The day was over, and Hattie discarded the half-empty clip that was still inserted in her carbine. Now, she had to contact higher command - but that meant the corporal would have to leave the planet. Hattie seeked out the Midnight Man.

"I'm glad we have met, but it is about time for me to leave. My superiors would be awaiting my report. May we meet again soon." She salutes the leader of the Midnight Men, and disappears among the debris and ruins of the city.
