Technology questions

I don't know if this is the board for it, but I'm having trouble designing ships and knowing what kind of battleships/freighters/starfighters are available. The oldest ship designs I can find are 4,000 bby, so Z-95s or Cloakshapes won't cut it, and I doubt anything taking place during this RP will look like anything in the more modern series.

So basically, any ship examples or technology will be greatly appreciated, I'm thinking about making a spacer character next and need to know whats plausible in this timeline and whats not.

In essence, shields are crap, hyperdrives are slow as hell, and laser-cannon are the newest tech on the market. The best trick I've seen done so far, is finding a picture that you like, slapping a name on it along with a set of decent stats, and just plastering that up.

Hmm, well if you have a freighter or fighter pic (havent decided which I'm going to use) I'd definitely appreciate it, it's gotta look fast though to fit in with my character's theme

Go to wookieepedia and find transport pics. Then do what Markus says.

To be perfectly honest, there's nothing on wookieepedia that'll help much. We're way too far behind. There's a few pics you can grab, but most of it will be easily I.D.'d Not that it's a bad thing, but I certainly don't think we want a sudden spamming of yt-1300's and x-wing's with different names.

Personally, I suggest spending a little time with either Deviant Art (with their crappy ass new search engine >.>) or google. The two best searches for ships I've found (I've done a lot of searching :P) are "Starship" (also "star ship", some people put a space in there for some reason) and "Space ship -"space ship one"" (the quotes around space ship one are required; it sorts out that specific block of text. People like spamming those pics). You might also want to try "star freighter", idk what you'll get tho.
