The old man gave a roar of fury, and the lightning exploded away, smashing pillars and ricocheting around the room. Smoke and dust obscured the vision of all inside.

A moment later, all was still. The old man was standing in the middle of the room, breathind hard. With a start, he saw a dark shape appear out of the smoke.

Derek was standing in front of the old man, a smile playing about his features. "It isn't too late, you know. You can come back to the light, be the man you once were."

The old man laughed. "You want me to go back to the jedi. To suffer, giving my whole life for sheep who exist only to be trampled by those who should shepard them? I grew weary of that life long ago."

Derek merely raised an eyebrow, and replied, the pain he was feeling barely concealed. "And yet you hesitate to kill me? Why would that be, if not because there was some small shred of goodness left in you?"

"If the other shepards fail them, then you should teach them to shepard themselves, should you not? Don't throw away your gifts."

(old man is a former jedi master, I just decided.:CHappy:)

((Basilak is still looking at him with freaky eyes. As for the Jedi Master thing, argh))

Basilak's lightsaber roared to life."Derek he is lost, to not attempt to turn him. He will put seeds of evil into your mind. Follow a path you have chosen, not one seemingly 'given' to you." Basilak moved around the room counter clockwise. "Follow someone who actually deserves it. Master of the Shade Order. Follow him."

When Adrion felt that the older man was sufficiently distracted he let loose the energy crackling along his palms. Ten bolts of lightning blue hued arced from his hands surging forth and misplacing the air it went through creating a loud roar. The bolts with directed precision slammed forward directly into the mans chest sending him flying back slamming into a wall.

The older man slumped down energy still crackling off his broken body. The maelstrom of energy died down and Adrion bowed his head at his fallen opponent only to be interrupted by cackling laughter. "Hahaha child you thought you could defeat me with such meager darkness. However your abilities are still fearsome though I managed to negate your attack you still broke my back by pure force alone. Join me and I shall make you great." Raising himself off the ground with his robes still smoking slightly he held out a hand in a gesture of openness. "No it is you who should join us do not wallow away in a self-perpetuating darkness open your mind." Mimicking the very gesture that the old man had done he let his offer stand.

"Shame child you might've been great." The old man drooped his arm and stood ready seemingly unharmed despite his broken back. "Then darkness take you." holding his lightsaber angled towards the old man he rushed forward leaping over the man performing a series of quick slashes towards vital points along the head and neck. Without hesitation he used the wall to jump back and escape a powerful burst of lightning conjured from the old man who had now attained a shallow but dangerous cut along his neck from the great speed of Adrions personalized Ataru style. Landing lightly Adrion looked over to Basilak and with a confident smile said "your turn."

The old man crumpled back against the wall, his breath coming in sharp, violent gasps. He was dying. Nothing could change that now.

Derek staggered through the smoke to the old man, and knelt in front of him, droplets of blood falling from his fingers to the stone floor. He looked at the withered face before him, and was seized with a sudden, inexplicable sadness.

The old man gasped, slowly. "And so, it all comes to nothing.... all my plans.... my dreams.... now I am doomed to the darkness..."

Derek looked at him sadly, and then whispered. "Why can't you return to what you once were? Be what you were meant to be?"

"I.... betrayed them.... how could I possibly be taken back?" The old man laughed, his voice growing weaker.

"You could always try to remember what you once believed..." Derek's voice trailed away as his vision went suddenly blurry, and he fell backwards to sprawl, unconcious on the floor.

The old man stared at him for a moment, surrounded by the shade knights, and then gave an ironic laugh. "I could... remember the code..."

As they closed in around him, he whispered. "There is no death... there is... the.... forc..... .... e......"

Then, he passed from the world.

Like...3 or 4 people...hardly a zillion. There are plenty of independents out there. As long as we disappear before they show up they'll never know who we are.

For the last time, we're not darksided! We don't kill people for fun, we just aren't exclusively lightsided. We're still acting for the greater good, we're just more realists. If you keep acting like that, I'll make your char a padawan and make him learn our philosophy.
