The buzzing in Ares head started almost instantly when the group got to floor 414, but because it was coming from everywhere at once the sudden realization that practically the entire floor was a trap didn’t hit Ares until the door behind them burst open. He expected some kind of resistance, but nothing as organized as what was waiting for them. It was as if they had known they were coming for a time, being able to set up like they did. The man standing before them barking orders almost seemed to ooze pain and suffering, it was enough to disrupt Ares's train of thought, and made his right eye twitch.

He dropped his slug thrower like the scum asked, but only to free his hand up for his knife. Ares quickly pulled it out of his boot with a blinding speed as he lunged at the masked man. Rage filled the bounty hunters soul but he managed to keep a relatively level head. Self preservation was not a top priority to Ares as he went for the mans throat. His attack would for sure push the masked villain and himself into the room behind them, where Ares would be able to handle him personally.

Distracted from Shawn’s incompliance and audacity the hidden Balosar turned, blade raised threateningly.

“I’ll give you something to shut that mouth with if you don’t -”


The disguised figure dropped back with a exclamation as Ares fell upon him.

The blade stuck in his neck turning the shout into a gurgle as he drowned in blood

He lost his grip of BelleBlair’s Lekku, pulling one if its tight sleeves off and taking it with him to the floor. Wreathing beneath the hunter, he slashed furiously with the butcher blade.

The Twi’lek gave a small cry of pain and held the stem of her tchun tenderly, the tail quickly wrapped around her neck like a scarf or frightened pet seeking sanctuary and consolation.

The men went wild with the assault of their leader and sent shots blazing, lighting up the hall.

BelleBlair leaned against the door way and they drew near, blast lighting the surroundings

With little thought, desperation and lure of reuniting with her niece clouding her judgment She tore open the door.

It tricked a hidden flash grenade.


The blast blinded and sent her airborne from its barrage - as did the advancing gunman.

They crashed into the wall, sending some still shooting and others rid of their weapons from the impact.

Shawn threw one of the knives that were in his boot at one of the guards nailing him in the chest at the same time Ares tackled the masked man. But then the entire hall lit up with gun fire, and Shawn hit the deck and grabbed his SST when a blast of a heavy flash grenade went off sending the guards flying Shawn took the chance to clear his side of the hall but by the time he got to his other flank the ones who weren’t looking at the grenade and were nearest the other wall were already recovered and opened fire on him Shawn jump into the room Ares jumped into to avoid the enemies oncoming fire.

The masked mans vibro-knife left a deep gash in Ares chest plate. Of course he ignored it, and instead went for the mans throat again. Ares pulled the knife out and stuck his fingers in the open wound and viciously tore at it with animalistic force. With an open hole he grabbed the mans trachea and ripped it out. The bounty hunters eyes were wide and his pupil's were dilated due to the mass amount of adrenaline running through his veins. Ares was about to remove another source of pain from the galaxy by returning said pain in full. He couldn’t have been happier.

The noise, death, and confusion were drowned out by his own thoughts, and the increasing buzzing in his ears as he got closer and closer to the masked man. Who was now oozing blood out of his mouth and what was left of his throat.

While the Balosar suffered and died beyond, BelleBlair was in a daze.

Her vision was blurred and spotty. Where a man once stood one minute he would disappear at the hand of her hunters the next. The bloodshed made her ill. The smell of iron the- She seeped a little from the back of her head, reaching beneath her cap and bringing back her hand lightly stained.

Her sight doubled and she looked up, it was all she could do, her body was paralyzed and numb.

Amongst the wreckage was a familiar little shape.


She couldn’t speak. The first syllable that came from her mouth faltered.

She could barely see but the blur was distinctive- she would have known it if she were blind.


It was Kimber.

The child was petrified. Frozen in the door way, staring with wide eyes of pale green- one nearly swollen shut from trauma.

In an instant she soundlessly bounded into her aunts arms, burying her face in her neck and squishing her injured Lekku.


The embrace was painful but the twi’lek of smeared orange, ashy gray and newly red weakly returned it, laying her face against the human’s soft blonde hair.

Shawn got up as fast as he could after he dived into the room Ares tackled the masked man into. Shawn returned fire at the remaining men that were in the hall taking out two just in time to see another group come down the hall.

