Pestilence had acquired a master, one to teach him the ways of the Sith. He was going to become more powerful, more attuned with the dark side of the force. The thought of learning almost made the Acolyte lick his lips in hunger. The idea enthralled him, got him going through the lower, less feared Sith ranks. Yeah, sure, the word sounded evil, but only the weak cowered in front of an Acolyte, and the weak weren't worth killing in his mind.

He stood on the roof of the Sith Academy, black robe not-quite-flowing in the weak wind that passed by every now and again. It was a calm day, in a not so calm time. But a time of conflict was the perfect time for an unnoticed Acolyte to climb the ranks of the Sith. That was Pestilence's only goal, and had been since he had abandoned the Jedi Order.

While he had plenty of time to ponder and think all sorts of synonyms to the like of which meant using his brain power to create thoughts, he chose not to do so. The simplicity of just waiting there, staring out into the endless desert of Korriban and some of the city Dreshdae. Not thinking soothed Pestilence. It was good to clear one's mind before taking in information.

Darth Exilis had been on the roof of the Korriban temple for quite some time now, he didn't often come here, but something called him through the Force. He was quite, careful to keep himself in the dark and hidden. Something was coming, something with more potential than power. An acolyte? It couldn't be, most acolytes with great potential were either training under him or on some mission.

Ah, but it was. Exilis had not waited long before an acolyte made his way up here. Exilis could sense him, he had the feeling on one who knew the Jedi, but yet saw the darkness staring him in the face. Yes, he was most likely a turned Jedi, turned of his own accord probably. So many new Jedi were seeing the err in the constriction of the Jedi.

Walking up behind the acolyte, Exilis asked.
"Tell me, of what rank do you aim for? Crusader, Master, Darth, or the title of Dark Lord?"

His wait ended when a voice reached out to him. The question it posed in front of him was an easy one, and the Acolyte didn't waste any time answering it; "I question the drive of a Sith whose goal isn't to be Dark Lord." Pestilence stated, not turning back to look upon whom he assumed was his new master. It was the entire reason why he had abandoned the Jedi Order. He was ambitious, he was smart, he was strong. All he had to do was devote himself to the force and he could do anything. While that wasn't looked down upon by the Jedi, questionable actions and ethics definitely were.

But a Sith warrior would do anything to be at the top, at least that was what the Acolyte had told himself.

Exilis smiled, stepping up to the acolyte, he said.
"So you have ambition, and most likely strength to match it. What you do not have, then, is a master who can help you achieve those goals. Well, now you have a master. Follow me."

He then braced, and leapt off the Sith temple. Landing effortlessly on one of the hundreds of statues not too far below. He hopped to the next one, and looked back, expecting the Acolyte to follow. This would be his first test, a test of agility and proficiency with the Force. One he hoped the man would pass with relative ease.

The training began fast, his new Sith master jumping right into the training...not figuratively, literally leaping from the roof of the freaking temple and on top of the statues. With a sigh, the young man decided that it was his job to follow the man. It was a simple task, really, and the Acolyte's balance was good enough...after getting going, of course. Deciding upon his readiness, Pestilence jumped. Parkour wasn't exactly his strong suit, but he was going to have to get over it eventually.

Landing on the first statue was simple, but staying on...not so much. Almost losing his footing, Pestilence stumbled around for a moment trying to regain balance. When all was good, his confidence rose. For him, the first jump was always the hardest.

Waiting for the Master to move, Pestilence remained silent.

Exilis smiled, he had passed the first test, good. Now, to see how fast a learner he was. Exilis began effortlessly leaping from one statue to the next while explaining.
"The Dark Side is a powerful ally and a dual sided sword as well. It will cut both ways if you are not careful. Gather the dark side to you, manifest it in your palms, put in every dark emotion you keep hidden even from yourself. Discharge it in one angry burst, and it will come out as lightning. Attempt to do so!"

