be brought in, alive, for judgement on Chandrila and later Nakadia. As such a ship designed to transport a single prisoner out of potentially hostile space was called for. Incom originally provided the design, but the Republic demanded that they put most production work toward the upcoming T-70. Therefore, Subpro, venerable makers of the Z-95 Headhunter were given the role of being the actual manufacturer. The original design team from Incom were still given oversight so the project was plagued by bickering. As such the model entered production two months after the T-70’s release. Despite being based on an earlier model X-Wing, it still became immensely popular among hunters and rangers. Even after the Hosnian Cataclysm shattered the New Republic, production continued for another three decades into the Free Worlds Era. While production ceased in 68ABY, they are still a common sight in the Rim and beyond, often serving on the fringes of Wild Space. Rumor is that Incom is developing a successor based on it's newer models, but for now the aged PT will maintain a warm place in the hearts of frontier law.
As for the ship itself, it is much akin to it's base, the T-65B. However the main cockpit is raised back and completely separate from the prisoners, strategically placed in front. This main seat is nearly identical to the B's, but the front seat is quite stark. Lacking controls or indicators, it simple contains a seat and four stun cuffs to secure the arms and legs of a typical humanoid. A holoprojector sits in front of the prisoner, originally used to contact legal services in transit. This service has ended, but it can be modified to connect to the holonet, for carefully monitored calls. While often threats are made to space the prisoner, Subpro ensured that doing so is impossible. This has not stopped "bad cops" from tampering, or at least claiming to tamper with the magnetic seals. The ship has been stripped of it's military grade missile systems entirely allowing it to maintain a decent speed of 90 MGLT
LEGALITY
Restricted. The T-65PT was originally designed for law enforcement, and to possess one without a badge or BHG membership is seen as highly suspicious. However, it is technically only limited to typical starfighter licensing requirements.INTENT
To create a fighter to better suit Rangers and Bounty Hunters who both want a fighter but the ability to transport prisoners. Also, changes in arms and thrust make it distinct enough from the T-70T to be its own vehicle, seeing as it is not intended to be a toned down trainer.RESTRICTIONS
N/A.
