The Skeleton Guard
History:
When the Alsak Crisis broke out, Venator Furtificus saw his chance to break free of his life of small time crime and villainy, such as bounty hunting, and a chance to gain a few years of experience in a military, and see out the war, unless unforeseen circumstances happened. Whilst Venator did begin to do well in the military, he had been born and bred on Nal Hutta, a den of crime, and crime was in his blood. Despite now being in such a position, he wished to pin down a life of organized, refined crime, in addition to his position in the Alsakan Military, thus the idea for the Skeleton Guard was conceived.
His contacts in the underworld, from Nal Hutta, still remained intact, and many had managed to pin down other lives for themselves, or had gained experience in crime, and Venator began to secretly investigate the pros and cons of his own crime group, working out funding issues, and matters as such. Yet, as his contacts began to stop contact somewhat, the idea was put on the back burner, and Venator returned to ordinary missions.
Yet the idea didn’t stay put for long. When Venator encountered renegade slave, Kunani Sunaide, in a cantina on Coruscant, the slave opposed him, and failed to comply with his wished. This led to Venator gaining a hate of slaves, particularly of Kunani Sunaide, which led for him to seek a way to get an organization which dealt in slavery, a business which Venator felt could be big business in a few years time. After his original ideas of a mercenary group were combined with this new idea, his encounter with the mercenary Dussk led to him seeing the benefits of a mercenary faction, appealing to Venators quest for money.
With this idea concieved, Venator got into contact with people from Nal Hutta once more and, discovering an old mercenary friend who had now began to make a good life for himself out of the same trade, working in ways Venator approved of. Making a few excursions to visit him, Venator established a trade route between the two planets, and began to form the ideas of a plan, making excursions to Kalist VI also, and Venator began to explore the possibilities of a group.
After time, Venator formed his group, the Skeleton Guard, on Kalist VI, a group based upon piracy, slavery and mercenary elements, a group of complete and utter crime, with barely any morals. Whilst not with the rules and enforcements of bounty hunting, pure, unrestricted mercenaries were able to find a place to work here, as well as pirates, willing to get a shot at raiding ships to gain money. Slave traders and mercenaries who, instead of killing their targets, brought them back, found a place to sell their slaves on, forming the Skeleton Guard, the crime group concieved and led by Venator Furtificus.
Funding: Venators money originally from working for the Alsakans paid for the starting off fee; now the group is started off, Venators funding now works as those who complete a job then get paid. It’s not pay by a monthly basis, but pay on a job by job basis, therefore it funds itself, now it’s been started.
Location(s):
A base upon Kalist VI, the original one bought by Venator, hidden in forests from prying eyes. Used in times of danger and peace.
Forces:
Just the single ship belonging to Venator, the Fury, yet other mercenaries and members may use their own ships, or use Venators, which is currently in the status of being revamped and expanded.
Motives:
A pure, mercenary lust for money at the expense of others. A lust for money with no morals or standards, with no care taken for how they gain this money, or who they hurt in the process.
Relationships with other Factions:
Realization that enmity with many factions would ruin any business opportunities came long ago to Venator, yet relationships are unavoidable. As an Alsakan, Venator holds a good relationship with the Alsakan Union, and refrains from publicy pirating their ships. The Republic, however, have always expressed a disdain for the underworld Venator belongs too and, having been always against the Republic for the Alsakans, Venator holds a large enmity with the Republic, but not to the point that he would, should the unlikely chance arrive, turn down a contract by them. When dealing with the Jedi, Venator prefers to steer clear, as he doesn’t trust them and their powers, as well as the fact that they are opposed to slavery and, therefore, his business.
Armor structure:
For The Skeleton Guard, there is no specific armor, or armor type to be worn by such members, the members being allowed to choose their own choice of armor, being both an attempt at allowing members free choice and the ability to hide themselves as members of the organization in situations when being recognized would be risky. However, all members armor must be stamped with the helmeted skull insignia of The Skeleton Guard, as the Guard does take pride of its own.
