Katarn walked into the temple, marveling at all before her. Neither on coruscant, nor on any of the other myriad of worlds she had visited had she enjoyed such a view. As she crossed the threshold of the temple, she felt a shiver go down her spine as all the dark energy that had permeated into the walls greeted her. It was a slap to the face and a warm hug all in one. Equally repulsing and attracting her. Katarn knew from this day forth, her life would be forever changed.

Aiden sat on his heels in the training room of the Bogan temple and watched a pair of acolytes sparring with training sabers. Their form was disgusting and they fought like drunken brawlers. The two of them would be easily killed in combat by anyone with a sense of how to fight properly, but this was not his problem and they were not his students.

He was dressed in his typical attire of his armour and robes along with the red headband he wore across his empty eye-sockets. Underneath the folds of his robes were his two curved-hilt sabers. A different acolyte ran over to him, a very young Umbaran. With a bow they young boy began to speak.

"Crusader Dekker, there is a new acolyte here. You have been assigned to train her sir."

Aiden nodded his head and sent the boy away with a hand gesture. Exhaling sharply, he stood with a quick motion and walked out of the training room and out the main doors of the temple to see a girl standing outside. Ando Prime was not known for having great weather and it began to snow.

"You there, girl, are you the new acolyte?" Aiden said in a tone that lacked much emotion. He had seen too many acolytes come through to care about this one at this point.

"I am." Katarn answered, she found the man more than a little intimidating. he looked to be about the same age as herself, but with so much more power behind him. She wondered if he had been dispatched in order to retrieve her and take her to her waiting master.
"Are," she started. "Are you here to collect me?"

Aiden studied the girl as she spoke. She seemed intimidated by him, despite the fact he had done nothing to cause that just yet. She'd have to learn fast.

"Not here to collect you, but to train you. I'll be your master. My name is Aiden and I am a Crusader. You, as of this moment, are my acolyte. Your name is?" He spoke in the same tone as before.

"I was christened Katarn upon my arrival at the temple." Katarn answered in the voice she had used when addressing the gangster she had worked for. She fear this man, but on that instant she swore to herself that he would never again see that she was.

Bowing she addressed him, "I am in your care Crusader Aiden."

Aidens eyebrows narrowed as she finished her last statement. In his care...That was potentially very dangerous. At least she would listen well if she truely belived that. Either way his job was to make her into a soldier for the Bogan.

"Come with me. First we shall speak in my chamber before continuing your training." He said as he turned around and motioned for her to follow. It was a brief walk to Aiden's personal chamber, perhaps five to ten minutes at most. In there was a table and chairs where they could talk. He needed to know her past before he could form her future.

Katarn raised her head slowly and followed Aiden to his chamber. She had been inside the Temple for not even 5 minutes, and she was already on her way to the personal chambers of one of her superiors. "he best not try anything funny," she thought to herself as she reached the door to his personal study.

The doors to Aidens personal chamber hissed as they opened. The room was not massive, but was big enough. It was furnished with a pair of tables, a bookshelf and a bed as well as a small altar like area complete with candles and such. In the corner of the room was a small droid that was able to read for Aiden and could give him some food or drink if he wanted. He took a seat at one of the tables and motioned for his new student to sit across from him.

"Come sit." He stated plainly.

Katarn nodded as she sat down. She gasped slightly as the cold metal of the light whip wrapped around her leg brushed against the skin surprising her. She had chosen the lightwhip after hearing another student talk about how difficult it was to use. However, its difficulty only attracted her all the more.

"What are your instructions?" Katarn asked, lowering her head in reference.

Aiden leaned back into a more comfortable position. It was possible they would be here for some time.

"Tell me of your past. Why'd you choose the Bogan? Why not the Jedi?" He asked, a bit of venom in his voice as he mentioned the stupid monks.

"The Jedi only take children," Katarn shook her head in sadness. She had thought of the Jedi when that Bogan had approached her in the bar, only to remember that annoying rule of theirs. "Besides," she brightened. "The Jedi are so narrow minded, and they look down upon gambling."

