Welcome to the Verstand Foundation
Also simply known as “VF” or “The Foundation”, the Verstand Foundation is a moderately-sized corporation based on Coruscant dealing in many intertwined fields of business. The main operations funding the Foundation are security and production of war supplies, principally infantry weaponry and star fighters.
The Foundation was created two years and six months ago by Kyriel Zweihart, daughter of domestic manufacturing industry leading actor Frederick Zweihart and has very quickly expanded through aggressive acquisitions and clever moves. By investing a large capital into the massive renovation and re-sell or dismantlement of near-bankrupt small businesses, the Foundation’s value and holdings rose rapidly, quickly allowing it to acquire more long-standing installations increasingly fueled by the war effort.
The Foundation Is currently divided between five main branches. The First Division is mainly operating in the manufacturing of security or surveillance drones as well as various defense systems. This branch also offers modern security systems and controlled infiltration from professional hackers to test out customers’ networks’ capabilities. The Second Division, related to the first, employs trained private soldiers for the protection of customers’ events or installations, boasting the Foundation’s finest materials.
The Third Division is the currently largest division of the Foundation as it operates in the manufacturing and engineering of weaponry and war machines, mostly infantry weaponry and starfighters. This division produces the Foundation’s own designs which are themselves overviewed by the Fourth Division which is responsible for R&D in both hull designs and optimization and paramilitary applications to military technologies for the betterment of civilian life.

(The Fifth Division is a secret branch composed of an amalgam of people of various skills and background sharing naught but one thing: Hatred for the Hutt Empire. This branch does not officially exist and calls itself “The Judicators”. Under the direct command of CEO Zweihart, the judicators operate in all and every things that could annoy or otherwise be harmful to the Hutts. Judicators are free of their actions unless the Executor plans a greater-scale operation. )
1st Division
The first Division is itself split into two branches: drones and system manufacture and engineering and network security. The first division owns three light factories and a computer laboratory, both of a factory and the laboratory can be found on Coruscant while the other two factories are established on Metellos and Koros Major, relatively close highly industrial worlds.
The first division offers a small variety of surveillance drones with many features. The following is a short list of the Foundation’s most popular products.
Beholder-01
This camera is the basic of Verstand Security and is composed of three grouped cylinders which are each individually a visual camera, a motion sensor and a thermal sensors. This camera is designed to be able to fall back into the wall or roof behind a sliding panel to hide its location while a building is open or not in need of surveillance.

Beholder-02
This security drone is composed of a B-01 camera system mounted on a fast tiny repulsorlift system. Those drones can be controlled remotely, given precise paths to patrol or be set to wander mode or independent mode. During both of these modes the user must specify the limits of the territory to keep watch over. During Independent mode, values can be assigned to the different locations which the AI will use to prioritize its actions. The Beholder 2 is very popular as a scouting drone for most purposes.

Additionally, it contains audio sensors and a small databank to assist rapid translations of a few semi-common dialects which can be replaced or added depending on the background in which the drone will be used in. This drone is designed to be able to stalk and spy an intruder for a short amount of time without being itself detected.

Asides from the surveillance drones, the Foundation also offers defense system which can be either used in installations or aboard spaceships. While those come in a wide array, only the most popular products will be listed here.
“Karmesin Gericht” Defense Grid
One of the most powerful defense systems of the foundation, the KG-Grid consists of four automated emplacements of three rapid-firing blasters. Two are disposed in the middle of each walls while the other two or similarly disposed in the roof and floor. All four emplacements remain concealed into the structure until they are activated and will automatically burst out of their hiding to simultaneously fire a dense barrage of light blaster shots at any target entering its pre-programmed range which can be modified by the customer at any time. Finally, the 1st division offers informatics security systems and also offers controlled infiltration from hired professional hackers who will attempt to crack the customer’s system and then inform them of how to improve it.

2nd Division
The second division is a private force of trained soldiers specialized in defensive and security operations as well as riot-control. A few training facilities and barracks are scattered across a handful main Core Worlds. The most note-worthy asset of the second division is a small pilot academy on Coruscant
The second division offers military training in multiple fields related to defense operations and seeks to extend its instruction to offensive operations once more instructors and training grounds can be acquired. The pilot academy on Coruscant teaches soldiers and customers how to use fighters and specialize in escort missions for freighters and civilians
As related to its specializations, the Foundation accepts contracts to escort valuable cargo or dignitaries and to assure the security dignitaries or guests during special events and ceremonies. The Foundation also accepts jobs to defend installations as long as those are for a short amount of time as the second division’s policy is to take many shorter contracts worth more for the time invested. For the protection of installations for a long-term time, customers are redirected toward the 1st Division’s defense systems.

