  • Early Life:
Elyn Stera was born to a middle-class family on Dantooine, and lived in a modest home located near the Jedi Temple. During the years after her birth, her parents took note of young Elyn's seemingly unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Instead of playing with other children her age, they would always find the young girl sitting in a corner of her father's study with a book in her lap.

This continued for a few years until the Jedi soon sensed her sensitivity to the Force and appeared knocking on the family's front door.

Her parents were adamant that the unwelcome visitor leave, but were eventually convinced by the man to let Elyn decide. By now, Elyn knew of the Jedi, and of the huge libraries located in their temples. She also knew that the only way she would be able to gain access to said libraries would be to join the order, and thus she accepted the offer.

As a Jedi youngling, Elyn devoted herself to her studies. However, she didn't just limit herself to theory and the Force, she also focused on learning to be skilled with a blade. She knew it would be important for her to be able to use a lightsaber later on in her life, and she also wished to know the intricacies of the art of lightsaber combat.

Eventually, Elyn traveled with a group of fellow younglings to Ilum for The Gathering. While she did wish for a Khyber crystal, she even more wanted to learn about the rich history and lore of the planet and the cave in which she had entered. However, with no elder or book to rely on, she was at a loss on how exactly to obtain such information.

As frustration threatened to take over, Elyn decided to meditate in order to calm herself. Reaching out to the force, she felt it all around her. She felt it and understood. She didn't need to rely on other sources in order to gain information. What she needed was to trust in herself and her own ability to accumulate knowledge, both through the Force and otherwise.

As she opened her eyes, Elyn saw the yellow glow of a Khyber crystal beckoning for her. She had found it.

    Apprenticeship:
By the time Elyn was eligible to become an Padawan, she was among the top of her fellow younglings, and was granted the privilege of studying under Master Aemon, of the Jedi Council. He taught her many things, chief among which were the use of both a lightsaber and the force.

At first, Aemon attempted to teach her his native Form II, but eventually decided it wasn't worth the time as it soon came to be seen that she simply wasn't suited to the combat style. Instead, he decided to teach her Form III, a form that both of them agreed suited her much better. For Elyn didn't just believe in the pursuit of knowledge, but also in the protection of said knowledge - and her combat style reflected that.

In addition to the lightsaber, Aemon also taught her the ways of the Force. From her time as a youngling, Elyn had become more and more interested in the mystery of the Force, and could be often be found meditating and learning about the intricacies of the Force.

As she studied, she also passed through the Trials, one by one, and eventually had finished all but the Trial of Courage.

Then, the Battle of Coruscant began. Elyn had accompanied her master to the planet on business, and was meditating when the initial strike occurred. She found her master and together the two of the immediately started to help nearby citizens reach the evacuation zones.

Then they met the Sith and her own apprentice, and combat ensued. While Elyn held her own against the Sith apprentice, her near mastery of Form III also proved to be her biggest weakness, as it prevented her from landing a decisive strike on her opponent. It was only after Aemon emerged victories from his own engagement in which the tide started to turn in Elyn's favor, and the remaining Sith was eventualy overwhelmed by the two of them.

After the battle, the Council decided that her performance during the conflict allowed her to pass the Trial of Courage, making her eligible for Knighthood.

    Knighthood:
After Elyn was made a Jedi Knight, she and Master Aemon parted ways. Elyn traveled to remote Jedi Temples in order to continue learning about the Force, and also started teaching herself Form VI. She felt it would allow her to further devote herself to her studies as well as grant her more offensive capabilities in combat later down the road.

This continued until the destruction of Typhon, after which Elyn emerged from her secluded lifestyle in order to find the cause behind the massive disturbance in the Force. It was then she discovered the details of how Typhon had been completely annihilated along with every living thing on the planet, including her former master, Aemon. Mourning both the loss of life as well as the loss of millennias of knowledge, Elyn vowed to prevent anything like Typhon from ever happening again.

For the next few years, Elyn remained in Jedha, training herself in Form III and VI as well as in the Force, and upon achieving mastery of the two Forms, left the Jedi order to join the Jedi Army.

  • A life of studying and training with little interaction with others has led Elyn to be less sociable than the average person. While not a sociopath, she has a hard time understanding what the people around her are feeling, and thus often does not have the information necessary to react or behave accordingly.

This does not mean, however, that Elyn is unkind. When she is able to correctly grasp the situation, Elyn reacts and responds with her own kind of (slightly awkward) passion. She is generally sweet even if interacting with other people is hard for her and she generally tries to be aware of the feelings of those around her, even if she isn't exactly the best at interacting with them.

Aside from her behavior, Elyn is incredibly interested in accumulating as much knowledge as humanly possible. She is constantly seen with at least one book on subjects related to history, mathematics, the Force, or combat. She will take any chance she can get to learn about the lore of her surroundings.

