NAME: Vennfandalkass (Venn for short)
FACTION: The Jedi Knights
RANK: Knight
SPECIES: Squib
AGE: 17 (23 years human equivalent)
GENDER: Male
FORCE SENSITIVE: Trained

APPEARANCE:
Vennfandalkaas is a Squib, a small canine species. Standing at just under a meter tall, and weighing around fifty pounds, the young Jedi has more heart than stature. A coat of fine blue fur coats his entire body, and his eyes are a piercing yellow. Normally he wears his standard Jedi robes, though when he can find alternate or 'interesting' equipment that fits him, he will often incorporate it into his attire. Despite his size, Venn stands with the confidence and bearing of a Jedi, and a much larger Jedi at that.

ATTRIBUTES:
Venn is a Jedi Knight, with all of the training that goes along with it. Skilled in the Force, and with a lightsaber, he is part of an Order that has fought the Dark Side for millennia. Being on the smaller side has forced him to become adaptable in combat, and he is considered to be proficient not only in Shii-cho, the form that most learn, but also the more acrobatic and mobile Ataru form. Knowing that going blade-to-blade with most opponents in a contest of strength would mainly be suicidal, he prefers to engage from unexpected directions, trading brute force for dexterity. He also has some technical skill, as is common to his people, seemingly having an innate knowledge of how machines work and can be taken apart and reassembled.

He is, however, a small creature. Standing only as tall as the average human's stomach, Venn is often looked down upon, both literally and figuratively, by those who assume that being small equates one with being a child. Despite a keen wit and intelligence, this is an issue that has plagued the young Squib for most of his life. The other downside to his stature is his physical being, which by human standards makes him quite frail and prone to injury. Whereas a blaster bolt might only injure a human's lung, Venn's smaller form means that a similar wound could kill him outright, burning through multiple organs. Despite passing his trials, Venn is also afraid of being captured and made a slave once more, to the point that he suffers from occasional night terrors.

PERSONALITY:
Venn is...quirky. Being a member of a short lived species, he tends to think, talk, and act more quickly than his longer lived counterparts, and is often the first to express an idea, opinion, or belief. Sometimes his over-eagerness gets the better of him, and he has been known to become almost unintelligible when he's excited, or speaking about an issue dear to him. At times this had led people to believe that he is simply overeager or too young to know to temper eagerness with caution, whether this is true or not remains to be seen.

Determined to be the best Jedi he can be, Venn also has a burning determination to end slavery wherever he can. Being brought up a slave, and later returning to a camp, has made him aware of the fact that slavery is a massive problem in parts of the galaxy, and he is determined to spare others the suffering that he and others like him have gone through in the past.

BIOGRAPHY:
Were it not for the random acts of many, Vennfandalkaas would have been born, lived, and died as so many sentient beings in the lawless parts of the galaxy, under the thumb of slavers and slave owners. His parents had been captured a decade before his birth by slavers who knew the value of having technology-savvy Squib around. Being a race of shorter than average lifespans, they had been forced to create children, so that within a few short years two Squib would become ten. It was into this life that Vennfandalkaas was born, the fourth of eight children.

At the age of two, a routine Border Alliance patrol happened upon a damaged slaver ship. After disabling it's engines, the patrol boarded the freighter, capturing the slavers and freeing the cargo hold full of their wares before taking them back to Garos, where they were treated and taken care of for a brief time. It was during the initial wellbeing check that a healer from the Jedi Order first spotted the young Squib. The healer sensed the force talents that lay dormant within Venn, and it didn't take long for his parents to agree to send him to the Order. His parents loved all of their children, but they knew that, even freed from slavery, their lives would be hard, and one less mouth to feed would help.

The young Squib found quickly that his life was to be turned around, yet some things remained constant. After living in cramped quarters with many people for his entire life, he was glad to discover that he was not alone, with Jedi and fellow younglings seemingly everywhere, even if he did have his own space. His early years with the Jedi progressed as with any other initiate, learning everything from history to philosophy. Aging at a faster rate than most species, he thus was a quicker study than his peers, such that by the time he was ten, he was deemed ready to become a Padawan.

His new master, a Jedi Knight, was quick to select him as his own apprentice. Believing that doing is teaching, he accompanied his master on most of his assignments, many of which at the time involved the growing dispute between the Border Alliance, The Jedi, and the returning Sith Brotherhood. While careful to never put his padawan in a situation where he encountered Sith, the young Squib nonetheless racked up his own accomplishments at his master's side.

It was during an assignment to the Edusa system that Venn's training was put to the test. A raid in conjunction with Border Alliance troopers on a slaver's complex ended in disaster due to faulty reconnaissance of the slaver's defenses. Most of the attacking force, including his master, were killed, with Venn and a handful of Alliance soldiers captured. For Venn, it was his worst nightmare, a return to a time when he was nothing but a slave.

His captivity lasted for three months, during which time he formed close bonds with some of the other slaves. When presented with the opportunity to escape, during a transfer of slaves to another base, he not only took control of the cargo skiff used to transport the slaves, killing two guards in the process, he also, with a group of others, piloted the skiff, under pursuit, to the nearest population center, where local authorities were waiting.

Reunited with the Order, after arranging for the repatriation of the slaves to their home planets, Venn expected to be assigned to a new master after mourning his old one. However, to his surprise, he was permitted to undergo the trials of Knighthood. He completed his trials, having already been considered to have passed the trial of fear during his captivity.

SKILLS:
-Venn is skilled in the Force, having a working knowledge of the fundamentals, as well as a specialization in telekinesis and acrobatics to compensate for his size.
-He is also skilled with a lightsaber, having studied Shii-cho as a young apprentice, he went on to dedicate large amounts of time to become skilled in Ataru, an acrobatic form of combat.
-Being a Squib, Venn has some skill with mechanical objects, though not nearly to the level of skill of those who dedicate their time to learning such things.

GEAR:
A short, blue bladed lightsaber in the shoto style
Basic gear, several sets of robes, plain clothes, commlink, datapad, etc.

ROLE-PLAYS:
Tangible Possibilities (In progress)
