This is a call to all privateers, swashbucklers, scallywags, freebooters, raiders, marauders, corsairs, bandits, scoundrels, picaroons...
You get the point right? We want pirates! The Republic has gone to hell in handbasket, and in its absence the time feels right for the highwaymen of the hyperlanes to rise up.
Now, in terms of history and organization I'm looking to try something a little different here. Instead of a space-faring empire or a single, massive crew, I'm aiming for a loose confederation of independent pirate captains ala the Republic of Pirates or the Brethren of the Coast. Meaning that me and whoever is part of the faction at the beginning will become part of the Claw's ruling council of captains, with new additions also joining the council. Ranks will be handed out, therefore, are merely how much de facto clout someone has within the council, and how experienced they are in the pillaging arts.
Something else we will be doing is starting from the very bottom, a friendly port on Takodana and everything our captains bring to the table will be our only assets. I think this will both provide a real interesting challenge for us as a group, but also give us a lot of room to expand. We can engage in piracy, smuggling, raid space stations, blockade space ports, even perform privateering jobs for other factions.
My one and only request right now? If you decide to voice interest, include a picture of the colors you intend to mark your ship with, and burn into the frightened minds of our prey.
