Within the dark halls of the academy, one room remained lit from each corner with a torch. Each light shining brilliantly to combat the shadow and give life into the room. The stone walls and dusty floor seemed to shed a cold touch; one that not even the torches could warm. This room was very familiar to the life within; Lukor had studied here when he first joined the order, so long ago. Then, he was the apprentice. For the first time, he would be the master.

Lukor had elected to train the sith hopeful, otherwise known as "Nalnaal'dira". From what he had known, she was a twi'lekk and one with a pretty haunting past. Details were scattered and nothing was for sure, but Lukor was sure of one thing and that was potential; something that hate could fuel. Lukor sat relaxed on a large carpet; dull and rough, like the rest of the academy. However, technology was still present.

A datapad, containing the basic principals that the Sith Empire held, lay across from him as well as a holo-recorder in the ceiling. In order to track his apprentice's progress, Lukor would need to observe her; exploit weaknesses and force this into her. Today's test would be a rather simple process; the testing of the mind.

The tall, haunting come-hither Twi'lek walked into the large, square room, lit only by the four torches. Sentinels in the dark. The violent, meek light lit her red skin to a ruddy bloodletting. Her rich amber eyes glowed in the fire, like a cat's. The gold of her lips flickered, giving the illusion of liquid fire. A striking first impression. She wore a simple black dress, barren of any ornament, no back or sleeve. The blue crystal of her headdress glared when she moved. gazing at the room for a moment, she entered fully, glaring at the man relaxing on the carpeted floor. Memories of Tosam flooded her, and a wave of nearly material anger filled the room. "Are you to be my... trainer?" She asked, her words laden with bitter venom.

"Nalnaal'dira?"

Lukor turned his sunken and pointed face to get a glimpse of his new apprentice. Indeed this was his new protege; and a lethan twi'lek, a rare honor. Standing up, his frail form faceing the twi'lek, scanned the female.

"I am."

The anger seething from his new apprentice was quite visible, and potent. However, much of the anger was still wild; uncontrolled. Today would require patience.

"No. Not to you. Only a choice few may call me that. I am Nalana Al'dira. My home name may only be spoken by other Twi'lek." Nalana replied, crossing her arms across her chest and staring hard at Lukor. She would force herself to give him some respect, he was stronger and more knowledgeable than her. Although she hated to admit it.

With a smile, Lukor raised his hands; palms open and pointed at the twi'lek in a form of surrender.

"Forgive me, if I offend."

However, his smile turned serious and his hands dropped to his sides. Cracking his neck, Lukor beckoned his apprentice forward.

"Today, I am going to see your affinity to knowledge and the force. First and foremost, the first and rather pathetic test on your path to power; the Sith Code."

Staring into the hopefuls eyes, Lukor observed the hatred swirling like a whirlpool. The red skin seemed to contribute to the anger swelling up inside, however anger was nothing but stone. For it to become a diamond, it would require punishment.

Nalana did not reply to Lukor's apology, he didn't deserve it. As for the Sith code... "I have been her a grand four days. I have been kept under heavy lock and key, with escorts whenever I left my room. Do you believe I know anything of your code?" She asked bitterly, her eyes scrutinizing him.

Lukor's expression turned slightly stale.

"While I understand your predicament, sass is something that will not be taken. While I am taking you under my wing, I will not accept disrespectful nature. I will allow your first mistake slide for now."

Straightening up, Lukor grabbed both his hips.

"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me."

It had been a while since Lukor had to recite the code, yet the flow of words remained a strong reminder of how one was to become stronger.

"To think us creatures beyond the need of simple passions is a delusion. Examine the code; learn it, become it. We are taught that unless victory is achieved by demonstrating power was superior, it was not true victory. The stronger one becomes in the force, the more power one could achieve. Understand, however, that you must always fight for that power. You have five minutes. In that time, you must learn the code; pledge yourself to it. Unless you are too weak or scared of course..."

Nalana silently fumed at Lukor. She would have to learn to stay her tongue if she was to get anywhere in this dreadfull hierarchy, she told herself. The code was eloquent, but nothing else. It served as a simple guidline for those willing to serve. Nalana was not willing to serve, but she was willing to pretend she was. She admited that the code was easy to follow, and its ideals were... intriguing.

"Fear is useless. Only against your enemy does it become usefull." Nalana replied in a cold voice, like ice wine. "I discarded of fear years ago." She added, her voice becomming dark, heavy. "I'll pledge myself to your code. If it will get me what I seek."

"Then recite it."

Holding his hands, behind his back, Lukor looked disapproving of his new student. She still had much to learn, if fear was only to be used against an enemy. Lukor grinned at his new student, raising and dropping his eyebrows in a quick motion.

"

Nalnaal'dira recited the code, her eyes locked on Lukor's. She knew then that their master/pupil relationship would be incredibly strenuous and tense. She smiled, she would not want it any other way. "I swear that I shall follow this code, in all my aspirations and desires." She added, her eyes flickering a brilliant orange in the firelight, before dieing down.

"Good."

Using the force, Lukor drew upon a small knife; incapable of serious injury but sharp nonetheless. The aging man began a steady pace, walking at his apprentice whilest rubbing the flat of his thumb slowly across the surface of the blade.

"To join the sith, you must be willing to have the scars that will forever bind you to us."

This was a good test. If the twi'lekk was willing to sacrifice herself to the sith, her training would require less badgering. Should she resist, training would be more difficult.

Nalana's hands tightened in a fist. The bastard! She silently fumed. He was telling him to mare her skin. Her, a Twi'lek! Renowned across the galaxy for their flawlessness. She knew this would be required for her to advance. She gritted her teeth as she thought of the degradation of such an act. "Where?" She finally asked, glaring at Lukor with much hate.

"Your shoulder-blade."

Stroking his index finger on the ridge of the knife, Lukor gazed at his reflection and then to his apprentice.

"Your face. If you have seen Rudolf Shinzor around, you will get an idea..."

Stroking his index finger on the ridge of the knife, Lukor gazed at his reflection and then to his apprentice.
(((If I can Photoshop a scar in, then sure. If not, can we please not have it on the face? I like my characters portraits to be precise.)))
