A technolith (amalgamation of the words "technology" and "monolith") was a type of large monolithic machine artifact that could be found across the surface of the planet Iokath. They were built several centuries ago by the species that originally populated Iokath.

Function

Technoliths were artifacts that once functioned as hubs to access a network across Iokath that was very similar in conception to the HoloNet. They were also able to function as long-range communication devices. With the fall of Iokath, many technoliths were destroyed, but a handful remain.

Though the network they were once capable of accessing has long since gone down, they can still function as a communication device—among the few able to to puncture the strange electrical anomalies that prevent ordinary communication on the planet. Technoliths can also be hacked and pinged off of one another, allowing the slicer to locate other technoliths scattered across Iokath's surface.

Intent

A recreation of these from Legends to flavor the lore of Iokath. Not posting in tech because 1) basic communication devices already are over there, 2) they can't be taken off of Iokath, and 3) they're more archaic artifacts than anything else.
