THEME
It was certainly a place that was unique. Koil stood on a natural outcropping half way up the crevasse. His usual V slit helmet on his head panned up and down to go from looking down at the darkned depths of the crevasse to thee light edge of the surface above.

This was in fact a village for the local Neti species. Thick roots and carved rock formed structures both man made and natural built in along the crevasse. The War Councilor was here to meet with the members of the leadership here about joining the mandalorians.

The Neti had been harassed recently so Koil was on his guard for possible raiders. While he did not wish an attack on these people, defending them would strengthen their relations. "This way. I'll take you to the envoy." Said the Neti that had so far just given the Mandalorians a tour of the village. It had been nice and Koil could appreciate the communion that the Neti had with the nature around them.

What a lovely planet, Parek thought as he was with the War Councilor Koli of Clan Solus. Truth be told he didn't know much about this planet going into this. Now that he is on planet side he finds it fascinating to be on Myrkr. The view is nice and he's with an actual tree person that are apparently really in tune with nature. Apparently the Neti the can change the shape of their bodies, make themselves grow and are really in tune with the Force. He didn't know how much of that was true though. Anyways, Parek was wearing his own beskar'gam, his modified T-Visor hiding his facial expression. He also has his usual standard equipment along with a compact carbine with two spare reloads for it.

So basically what as he understands is the Mandos are here to talk to the Neti leaders and see about them joining the Mandalorian bandwagon. Myrkr was part of Imperial Republica and then they decided to jump off the sinking ship known as the the Sith Empire back when all those other systems declared independence.

With luck, this should be a nice chat with the Neti. Although just in case Parek was on his guard, the briefing noting there have been raiders that have been harassing the Neti. With that, Parek would be with Koil and the Mandobirdo would nod his head at the Neti after he stated he'd take them to the envoy.

Following the sentient flora, Koil kept his gaze up and about. There was a lot to see in this place and its beauty was remarkable. However jungles also tended to be very dangerous. The location was known for being under threat from raiders.

As if to confirm his concerns the sound of an explosion sounded through the trees. The high branches of trees shook enough to make a flock of birds flap in a swarm away from it. The Mandalorians' guide spoke in Neti, what was probably a curse, before turning towards them. "They have returned."

Koil already knew what to do. Looking over at Parek the Mandalorian activated his jetpack's flight mode and took off towards the sound of the explosion. Already a cloud was forming. They had been heading that way so chances were that the envoys of the Neti were towards that location as well. All the more reason to intercept the hostiles.

From this altitude it looked to be a few dozen non-Neti raiders. It was still too far away for him to use his pistols on them though. Activating his bulwark shield he expected the corsairs to probably start shooting at them before they arrived. Grabbing his quick draw blaster in his right hand he would be ready to lay down some fire the moment he was within range.

Parek still couldn't get over how beautiful this planet is as he walks with the Neti , taking in he sights he thought that if he wasn't a Mandalorian, he wouldn't mind spending his spreading his wings across the skies of this planet. The sound of an explosion in the distance knocked him into reality. Serious buisness now, Parek turned in the direction of the explosion. War Council member Koil didn't waste any time jumping in to action, and Parek didn't either. When Koil took off with his jetpack, Parek took flight himself using his wings to do so. As a species of fast fliers, he could keep up with Koil in his jetpack. One at a time he would begin to be drawing his weapons while he's keeping flight, first his blaster carbine in his right hand, then one of his Strill blaster pistols on his next.

At the ground level, he could spot the raiders as well. Non-Neti looking for profit by pillaging he Neti. Unforgivable. Well, this what the Mandalorians are here for. The raiders are going to regret being here.

Similarly to Koil Parek has to be more closer up for his weapons to be effected, unlike Koil though he doesn't have a shield gauntlet. The raiders using rifles could shoot them before the Mandos could shoot them, but when it comes to that the birb plans on using his natural grace and maneuverability in the skies to help close the distance. Plus he has jetboots which he can also use for an extra push. As the Mandos get in close, Parek is ready to fight.

The sound of the jetpack were not as subtle as he would have liked. Maybe he should consider switching to jetboots one of these days though they were less capable in terms of flight performance. The warrior did his best to dodge out of the way of the shots aimed up at him.

It was an odd angle for the enemies below and shooting at a flying object with anything other than a high rate of fire weapon or a scatter-blaster was difficult. There would be no objects for judging distance and leading the target was a little harder. But Koil had planned on that in the first place.

Taking advantage of this innaccuracy the War Councilor did not return fire right away. Instead he took out one of his thermal detonators and cooked it for a few seconds while laying down a supresive series of shots. Some were still ballsy though and took shots at him. They would be the ones getting the ordenance once the Echani had cooked it long enough and tossed it with the added vilocity of his jetpack.

