All I know is blood and sand.
King of the crimson ring, alone I stand.
Ruler of none, not even my soul/
Still I fight, put on a show.
They don't care, they just want to see pain.
So I scream to the crowd...'Are you not entertained!?!'
In the dark of my cell, one line is spoken.
I say to myself, 'I shall not be broken.'

— Childhood —
Crying. That's how it always starts. While everyone around you is smiling. Or should be. Do you know what it's like to be ripped away from warmth and safety? To have the light pierce your eyes like a knife because you have grown in the dark? Every child does. And so I was born to a mother and father who did not want to hear such a sound. Who saw me as something of value to be traded. So the Hutts wiped their debts in potential of what I could be molded into, what I can do for the fat slugs who sat so pompous upon their foul thrones. As a newborn I was thrown squalling into a crate and shipped from the hospital to palace of Gerglixx the Corpulent and his infamous Crimson Ring. So my childhood? I never had one, nor do I grieve for it's loss. There's not point in looking back and wishing for whaat could have been. All I, anyone, can do is forge ahead with all the strength one can muster.

---Unbloodied---
Do you know hunger? True hunger? I doubt it. In the dank, foul pits of the Crimson Ring is where I was truly born. And died. Children tossed when they reached five, with nothing but the rags they wore, into the pitch blank void we knew as home. No more gruel, no more milk. We fought over mushrooms and rats. Over stagnant water teeming with insects. Waste lay where it fall...as did corpses. True hunger...it's what I saw in those pits. As some devoured others to survive once they lay still...some didn't wait that long. Like animals they treated us, like animals we became. Until the rust covered gate screamed open and they herded us out into the still carrion-covered sands of the ring. Gerglixx himself chuckled as he watched the human vermin, blinded by the suns scurry around before his majordomo began to speak.

"Kill or be killed. Prey or predator. Strength is all there is. Prove your's and you shall be rewarded. Fail, and die." The fat Twi'lekk yelled to the huddled masses. Together we had survived even when we turned on each other. We still had others. But now, uncomprehending, we all looked to one another. Even as such small children, hardened as we may be and jaded, we turned to look silently in defiance as only a child can who knows more...until they brought out the food. And that's when our animal nature was once again awakened...when we lost any chance we had. It was the day end of the beginning. I wills peak no more of what happened...what horrors I saw, endured and caused...but know that at the end. I stood alone in blood that was not all mine. Covered in it and sand...Dust Devil they called me.

---King of the Ring---
Years passed...I didn't know, nor care, how many. I killed more than I could count. Beasts, men; it didn't matter. My goal, my only purpose in life. Was to win. To survive and endure. There was no emotion when I fought. It was just what had to be done. I wanted to eat, to live comfortably. So I did as the crowd demanded. 'Blood...Blood!' They screamed, echoing across the sands. The sands I ruled as the lone champion. I had to keep the happy, entertained. Always making it more interesting. For if the crowd turned...if they grew bored. It didn't matter if you always won. I didn't count the bodies or scars. They were as natural as breathing to me.

Now don't let me lie. There were others who survived long before they faced me or if Gerglixx wanted some different kinds of fights. So yes, I met and talked to others. But none were like me and you could never let anyone close. For the next day you may be killing your friend, bathing in their blood as your sword finishes a deadly arc. So I stayed away a much as I could. The lone king of the ring. I won't say I didn't yearn for more. But I knew what I was, what I had to be. But that didn't mean I wasn't defiant in smaller ways. For I still hated my 'master' with the burning fury of a thousand suns. So while others asked for companionship, delicacies, and anything else to hide their reality if only for awhile; I asked for holobooks. I studied. Everything. Battle tactics, languages, other worlds and races. I slowly came to realize...this mockery of a life would not sate me. So I came obsessed with knowledge between my victories in the Crimson Ring.

It was this burning desire that would save me.

I wasn't aware but I was of an uncanny intelligence. On twentieth birthday, as I found out later, I was ready. Using seemingly innocent items, I constructed in secrets weapons beyond blades. Explosives, guns, and even two simple droids. Gerglixx had his own birthday celebration that was nearing the end after a week. Poetic justice I thought to myself. I spoke to the others, their King of the Ring; the Dust Devil. They were with me if it was my will. And it was. You could see the smoke from Mos Eisley that day. We spared none and left the Corpulent's corpse to be feasted on by his own beasts. I spit on him before the shuttles arrived and soldiers of white surrounded those of us that have survived. And then the dark one came. Saw my potential, killed the rest. Asked me, 'Now why did I spar you?"

I answered. 'The weak are meat and the strong do eat.'

The Sith smiled at that and beckoned me onto the shuttle.

---The Prodigal---
To the academy I was sent. Only to be there for two years as I excelled past them all. All these blue bloods and ignorant, pompous fools who know nothing of combat. I showed them never to underestimate anyone. Especially one you considered a barbarian or lesser. For your arrogance will always be your downfall. I graduated top of the class with all honors. I was ready to forge myself in more than blood and sand. No this Empire I was part of wasn't perfect, but they had given me a chance to be more after I freed myself. And I saw how the past Republic had been a broken thing with their cowardly Jedi. Honestly, I'm not a fan of either, but the Empire could provide some sort of stability. So of my own will, I will serve. Use my strength and intelligence for more than destruction. I am master of my own destiny.

This is the end of the beginning.
Now my true story begins, beyond simple winning.
Free of chains, I am remade.

Credit for the template goes to Bee. Sorry for the rather rough post. Will be working on smoothing it out, polishing it a bit better. It's intentionally vague on some parts as I believe true history and such should be discovered through interaction and roleplay. Thanks in advanced for the feedback!

Twenty-two seems a little excessive to be a master/expert of so many skills, doesn't it?

I'd probably go into specifics about exactly which languages he knows.

Not at all in my personal opinion. Eight skills is hardly excessive. He cannot swim, pilot a ship. He is naturally and highly intelligent. Been fighting from birth. Some skills are natural and one he is trying to learn. Now if it was a dozen different and varied skills, I would agree. However I only listed the ones he has used over the course of his life.

And two is hardly 'a master of so many skills.'

Engineering is a very broad field. 'Melee combat' can be broken down into different weapon types, as well as unarmed styles. I feel like it would look better if you actually did go into detail about those skills rather than just throwing a whole kitchen sink worth of stuff as being his mastery. Somebody could have excellent knowledge on how to create and maintain droids, but if you told them to fix a tank they'd get into some difficulties I expect. It just makes a character come across as more... hm, thought out I suppose? When you can narrow down the details of what they're good at in their field, as well as what they only have basic knowledge on, they come across as a bit more specialised and thus believable.

And two is hardly 'a master of so many skills.'
Coupled with him being an expert at others and given that he's a mere 22, I'd argue it is. At least in my opinion.

I didn't want to clutter up the sheet by having to list sub-fields of Engineering or weapon skills. I happen to know how broad the categories I put up are, and I even said I apologize for how rough it is. And after looking at several character sheets I still think mine is very tame considering. Having axe, sword, droid, vehicle, etc would make the mundane skill list much longer as if I was trying to make a more powerful character right from the start and get the reaction you seem to have already from a minimalist standpoint.