3rd Division
The third division is the largest and most lucrative of the Foundation’s branches. It also boasts the largest facilities of the Foundation which are to the number of four. Firstly, two well-sized light arms factory produce various infantry weaponry, one of them being located on Coruscant and the other on Metellos. Still on Coruscant is an ammo factory fit for both the production of Blaster power packs and the different ammunitions for the Foundation’s ballistic weaponry. Finally, the most valuable installation of all the Foundation can be found in Corsucant: a small space yard for fighter crafts.
The third division offers a wide array of weapons for infantry ranging from side-arms to assault rifles, snipers and, to a limited extent, mounted guns. Here are a few most known VF weaponry.
KG-E14 Sniper Rifle
The KarmesinGewher-Elite14 is a sniper rifle using old ballistic projectiles. It is intended to take full advantage of the slug’s assets over the more modern blasters and to be used by already expert marksmen. Its primary distinguishing feature is how a silencer has been integrated to the design and the scope has been adjusted to take into account the accuracy loss from the silencer. The scope can toggle between classical and laser modes as the situation commands. This feature of ballistic projectile and silencer make it to be virtually undetectable as to where the flashy rays of light and the token noise of the release would have instantly gave away the position of a shooter even far away and concealed. A mount is included with the rifle as well as a small instrument that calculates winds and gravity effects over the ballistic projectiles in the current area. The KG-E14 can load multiple ammos and is of fairly heavy caliber to pierce even armored personal’s weak spots. It is one of the most efficient Sniper rifles and is very popular on the Black Market for assassins and bounty hunters because of its stealth.

Its strength comes from the fact that both barrels act independently and use both different Blaster types. The left barrel use the more common particle shot best against humanoid targets while the right one uses the plasma-based blaster more effective against mechanical targets. The KarmesinGewehr-Standard03 is a quite standard particle-based blaster pistol with a longer barrel for improved accuracy. It is usually very reliable with little maintenance. Those two factors make it a good weapon for people who use weaponry for protection such as civilians or people working in more “dangerous” areas.

The KarmesinGewehr-Standard09 is a Semi-automatic slightly bigger than a pistol but not as big as a rifle. It fires conventional Blaster rounds at very high rate and is intended to be used with non-lethal shots for crow controls. For less “legal” buyers, it is a good weapon to make a lot of damage in a pinch. It requires more maintenance than the -03 and is slightly prone to overheating because of its fire rate.

Despite the lucrativity of its firearms market, the pride of the 3rd division comes from its space yards which currently offers one model of Star fighters, which is also the one used by VF pilots for escort missions and pirate hunts.

Being produced in relatively low numbers at the moment, the design includes a Hyperdrive unit making it a costly but modern fighter.

4th Division
The fourth division, also known as the R&D of the Verstand Foundation, owns two laboratories on Coruscant both dedicated to their respective fields. The first is a paramilitary research center meant to apply recent military technology to the everyday life. This laboratory is linked with Frederick Zweihart’s own industries of domestic goods and domestic designs are then suggested to him, who is not part of the Foundation and is better suited to mass-produce everyday goods.
The second laboratory is slightly larger and focuses on hull design and military technologies. While it does not make it a priority at all to research new technologies, it does well at tweaking current technologies and creating hull designs and frames as well as optimizing vessels and crafts. This laboratory often receives designs from the CEO herself and it is one of their main tasks to review those.

VFWU-“Licht”
The Licht corvette was commissioned by the Foundation and built by the Costa Industries. It is an anti-fighter corvette of slender design reminiscent of the Raserei. However, unlike the Raserei it is designed to be able to withstand a bit of punishment. It is fitted with good engines and a hyper drive unit, its more than appreciable mobility allowing it to perform at its anti-fighter task. Its defensive emphasis is put on stronger shields rather than thicker armor because of the regenerative property of shields while armor requires repairs.
The Lich-class is armed with a large number of mobile laser canons over the hull and a few blaster canons on the front. It hosts a relatively small crew for a corvette because the canons are handled by a very powerful targeting computer.