The entance the hositle corsairs had made using explosives was only lit up further by the thermal detonator. It caught several enemies at once.

With the the raiders firing their blasters at them and with the Mandorians still a considerable distance away, it wasn't very hard to be dodging their shots, especially for a natural flier like the Birbmando. As the shots are flying, Parek would do a proper barrel roll, weaving through the air with no real pattern to it as he's twisting his body. With how slow blaster bolts are and the Rishii's maneuvers they would miss.

Of course he didn't want to get too close just yet. If he gets too close then he wouldn't be able to dodge them. When the thermal detonator was thrown, Parek would then move fly above the raider group so he wouldn't be flying into blaster bolts and for height advantage. By this time, Koil's detonator would have landed and it would have blown up a group of raiders to ash.

Now Parek would begin to drop down, once he's within good range of his blaster pistols, he'd aim them at a few pirates ripe for the picking. With his wings also spread out he'd be able to slow his descent a bit. With that he'd fire six shots total, felling three pirates without problems that were still reeling from a lot of them being turned into dust with a thermal detonator. With that, he'd still be falling while gliding gently to the ground, his blaster pistols still raised up ready to fire some more.

Parek was keeping his distance. He had the longer range guns anyways. Koil though had limited options in that regard. Leveling his right arm at another cluster of hostiles he sighted in and fired off the wrist rocket associated with the appendage.

With a woosh the weapon streamed through the open air. The eyes of the attackers had probably widened as they saw the ordnance racing towards them. A moment later a bloom of fiery destruction and shrapnel shot up and out, catching three in its blast and sending others flinching towards cover.

There were more people here than the raiders and the Mandalorians though. Neti were doing their best to defend their home. This was their livelihood and they were not about to roll over. Still, many of them were not as well equipped and competent in combat as the War Councilor and his Marauder cohort.

With this in mind Koil started angling away from the fight. Blaster bolts whipped through the air. He needed to make contact with the Neti leader who organized the defense.

After Koil thrown his grenade, Parek observed that it killed quite a few and then routed a few others behind cover. Aiming to just take them out then and there, Parek with his left hand took out a frag grenade, pulling the pin quickly with a finger, he would throw it with force. The grenade would was purposefully thrown behind their cover so it would catch the pirate mooks in it's blast radius. The raiders that it's threatening to kill would be in shock and couldn't react in any meaningful way to it. All they had to do was die and that's exactly what they did.

With that raiders numbers in this area are drastically reduced. He looked at Koil who was angling himself in the direction of the Neti leader. Taking the hint there, Parek would turn around and start flapping his wings, ready to follow behind Koil with speed. The Neti defenders will more than likely be able to mop up the rabble here. The Neti leader is the primary objective here, if he falls then this mission is a bust. Can't let that happen. Won't let that happen.

The fast reaction from Koil and Parek had deterred the initial shock attack of the brigands. Their momentum had slowed and allowed the local Neti defenders to gather their strength. Seeing them take the fight to the enemy was good. It meant they were not completely helpless but there was some capabilities that were left to be desired.

The leader he approached turned to him after giving some orders. The man stiffened but then realized that the two mandalorians were friendlies. Either the reputation of Mandalorians was enough to cause the tree like being a hint of wariness or it was the fact that the two of them were just not Neti and probably looked like outsiders the same as the attackers.

"It looks like you could use the assistance of a couple Mandalorians if this is a common thing." Turning his helmet he looked towards where the Neti were routing the dwindling attackers. "I'm glad to have you and your companion with us today. I think having more of your people around will be even better. Thank you for your quick assistance. We will look forward to having it in the future." The talking flora bowed its head a bit. Koil nodded his own head.

The MandoBirdo gathered the same observation that Koil gathered. The Neti can protect themselves to a degree, but not quite enough. With Mando protection, the tree people will be safe, not just from raiders, but also from the vile Sith Empire for when those snakes would try reclaiming lost territory, which includes Myrkr. Parek didn't say anything as he was roosted while Koil was speaking to the Neti elder. Not only are the Neti's gaining Mandalorian protection, the Mandos will be gaining their support going forward. The Mandos will continue to build their own empire and strengthen their hold in the Inner Rim.

Parek nodded his head his head after Koil as the older tree person bowed, and then this meeting as well as mission came to an end. The raider attack on the Neti would be repelled thanks mostly to the Mandos, the Neti are now with the Mandalorian war machine and the main take away is Mandalorian territory is growing again once more. Now that this meeting is done and the raider problem is taken care of for now, time for them to leave. Shame, the Birdmando would like to spend more time on Myrkr, it's such a nice planet...

Oh well, maybe next time.
