"Why so?" said Dar, calm as ever in front of his impatient apprentice.

"Whilst the strength of a user can cause damage such as the form: Djem So shows. Speed is the best advantage in battle the lightsabre itself is enough to kill increasing its speed increases it's chance to kill as Makashi attests to." Jonas answered this is what he thought of the form it may not be perfect in large combat but in duals it would be of great use.

His reasoning was bland and had nothing to do with him personally, but Dar was bored of waiting now. "Makashi is a style for lightsaber duellists, and I will teach you the basics of it, but I can't teach you to master it. That is something you won't do for many years. Follow me."

He began to show him the basic attacks, defenses and counters of Makashi, and how to use them in a duel.

Jonas followed his Master movements completing the forms of defense and offense to the best of his abilities he memorized key tactics and strategies for it in many types of scenarios. By the end of his instructions he had a basic knowledge of Makashi and its uses. When the training had finished Jonas turned and spoke to his Master. "You've given me power Master I shall never forget that and one day perhaps we'll finish our one sided dual from before and see who surpasses who." He looked at the man searching for any sign of emotion that might show his inner thoughts on this matter.

Dar's thoughts were unreadable, but he made sure he smirked at this comment. At heart, he was as arrogant as any sith and the notion of his apprentice killing him was fun to him at this stage.

"You are far from finished in your training, Jonas. Now we will spar."

He was doing this half to assert his strength and half to teach him more about combat. Perhaps with a more obedient apprentice he would not have attacked quite so forcefully and quickly, but that could have been a bad thing.

Jonas quickly pulled up his saber igniting it to parry the blow. The two sabers clashed in midair his Master had put such strength into the blow that he had to roll backwards to escape death. "Looks like strengths not an option to use in a fight against a Sith of his caliber so I guess I'll try to use my speed to beat him." Jonas thought to himself as he quickly flicked his saber up and ran at his Master. He stabbed first at the mans shoulder but it was just a feint a split second before he would strike he brought the blade down towards his legs hoping his speed was enough to wound the man so as to slow him down.

Dar was impressed with his new tactics, but he was by far the better duellist. He was simply testing his apprentice and helping him to learn. As he feinted, Dar just read it, skipped over Jonas' sweeping lightsaber and brought his own sword to rest by Jonas' neck. He switched off his lightsaber and held out his hand, taking Jonas' sword from his hands. He motioned to a workbench, "On their you will find the parts for your first lightsaber. Construct it."

As his apprentice worked, Dar knelt and meditated.

Jonas disignited his training saber turning towards the workbench. On it sat a vast array of parts many of which that would be useless to those of a lesser intelligence. He didn't even bother picking up the parts with his hands that would come later till then he needed the perfection of the force to place the parts in his newly thought up intricate design. The parts moved in a blur circling his head forming in countless combinations. Hours passed until it formed into the precise pattern he wanted. Jonas looked at it and saw that it was technically done but there was two more things he wanted it to have before it was completed. Taking out a small knife he cut a glowing blue string from his instrument and sliced away two patches of his own flesh from his left and right arms. Jonas arms bleeding placed the flesh and wire onto the newly constructed saber where it formed the hilt. "Now only those of our flesh may activate the blade." He stared it over the metal casing on the outside was jet black the flesh which he made his hilt out of took on a dark red color and the wire wrapping around the saber glowed a dark blue. Down the vertical length of the saber on opposite sides was a line that could cause it to split into two sabers when Jonas had need of them. The saber had no visible means of detection only those of his flesh who could channel their power though the skin in the hilt could possibly have a chance of activating it. "We are finished Master." As he spoke he ignited his saber flourishing it the blade was imbued with the color of blood.

Dar stood from his meditations and raised his hand, the lit saber leaping into his hand. He traced a few shapes in the air with it before speaking, "And intricate design and it works well," he noticed a thin line along the hilt and he felt it with the Force. He pulled and the hilt clicked into two lightsabers, with stranged shaped hilts. Dar reckoned they would be uncomfortable, but it was down to his apprentice if he wished to perfect such things, "And it has surprises, a sure advantage in combat. Well done." He gave him a rare compliment, "Continue your practice, I will call you to this place when I shall recommence your training."