“What’s the status here?” the one in charge of the group that just showed up.
One of the survivors ran up in a horrified begging, tone “there monsters we need to get out of here they got the boss and there picking us off one…..” the leader of the group cut the terrified man off by shooting him in the head “I do not tolerate cowards now bring me there heads, we don’t get paid if we fail to keep a few thugs out.” As four men started heading to the two rooms each were in

Shawn stuck his head out long enough to notice that a small group of men were heading towards them. “They just keep coming.” Shawn looked at Ares just as he ripped the mans throat out of his neck. “Ares what the hell! Ares we do not have time for this!” Shawn said as he walked over to Ares, and got no response. “Frak it, I have to do something the girl and that twe’lik are sitting ducks.” Shawn dropped his SST and drew his dual pistols equipped with hollow point explosive rounds, with mercury fuses that gave them a two second delay before exploding. He then ran as fast as he could jumping sideways shooting at the approaching goons nailing two in there shoulders as Shawn fell with a heavy thud into the room where BellBlair was in. “Hi thought I’d drop in, give you a hand. We have lots of goons comeing, we need to get out of here.”

Two seconds latter the rounds exploded.

Ares blood stained hands sent him back to the first day he felt the buzzing, it snapped him out of his blood lust shortly after Shawn tried to get his attention. He stood, grabbing the body of the Balosar by his shirt. Blood still spurted from time to time from the mans ripped vital arteries in his neck, his heart still convulsing slightly even though his brain was dead. The bounty hunter used his off hand to draw his revolver, bringing up the still warm body as a meat shield, he stepped out into the hallway and shot at whomever was still standing. He quickly picked up his fallen revolver before getting into the room everyone else was in. Ares dropped the body at the doorway before shutting the door. He knew the thugs would get through it, but he needed to give the group time to think.


"Does that window open?" Ares asked as he kept his slug thrower trained at the door. "We might have to scale a couple floors to loose these guys....Either that or I could just use this..." He said as he pulled out a thermal detonator. The bearded man didn’t even act like he had just ripped the throat out of another sentient. It was all business to Ares, his line of work.

BelleBlair remained seated on the floor when shawn appeared, Kimber, who had been clinging to her, raised her head curiously as he adressed her aunt.

"Who is he?" She asked

"Bounty hunters." the Twi'lek coughed, getting to her feet with aid, her sight was hindered and her lip was split.

"They're the good guys-" She jutted back her thumb just as Ares appeared, slathered in blood behind her.

Kimber let out a cry and BelleBlair turned with a jolt at his appearance.

“How about plan three” Shawn said raising his slugth thrower pistols "I have explosive rounds in these slug thrower and I have a few spare clips I’m sure I can cut a whole in the floor, and set the thermal detonator as a trap. For the guys outside the door.”

As soon as Shawn finished stating his idea there was a yell outside the door and clicking.

“What ever we plan to do, make it fast there coming.” Shawn said pointing his slug throwers at the door.

" I think we can take em." Ares said as he primed the thermal detonator, he kept his finger on the primer though, so it wouldnt blow up in his hand. The small metal orb beeped in unision with the red light near the primer. "One of them is bound to have a secruity overide datacard. Either that or he does." He said as he pointed to the heap of flesh on the ground near the door with his gun.

"With one of those we can use the lift to get out of here. Instead of running down four hundred flights of stairs....Besides. Theres only like a dozen of em."

BelleBlair’s flawed eyesight made out the mangled corpse of what appeared to be the masked man- when her eyes focused she responded with emptying her stomach’s contents in the corner of the room.

Kimber held her aunt's arm concerned.

"Sorry." she groaned, wiping her mouth.

"I...I don't do well with..." she looked Ares up and down with fright.

"Blood..."

“Well that is expected from a civilian.” Shawn said as he holstered the pistols and drew the auto pistols sliding in new clips.

“Well I guess were just going to gun our way out. Though one of us has to hit a security room, if you want the elevator ride to be uneventful, there just going to lock out the card and re-lock down the elevator taping you inside and possibly making it fall many stories to the ground floor.”

There was even more commotion just outside the door as the men got ready to storm the room.