Aiden's eyebrows narrowed sharply as she spoke. Had she come here because she couldn't get in the Jedi? The Bogan was not a place to come as a second option. He straightened his posture.

"One does not come to the Bogan as a backup option. You WILL die here if you're not prepared properly or utterly devoted. You also left two questions unanswered. I suggest an answer unless you enjoy pain acolyte." He said, much more harshly then the even tone he used before.

"Well, first off I didn't choose the Bogan, you guys choose me." Katarn responded. "I mean, not that I don't love the idea of being a Bogan. Of stalking my enemies completely undetected. Killing at a distance via invisible means. You just can't learn that kinda stuff anywhere else." Katarn grew increasingly excited as she continued to speak. She knew she belonged among the Bogan. No person could go through the things she had and still be able to maintain a Jedi mantle. But she supposed that every person admired the Jedi to some degree, after all, they zoomed about the galaxy doing the imposable. Though the more she heard about these Bogan, for not even a rumor of them had graced her ears prior to 2 weeks ago, the more she knew she was in the right place.

"As for my history," Katarn muttered, she hated to think of her past. "I was orphaned at the age of 5, raised by gangsters, and have been an assassin since I was able to hold the weight of a gun."

Aiden's face didn't lose it's hard nature, he was annoyed by his acolyte. She seemed like she was trying to save face here. Time for her first test.

"You're armed. Do you know how to use the weapon? Well enough to spar with it?" Aiden asked as he stood from his chair and stood in the center of the large space towards the back of the room.

"Not really..." Katarn trailed off. "Picked it up off a guy on Coroscant, I had pegged him from 5 blocks away, and as he fell I saw this light whip activate, I first I thought it was a lightsaber, so I went to grab it. When I discovered it was a lightwhip, I grabbed it anyways, but every time I've used it, I've nearly taken off my own head, I was hoping someone could teach me how to use this thing."

Katarn felt the emptiness of her blaster and rifle more than ever at that moment. She had been order to leave them on her ship, and the blasters presence was the most prevalent since it had kept her waist company for a good decade. And here she was, under fire, and without her loyal companion.

Aiden listened to her speak. He had seen a lightwhip or two before but hadn't the slightest clue as to how to use one. He motioned towards a rack on the wall where four vibroswords sat and one flew into his hand.

"Grab one. Leave your whip on the table." Aiden said. He would teach her a few things before they sparred if she was new to the blade but first she needed to get rid of her old weapon. "Have you used one of these before?" He asked.

Katarn gave her whip a quick shake dislodging it from her side. placing it on the table she walked to the rack. lift one off she responded, "Once, I quickly learned that swords are not my forte."

Katarn activated the blade, feeling the vibrations go up her arm. I actually felt kinda soothing, unlike the last time she had used one. Of course, last time she had used one, her power pack had been drained from a long battle and she was about to die, but that was beside the point.

Aiden performed a quick Makashi salute with his blade before assuming his fighting stance. He fought like a duelist when he used a sword and stayed very light on his feet. The sword was in his right hand and he stood with his right foot in front.

"Now we begin. I'll allow you to take the first offense." He said. "Keep in mind that these are real blades, don't do anything foolish. I won't hesitate to kill you."

Katarn's hands shook at Aiden's words, she could barely lift the heavy blade, and he expected her to take an offensive with it? That seemed almost imposable. However, there was no getting out of this now.

She sprang forward, raising the sword behind her, allowing her momentum to do most of the work. As she got within range, she put all her effort into a swing at his arm holding the blade.

Aiden merely slipped out of range when she launched herself forward. He shook his head, he could just leap back forward and end her now. His goal was to train, not kill today however. The sword was obviously too large for her to use effectively.

"Stop. That sword is far too big for you." He stated, sounding rather annoyed. It wasn't a large blade by any standards. "Would a dagger be preferable you weak worm?" Aiden said, his words cracking like a whip. Anger always worked to fuel him so perhaps she would get mad enough to fight normally. "Or if you're too pitiful to use one of those we can begin with hand-to-hand training. Bah! Forget the blades!" Aiden said as he tossed his towards the wall. "Grab a training saber. We'll begin with those."