Del Valorous

    • Del Valorous was born on Chandrila to a well known military family. For generations, his family served in the Chandrian Navy as officers, each being successful in their own right. His father was a Lieutenant Commander of a Star Destroyer, and his mother was an assistant for a Vice-Admiral. Their parents before them held similar positions, and Del's grandfather even managed to attain the rank of Captain.

Thus, from an early age, Del was thrust into a military lifestyle. Even before he entered the Chandrian military academy, he was learning the art of war from his parents, as they taught him how to fight with both body and mind.

As soon as he was old enough, he joined the military academy in order to further his studies as well as kick-start his career into the military. During the entirety of his time at the academy, he consistently placed at the top of his class due to both his parent's tutelage and his own brilliant mind. Thus, he was given the rank of Commander and 2nd-in-Command of a Republic corvette. During the time of peace before the Republic once again was plunged into war, he slowly climbed the ranks until his rise was halted after he was promoted to Captain and given command of his own frigate.

Del's climb was once again started, however, upon the outbreak of the war and the integration of the Chandrian military into the Republic's own. During the Battle of Coruscant, he commanded his frigate to place itself into harm's way by descending into the planet's upper atmosphere in order to provide covering fire for the defenseless evacuation freighters, saving the lives of thousands of civilians. Due to his bravery during said battle, he was awarded the Medal of Valor and received a promotion to Rear Admiral, becoming one of the youngest Admirals to have ever served in the Republic navy. After his promotion, he continued to serve the Republic faithfully until its eventual demise.

When the Republic fell, Del was one of the few high-ranking officers who managed to escape the purge that followed. While the majority of his fellow Admirals were captured and executed by the Empire, Del and his fleet managed to evade a direct confrontation with the Sith.

Over the course of the next four years, Del consolidated the majority of the remnants of the old Republic's fleet, eventually gaining enough ships that - in his opinion - would be enough to once again wage open combat against the Empire in the name of the Republic.

In search of a single decisive battle, Del led the Republic remnant armada to meet with a similarly sized Imperial fleet over the planet of Kuat, where he planned to repurpose Kuat Drive Yards to produce more ships for the remnant fleet. Both he and the majority of his captains agreed that they would be able to emerge victorious and hold the system long enough for them to replenish their casualties.

They were wrong. While the battle was initially going as planned, a second Imperial taskforce emerged from hyperspace much sooner than anticipated. The Imperial reinforcements managed to flank Del's fleet, and the remnant armada was torn apart under the might of the Imperial navy. Only a few, smaller, vessels managed to escape, while every other craft was completely demolished.

Del himself was presumed dead after the end of the battle, as his flagship suffered serious damage as he once again tried to cover retreating ships. As soon as the few survivors escaped the system, Del ordered an emergency jump to a random location, hoping to save the lives of at least some of his crew. The jump was successful, but the ship had already paid the price.

Detonations ran throughout the entirety of the vessel, including the bridge, and by the time the Imperial pursuit reached them, the entire ship was ablaze, with few life signs detected. Del Valorous was presumed dead and the ship was left to burn, it's husk to serve as a reminder of the fate that rebels faced if they fought against the Empire.

However, Del was not dead. Instead, he was found alive, albeit missing an eye, arm, and both legs, by GALAF. The organization nursed his body back to health, but could not fix the psychological damage done to the once-proud admiral. Unable to cope with his defeat, Del often wakes up thinking it is 5 years in the past, only remembering his current after someone tells him so or he returns to sleep.

    • Due to psychological trauma suffered from his defeat at Kuat, Galen often has nightmares about his past and often has huge swings in his personality.

Most of the times, he's just a tired, aging, admiral who has given up on fighting the good fight. Normally, he's lethargic and tired in this state. He tends to keep to himself, and is often seen with a drink. When confronted by a pressing matter, he normally tries to retreat into alcohol.

Other times, his mind seems to set itself back 5 years, and he genuinely believes that he is still in command of the remnants, on the run from Empire or fighting a pitched battle against his foe. He normally exhibits a large amount of fear and confusion while in this state, and is often seen trying to push his rank in order to get others to listen to him - to keep order in the ranks, of course. However, he still thinks tactically, and will respond to the best of his ability when confronted.

Rarely, he resembles his old self, from before the fall of the Republic. He exudes a fierce passion to continue the to fight against his old enemies and restore the Republic. The sheer passion that can be seen shining in his eyes often inspires confidence and raises moral. Even though he is quiet-spoken, every word enraptures his men and pushes them to new heights. Rarely, Del becomes someone that people can simply look at, and feel safe knowing that they are in his care.
