Active Operations: Intrigue on Bilbringi

With the recent escalation of the war against the Sith, the Jedi high command has determined that it is necessary to gather their hitherto disparate and divided intelligence operatives under one central command, the Special Activities Division (SAD), so that they can better coordinate and concentrate their efforts on achieving the army’s overarching goals, and have a response ready to the Sith’s own SIN (Sith Intelligence Network). The organization, headquartered in an undisclosed location on the remote and largely ignored world of D’Qar to ensure its continued operation in the event of an attack or bombing on Dantooine itself, will conduct various missions of targeted removal of dangerous targets, regime change, infiltration, intelligence gathering and analysis, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and other covert operations in support of the Army’s campaigns. How this new division and its operatives act and conduct themselves, if they will uphold the Light even as they wade through the shadows or fall into darkness like most of their notorious predecessors of Team Shadowstrike remains to be seen.

Hi there everyone, this is the official thread for the Special Activities Division of the Jedi Army! Here you can find information on our assets and request their use in PvE missions, current operations, see the current reputation of S.A.D. in the Army, and look up case files on your character(s) and those of your other agents, and general news! Your character does not have to exclusively do S.A.D. missions to be a member, just be a Jedi! Non-Jedi allied and neutral characters can become trusted contractors, who don't receive as much information about the activities of the organization or have as much of an ability to request assets but can do missions, get rewarded, and participate in some of the organizations social activities!

Current News (12/4/2016).
Welcome to the S.A.D. Jedi and other contractors! We're getting things underway with our Intrigue on Bilbringi mission pack, where we'll be aiming to take control of the major shipyards for the Army as preparation for an upcoming grand campaign against the Sith! If we successfully take it, Vosrik has approved us getting a Star Destroyer of our choice as a reward to play around with for special events and missions, either another Zenith-class similar to the Peacekeeper or an Empyreal! See the mission. There will also be a social thread and party for S.A.D. members, who can invite other Jedi and neutral characters of their choice this holiday season! We throw amazing parties, you'll be glad to be S.A.D.!

The Reputation System:

Unlike the Jedi Army as a whole, each and every member of the S.A.D. will be able to directly influence and determine the reputation of the entire division through their actions in missions! The more missions that we complete in a way in accordance with the ways of the Jedi, the higher we will rise in the estimation of other members of the Army, and garner more legitimacy and trust. In turn, the more morally questionable ways we complete our missions will garner scrutiny, suspicion, and even outright scorn from other members of the Army, who fear we are heading down a dark path! Ultimately, it is up to all of you to decide how we conduct ourselves, and are perceived, by other members of the Army! You can find a more detailed breakdown below, but essentially you will be ranked on a scale of 3 to -3. A score of three for a completed mission means that completed the mission with consummate care, skill, and discretion, with Jedi influence either not being detected at all or being widely seen as beneficial with little to no collateral damage, deaths, or injuries-you're basically being the ideal Jedi. A score of 0 would be an average amount of collateral damage, deaths, and injuries that wouldn't really surprise a lot of Jedi. A score of -3 means you completed the mission with massive collateral damage, causing loss or the ruination of lives, injuries, and chaos, ensuring that you left wherever it is you were in a worse state than when you arrived, though you accomplished your task. You can of course land anywhere in between as well! Don't let this restrict your creativity at all, though! It's for flavor mostly! Feel free to play a really Dark Jedi, or one who slowly falls into darkness, or vice versa, and know that his or her actions do matter a bit in the grand scheme of things. There will be five rankings we can get, ranging from admired, to positive, to mixed, to negative, and finally despised, corresponding roughly to a 30-20, 20-10, 10 to 0 to negative ten, -10 through -20, and finally -20 through -30!

Assets & Requests for them:
As the S.A.D. completes its campaigns and takes sectors, more and more resources will be delegated to them by the leadership. Cool, you say, but how does this affect my character? Well, if you've ever dreamed of having your character command a capital ship, a company of Jedi marines, or more, this is your stop! You will be able to requisition S.A.D.'s assets for your missions, events, or even your own personal PvE threads once you have built enough trust and a reputation up by posting in this thread, subject to the site's main NPC rules (don't use them for an advantage in PvP, don't nuke entire planets without admin and Jedi leadership approval, check with us before you use them in open threads, be reasonable). Initiates/Padawans can do this too, although they are limited to corvette-sized ships and smaller detachments of troops for realism purposes. Mission packs will include what the S.A.D. gets for completing them!

Currently Available Assets:
3x Sabre-Class Corvettes
One Marine Battalion (500 men), can be taken in smaller detachments.

As a note: I'll have CNN report the activities of the group depending on its standing, so good reputation will lead to good coverage :)

As a side note, I put up some more nonviolent/non-combat traits, and for you @Jinan B, added the Boxer line people can pursue :).

Would anyone be interested in a PvP subdivision (e.g. open threads), to make this open to more people? It would not be required, but optional and fun.

I haven't yet done any PvP so I don't know what it's like yet. So my opinion is limited, yet it might be interesting for those who enjoy PvP and to give the other factions a chance to counter some of the things we do.

I wouldn't mind, as long as my new Jedi doesn't get killed off, lol.

Sounds good, I will add you! If you have Skype, you can pm it to me and I will add you to the SAD chat and/or the Jedi chat if you so desire, if not, that's perfectly fine too! There'll be a newsletter going up sometime tomorrow.

@Kiser - I'll make a separate Skype account for this forum soon. Thanks.

Great! Added you to the roster, feel free to pick up any Bilbringi mission. I will be leaving on the 22nd for about two weeks on a trip, so, if you could get me your alternate Skype sometime before then, it would be appreciated! Thanks.
