He pulled himself to his feet, rubbing his neck. He cleared his throat,
“I meant no disrespect to you, mistress,” he almost winced, and could not believe he was saying these words, but he swallowed his pride, “I’m sorry.”

Maeva was happy he had stopped being smug, but he should never apologize.

"Never apologize. I will teach you how to Force Jump now. First, focus on the Force around you and pull it down, like a spring. Then jump up and let the Force expand around you. It should propel you up. Watch me"

She did as she had instructed her apprentice and jumped onto the ledge where she had learned how to Force Jump.

He walked over to where she had leapt from. As he was there he felt something, a tiny echo in the Force, as though it had a place here. He looked up at the ledge and bent his knees. He felt the Force and jumped. He felt it, like a gust of wind, rushing up below him, propelling him upwards. Once he was up, he focused on the problem of landing. He aimed next to his tutor, bent his knees and thought of landing. It was as though the Force absorbed the heavier shock waves of the landing and he landed fairly lightly.

Maeva just watched him. She wanted to see how quick his reflexes were now. She waited until he was up and everything before summoning the Force and sending him over the cliff. She walked closer to the ledge to see how he landed.

He was alarmed as the burst of energy fired him off of the ledge. Banishing that, he thought clearly of where he was and used his momentum to somersault over, legs now facing below. Then he dipped into the Force to slow his jump. He landed just as heavily as the first time, but was uninjured. He looked up at the ledge and leapt once more, this time giving him enough momentum to spiral over his mistress and land on the cliff side of her. He landed softer this time, gently bowed and raised his arm, sending his own wave of the Force, at her.

Maeva knew what he had done and absorbed the Force in her hand and sent a shock wave back of him even harder. She was not going to let this apprentice push her around. Maybe she needed to give him a few scars.

As he felt it zoom back at him he leapt up. Below him the Force energy smashed into the cliff face sending rocks tumbling. As he came to the top of his jump he reached and grabbed a small crack on the rock face. The ledge his teacher was on began to fall away from the rock face. Hanging on he looked down as the ledge Maeva was standing on shook again; it looked fairly unstable.

Maeva leaped into the air and landed on the main rock again. As she landed she called her lightsaber to her hand and ignited it. The red blade danced to her side.

"Want to fight now?"

He looked at her blood red blade, “An apprentice with a vibrosword versus a knight with a lightsaber…I maybe headstrong but I’m not plain stupid.”

He decided for now he would have to take her assaults as tests, as that what they must be, but the Sith used their strength to quash any assaults on them, so if she did not want him to use his strength in that way, what was she truly looking for? He decided that he was better using his mind to the situation at hand, looking back at her, waiting for her to respond.

"Good. Follow me"

She jumped off the cliff and started to walk back toward the academy. She was going to teach him the same way she had learned. She was weak then and she had been punished for it, but now he would learn.

After about a five minute walk they entered a prison. There were many cells with people in them, some dead and some alive.

"These are people that have disobeyed us and we have brought them here for punishment"

She stopped talking. She wanted to see his response before she continued.

The prison was dark, and reeked with pain and suffering in the Force. It seemed to fuel his strength, as though he fed off of it. He sensed her tone and added to her statement,

“…And you want me to punish them,” it was not a question; he knew that was her next lesson; causing pain and suffering in others and enjoying it was the way of the Sith, and now it would be Dar’s way too. He waited for authorisation from his mistress, feeling the Force flow through him.

"Not Yet. First, I will teach you a new Force power, persuade"

She started to pace around the dungeon as she explained what he would learn next.

"It is to be used on the weak minded. I want you to delve into their conscious and make them do what you want"

Dar looked into a cell and beckoned one of the men to him. He gingerly staggered over, clearly injured. Dar looked deeply at him, his eyes boring into the more diminutive man. He willed him to do what he asked, nay what he told him,

"Your cellmate is evil."

"My cellmate is...evil?" the prisoner looked quizzical, not convinced. Dar willed more and felt the Force on his side, willing him too.

"Your. Cell. Mate. Is. Evil." Dar emphasised every word, underlining it with the Force.

"My cellmate is evil."

"You must attack him." Said Dar, just as strongly but more flowing and less staccato.

"I must attack him." said the man, turning back to his cell and walking over to the other wretch laying on the floor, half dead.

"That was good, but now I want you to show them your power. I will teach Force Lightning now. Focus the Force through your fingers and unleash it on that prisoner you instructed to kill his cell mate"

Torture was the way of the Sith and Dar was happy to partake in such an act. He felt anger for this pathetic wretch. He raised both of his arms and roared as Force energy burst forth from his fingers. It dissipated a few inches from his hand and he felt embarressed. He turned this into anger and tried again, this time feeling the Force energy enter the man, electrifying him in a blaze of blue light.

Maeva did not say anything to him. She lead him out of the prison room, leaving the dead bodies to rot, and walked into a small workroom.

"I want you to create your lightsaber. All the supplies you need are here"

She walked over to a corner and sat down cross-legged. She fell deep into meditation while he worked.

He took to the workbench and looked over the supplies. Essentially he had no clue where to begin; he had never even began to make weapons before, but he had been a mechanic on Kuat. He closed his eyes in a kind of standing meditation and it was as though somebody painted the blueprints of a lightsaber...no his lightsaber on his eyelids. He worked meticulously for hours, his teacher silent behind him. He finally clicked the last piece into place and closed the casing. He held the metal cylinder in his right hand and turned around. He switched it on and a blood mred beam eminated from its blade with a low humming noise.

Maeva opened her eyes slowly and stood up. She walked over to her apprentice and held her hand out. She needed to examine his lightsaber before it would be accepted.

He switched it off and gave it to her, quietly confident that it was okay at least. It worked and he had poured himself into it as he meticulously worked

She took it and held it out. She thumbed the trigger and the red blade sprang to life. She inspected it carefully then unignited it and handed the plain hilt back to him.

Behind her a droid rolled out of a secret cavern and came toward him. She backed up and pushed a trigger.

"Destroy him"
