The Admiral stared into the holotank. Fighters. Fools. They would have to pass the minefield first. That would thin numbers.

''Disgorge fighters. Tell fighter-bomber wings to enter the standby phase.''

Clouds of figters swept from a multitude of hanger bays in the fleet. They waited behind the minefields obscuring the Taung fighters. Any that got through the fatal maze would be shot down with sheer weight of firepower.

The fighters stopped twelve thousand yards from the minefield before there intense fire shot from there guns, if this was to be a fair battle they would need to get though this minefield so the shots from the fighters had one target...The mines.

Depending on whether it would work they did not know but the scout ship's assault against the orbital guns.

OOc: Wasn't 100% but assume the orbital guns are on the outside the minefield?

The droid projecting the hologram of Gorrbag watched the battle unfold just has Mandalore had watched it. Everything was going to hell really fast, the defenses over Corellia were thick and too strong to break yet. Gorrbag regretted this action, and knew he had only one option if he wanted to save his best soldier to avoid the troubles of finding another.

"Mandalore, it seems we may have made a blunder. Fall back to safety, this is too hot even for you. The Republic forces here are too strong and they are not backing down. You must retreat now!"

Gorrbag demanded to Mandalore, not sure if the prideful Taung warrior would listen to him or not. He was well prepared to force him to return however...

OOC: each orbital gun is behind the minefields, and as they are in geostationary orbit, they have a firing 'corridoor', clear of mines, as the minefields are in geo orbit too.

''Sir, they are blasting through the minefield.'' Flag Captain Harbreem called from the command console

''So? Keep firing then! Fool Harbreem!'' The Admiral replied coldly. While the fighters dallied, the guns of the main fleet kept streaking into the Taung main fleet formation, whilst fighters hung back like swarms of angry locusts.

"Retreat? Are you mad slug? This is a battle of fantastic proportions. The Republic has every advantage here and I have none. I am truly here to test my ability! I will not run! I can turn the Republic fleet soon, there minefield cannot be around the entire planet and must be wafer thin in places!"

The thought alone bristled him as his scout ship's agility managed to keep them away from the main fire while the Carrier continued to get some barrages taking great chunks of hard mandalorian iron from it's hull as the ship's combat effectiveness declined with most power being kept towards it's shield however with the orbital guns firing down small corridors in the minefield it constricted the guns ability to hit targets. The fighters and scout ships however raced up and down the minefield continueing to pour fire into the minefield attempting to make pathways though the mines.

As Taung fighters opened corridoors in the minefield, the dispersion of fighters changed, allowing the weakest areas to be reinforced when Taung fighters would inevitabley pour through. The Orbital guns continued, ripping at the larger ships of the Taung formation. Combining with the one-sided level of fire from the defenders, holes would inevitably begin to appear in the enemy battlegroup.

"I do not care how many you can take down, you are no good to me or your warriors as a burnt corpse floating around in space. It is not a request, I am telling you to get your filthy taung ridden ass back to Nal Hutta right now!"

Gorrbag yelled, not in any mood for Mandalore's pride or personal thoughts on the battle. As futile as it was, the droid that carried the hologram around opened a small hatch under it's belly as a small metallic arm came out with what appeared to be a blaster barrel at the end and started to aim it at the Mandalore. Of course it was non lethal, but it would deliver quite a shock if the stubborn beast did not respond correctly

Mandalore's pride was something that would not get in the way of his mission for his people, he would not be a prideful fool of a Taung but even so being ordered by this grimy piece of slug but he knew he had no choice, he was no moron and his honour would not get in the way off his entire race being whiped out....But this Hutt would pay...He would pay.

"All Fighters disengage and move back to the carrier, all scout ship's disengage and move back to Nal Hutta, Now!"

Several scout ship's continued there fire on the mines in the vain attempt to start a chain reaction which strangely did not seem to off happened, however they quickly moved off and raced towards the hyperspace window before they began to punch in hyperspace coordinates, a timely exercise.

Several scout ship's had declared there undying allegiance to Mandalore and continued there assault on the minefield covering the withdraw of the main fleet.

The ships went into hyperspace while the scout ships remained behind and were destroyed by the Republic.
