Republic Security Force ​

The Republic Security Force is a far-reaching force of dedicated and experienced officers, tasked with a wide range of duties from conducting counter-terrorism operations to investigating fraudulent businesses. Its jurisdiction holds true over virtually the entire Republic, giving it the power to conduct investigations into interplanetary crime.

The bulk of the RSF is an investigatory force, which is supplemented by a small SWAT Force dedicated to dealing with armed threats to public safety. The investigatory side of the RSF is broken down into several divisions: Organized Crime, which deals with all mafia and gang-related crime; Trafficking Enforcement, which tackles the problem of smugglers and illegal substances; Counter-Terrorism, which handles anti-terrorism and espionage-related investigations; and General Investigations, which handles everything else.

Generally speaking, agents of the Investigatory branches are issued a slim armored vest capable of resisting pistol fire from both slug throwers and blasters and their choice of a blaster pistol or slug pistol. The speeders used by RSF personnel carry a measure of backup weaponry as well, in the form of blaster carbines and slug thrower shotguns, providing a mix of mid and short-range firepower should an investigation turn sour.

The Special Weapons and Tactics force, unlike the investigatory branches of the RSF, is a single division. They are issued Republic Army equipment that has been painted flat black and emblazoned with the trademark SWAT stencil. The SWAT forces are a highly trained and well-drilled force capable of any number of counter-terrorism and quasi-military operations, though unlike the military they are kept on a very tight leash by the RSF’s higher-ups to ensure that they only engage a threat when all other options have been exhausted.

The RSF’s ranking system is relatively simple, having only six ranks. From top to bottom, there is the Director, who is in charge of the RSF; next are the Deputy Directors, who oversee the RSF’s operations in different sectors of Republic space; then there are Inspectors, who are in charge of planetary field offices; Command Agents run departments and task forces within planetary field offices; Field Agents spearhead investigations and lead SWAT Teams; and Agents are the lifeblood of the RSF, serving in all branches of the RSF as investigators, SWAT members, crime scene investigators, and dozens of other roles.

EDIT: Also, I will change my character accordingly for armor/weapons. You have anything in mind for this "slim armored vest"?

I'll see what I can whip up, mission-wise. As for the slim vest, something like this is what I'm thinking. Feel free to create your own vest though, and you don't really need to change your character to fit the RSF's kit, so long as you don't, you know, go on investigations in full combat gear and with assault rifles. =P