Ares raised an eyebrow in a questioning manner to BelleBlair's response, but kept his mouth shut. He couldn't quite wrap his head around it though, being afriad of something that was practically your life. It didnt make sence to him.

" You handle the security room, then meet us down in the lobby. I need to ensure BelleBlair and her niece's safety.... Everyone get behind something heavy." Ares said as he hosltered his revolver. He picked the body of the masked thug up again and held it up like a meat shield. Thermal detonator in hand, he pressed the door open button rapidly to cause it to open briefly, Ares tossed the detonator into the hallway with the thugs. They were slightly caught off guard by the doors sudden opening, and only managed to get a couple shots off before the door shut again.

Ares jumped backwards, tossing the body at the door. He dove back behind the bed. Hopefully the others would follow suit.The blast would probably destroy the door, and he didnt want anyone getting hurt.

BelleBlair with Kimber in toe, took shelter behind the closet door.

Tucking away in the corner for safty from the blast, they felt the room's door come crashing in as the detonator went off- atomizing the men in the hall.

Shawn dashed around a corner away from the door but it aloud him to make a quick dash through the door after the thermal detonator went off.

Ares wayched as Shawn ran out the now destroyed door, he knew the young bounty hunter would be able to handle himself, so he didnt worry. His first step was to get out of his now bloodly clothes, having BelleBlair almost faint and expel the contents of her stomach every time she saw him wasnt good when they were on the run.

Ares removed his trench coat, then his shirt, which was ripped from the masked thugs vibro blade. His upper torso armor was all he wore on the top half of his body. He set them on the bed, and set a incindeary grenade ontop of them. Ares wouldnt prime it until they left the room, since it was meant for evidence destruction.

The bounty hunter gently opened the closet door. "We have to go, get your niece and lets go. Shawn has gone to shut down the security center, and we're going to take the lift back down." Ares stood briefly in the doorway as he spoke before walkng back towards the main door of the room. he paused just before walking over the now charred and mangled body of the ring leader of all the thugs. Sticking to the mans melted flesh, was a data card. And not just any data card, a security card for all the doors in the hotel. Ares quickly picked it up and kept walking.

Scrambling to her feet, BelleBlair pulled Kimber along after Ares, stepping over the corpse of the man who once stuck anger into her heart. Now he was reduced to a gory pulp…hardly recognizable. She grimly acknowledge a bit of satisfaction the justice brought.


“Oh honey, don’t look.’ She told Kimber, covering her eyes and lifting her to safety.

They quickly followed Ares, ready to be rid of the Spire and all it’s ghastly business.

Shawn ran into minor opposition wich was quickly dispatched, on his way to the security room which was luckily on the floor he was currently on, when he got there, there were two guards in the room Shawn took them down quick and started locking down all the lifts except for the one Ares was going to use, and locked access to the security room to and began slicing his way into the higher security functions to lock out the other security stations and disrupt them long enough to get them out.

“Boss you’re all clear all the way to the lift and down. So far I’ve locked them out from shutting down you’re lift but that may not last long the higher security functions are redundant and heavily encoded, I’ll buy you enough time to get out then I’ll work my way ou….” Shawn was cut off at banging out side of the securities door.

 

[T.J]

"good work shawn. shout if you need assisstance." Ares said as he slid the data card through the exterior control panel of the turbo lifts. A low humming could be heard before the doors silently slid open. Ares quickly stepped into the tube and waited for BelleBlair and her niece to follow. Once inside he tapped the down button and the lift shot downwards.

BelleBlair rushed to the lift and to Ares side.

“But Shawn…” She mentioned, holding her niece protectively

“what if he runs into trouble?”

Two men stood outside the very door the bounty hunter previously mentioned was.

“Open up!” One yelled, a Kiffar with a shaved head, he held a rifle at the ready.

A Togruta female leaned in a door way down the hall.

She sighed, shutting her flawed eyes then pointed and snapped her fingers.

“I told them to take care of it down stairs- are you people deaf?” she asked snidely.

“Shut it bad eyes!” the Second growled.

A large male twi’lek strode from her room and into their midst, he held a large vibro blade.

The Kiffar made room for him - just in time for the Lethan to reign down his weapon, sending the door crashing in.