Pestilence quickly followed his new teacher in leaping across the statues, adequately able to keep up with the man once he had gotten his balance in order and the like. Listening to what he said, the pace of the Acolyte's learning had been set. It was going to go by fast, and he was going to learn many things. Not but five minutes into the lesson and he was learning how to summon up lightning. Compared to the way the Jedi taught their initiates and padawans, the scarred human was pleased. As he continued to leap, Pestilence thought about the things that he hated the most. Whether it be the Jedi order and the way it had treated him, or his peers inside the order who stole the glory and recognition he deserved. The anger inside him wasn't too deep, and it didn't take much effort to manifest it in his hands. He'd read about the force power before, and now was able to show how well he understood it.

His hatred was deep, and just continued to fall as his heart beat rose, each time coinciding with the other. Pestilence unleashed his hatred and what understanding of the dark side he possessed, a strong bolt of lightning flying from his hand off into the distance, he didn't bother seeing where. It had one or two weaker arcs from the most powerful bolt, but nothing too impressive. But for his first time in a while, the Acolyte was pleased.

Exilis hopped from statue to statue, suddenly stopping and dropping to the ground below. Turning, he began walking and said.
"Excellent. I train each acolyte differently. You will be receiving a sort of, 'crash course' through the Dark Side. I expect you to shove out and find other acolytes to train with as well as learning from me. For example, you have just learned lightning, now I would expect you to go either pick a fight or get into a duel with another acolyte and test out your lightning to an even better extent.

Another power you should know is tutaminis. It is an extremely valuable power, and some, such as myself, have developed it to the point of blocking a lightsaber. Feel the force, gather it to you, hold it close and dissipate the natural energy it comes in contact with. By doing that it will naturally dissipate the energy that attacks it."

Exilis suddenly spun and unleashed a small, precise bolt of lightning towards Pestilence's chest. It wasn't strong enough to seriously injure him or kill him, just enough to test him.

Pestilence nodded, this training certainly going faster than his last. His duty was to fight other acolytes, he would do exactly that. As he was quickly brought along to another power, the former Jedi once again listened intently, having not heard about this power as much. Doing as he was told, he imagined himself using such a power to do what his Master had just recently explained; stop a lightsaber attack. He held the force he had gathered close to his chest, eyes closed, gathering more and more yet.

The acolyte opened his eyes when a shot of lightning crackled. It was coming close, and right at him. Holding out his hands to where the bolt was headed, the force he had gathered and the small bolt of lightning connected. Pestilence could feel a small bit of electricity running through him, and while it was a bit worse than a normal static charge or discharge or whatever, it wasn't hard for him to shrug off. Most of the bolt had been absorbed by the force, and the acolyte felt he had done well for a first shot. He awaited his Master's reaction however.

Nodding, Exilis's corner of his mouth curled into a smile. He told the acolyte.
"Excellent. Continue to train your powers. Through me you will learn, but through others you will train. To train your powers on another being is the height of strength, and to best them proves your resolve to destroy all those that would dare question your power. I will seek you out again in a few days, then we will learn another power that will be of great use to you. A power that, if learned now, will be of excellent use to you once you are a Crusader, and of even greater use once you are a Sith Lord."

Exilis turned then, walking away. He had taught this acolyte the basic powers he would need in a duel with any other Sith or a Jedi. Next time, he would teach him the powers other master's could not. The powers that would place him a rank above all those around him. Force Immunity, Revitalize, and Force Maelstrom.

Pestilence nodded as his master left. It had been a short lesson, but it would prove useful if he were to actually challenge any of the other acolytes. That was his next goal in the day, as it was yet early. His aims were high and his time was plenty...but why waste it? The Acolyte's pace was fast, as it always was. though this time he had a reason why. The lightsaber hanging from his belt clanked against the scarred man's armor, giving him a steady rhythm to walk with. As he walked, he went over the two powers he had just learned again and again in his head, along with the idea of even greater powers in just a short few days. But he didn't have the patience to guess what they'd be.
