TS-40 Starburst
[beebox3=90%][/beebox3][beebox3=90%]
Type and Description[/beebox3]
[beebox3=90%]
Type — Electric Arc Gun

Weight — .6 kg

Intent — Provide a method of killing or stunning by electrocution

Affiliation — Jemma Rhi'mans

Ownership — Anyone who wants one

Range — 30 m

Ammo Capacity — 20 shots

Description — Fires electricity arcs of varying strength, depending on the setting, in three second bursts. The weapon must cool down for five seconds before firing again. The burst can be disengaged at any time during the three second burst, but the energy discharges all the same, meaning the cool down is not reduced. On the kill setting, each second is equivalent to about the energy of one medium blaster bolt. Due to the electrocuting properties, a hit anywhere on the body for the three second duration can put someone out of the fight, and potentially kill them. This level is also sufficient to knock out any electric systems on the target's person.

Some advantages of this weapon are that it can give prolonged blasts, allowing one to follow a target while keeping the blast trained on them, and that it can be used through metal armors.

On the stun setting, the weapon will only give blasts sufficient to give minor burns, and knock someone unconscious. This setting will also knock out electric systems.

The five second cool down leaves a large time period without defenses. If a person has protection from electrocution built into their armor, the weapon is essentially useless.

How does the ammunition related to the arcs? each second 1 shot, so to speak or...?

My initial idea was 20 3-second burst shots, with the energy of each shot dispersing regardless of whether or not the shot is held for all three seconds. So basically there are twenty shots no matter what, with the longest each burst can get being 3 seconds.

My initial thoughts upon reading this entry: Nope. A gun that's a Stun Gun on steroids, but also uses those very same rules to basically bypass armour, in order to one-shot kill them, even on a grazing shot? No. I'm not going to approve it. Nor is Clayton. Especially since, even if you don't CHOOSE to kill someone after they've been struck (because that's what it reads like), the person has only two seconds to recover from a full body stun, before you can fire again. Rinse and repeat 20 seconds.

Even for the GCW era, this would be advanced tech. No way it's going to fly.

And don't PM me about how I'm wrong this time.
