Such a surprise attack Mandalore was not ready for. His shields had turned off, and he had forgotten to reactivate them. Such rookie mistakes he would not make again. However, Dace had made a mistake himself; he had attacked explosive fuel with a heat source in his lightsaber. Not a brilliant plan.
The ensuing explosion was huge, to say the very least. Mandalore, thank the Force, had a Thermal Shield Generator. Even that had its limits, and his armor came out of the blast scored and a bit heated. His cooling systems that normally regulated his body temperature inside the suit were working overtime. He had a few blisters and burns on his forearm, and the automated kolto healing systems in his armor were also working to heal those.
Even with his great strength, Mandalore couldn't withstand the physical blow of the blast. His weight and increased physical capabiltiies helped to lessen his flight, but he still flew about five yards and fell onto the ground. He had a nasty bruise on his back from that fall. All in all, however, things certainly could've gone worse.
Smoke was everywhere, and Mandalore turned on the infrared setting on his visor, so he could track Dace's body heat. The only good thing that had come out of this explosion was that Dace probably hadn't expected it either, and with Aryas's Ysalamir around, the Jedi might not have escape as unscathed as Mandalore did.
