Biography
Thaed's beginnings are humble, having been birthed to wind farmers on Dantooine. From an early age, he displayed an auspicious connection to the natural world. His parents owed this fact to their surroundings but soon came around to the idea of there being something more to their son. He first showed signs of being gifted by adjusting their turbines on the fly and from afar in response to the changing wind patterns, increasing the productivity of the operation significantly. Thaed radiated with a welcoming and peaceable presence which had the knack of putting people at ease and mitigating tension. This was an obvious boon for the family’s contract and deal brokering and the young boy was soon sitting into these talks.
An adolescent Thaed found his gifts lucrative when it came to dealing with unruly pests and wildlife among the farms and homesteads dotting Dantooine’s landscape, all without the need for violence. He also found work bargaining with the various import and export contracts between parties, many off-world. This soon caught the interested ear of a Jedi who traveled to the system under the guise of a business entity with interest in Dantooine. The Jedi sound found himself acquiescing to Thaed’s deportment but understood it to be a most subtle handling of the Force. His parents had long conceded the knowledge that Thaed was bound for more than just wind farming and with a tender and loving goodbye, watched Thaed and the Jedi leave for Yavin IV.
Thaed has spent most of his life traveling to other Temples and studying, lecturing, training, and living the Jedi way, all but refusing to take up arms or violence to advance their ideals. However, times are changing and so must Thaed.
Personality
Thaed is an avowed pacifist which, at times, has put him at odds with the Order and its goals. Never one to shrink away from a task, Thaed goes about his duty with the idealistic conviction that anything and everything can be achieved through nonviolence and patience. Unafraid to sit and meditate on more tenacious issues, the Order has often dispatched other members for a quicker resolution, to the chagrin of both parties. The wizened Knight has voiced his concern with the strategy of the Order and its haste, which has limited his opportunities for advancement. Despite his age, Thaed seems unperturbed with this arrangement and, for all intents and purposes, remains ready, willing, and grateful to serve the Order.
Skills
Thaed has all but eschewed the task and practice of mastering the lightsaber and its forms. He wears the weapon ceremoniously but none could say the last time the Knight was seen wielding it. Rather, he has spent considerable time and energy studying the underlying currents that are the Force. Diplomacy, negotiating, socializing, and communication are Thaed’s other strengths.
