STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
STRENGTHS: Veren is very shrewd, and is a master tactician. He is physically strong, and relatively agile. Acrobatics are a useful component of his arsenal, and he can out-think many of the galaxy's great minds. He is graceful and efficient with a lightsaber. He is incredibly effective in a life-filled environment, such as a forest, due to his skill at harnessing nature and using it to his advantage. His fighting style favors distraction and keeping your enemy on your toes- hence the acid-round concealed slughthrower pistol and the jar of Firedrakes.
WEAKNESSES: Although he is very intelligent, Veren tends to out-think and out-strategize himself, tying himself up in a complicated series of plots and contingency plans you couldn't cut through with a lightsaber. He isn't as fast as some Jedi or Dark Jedi, however, and he's somewhat a drama queen in combat situations- things such as talking way too much, and not acting quickly, and being somewhat flashy with his Makashi style. His skill with a slug-thrower is mediocre at best, and his piloting skills aren't much to be mentioned.

PERSONALITY:
Veren is an extremely charming personality. His laugh is considered infectious, and he always seems positive. He is a witty, satirical being, prone to making fun of someone or making sardonic statements about others. Veren tends to be a little on the non-serious side, but in the face of danger, all traces of humor vanish, and he is a very calculating and intent on details. He never leaves anything to chance, if he can help it. He greatly enjoys hours upon hours of scheming and politicking- he would likely fulfill his role well if he were a Jedi liaison.
Veren tends to be able to charm most beings, but some, like Abyssins and Aqualish, just unnerve him, and he isn't very good around them. He is very observant, and he conceals a watchful, attentive, sharp brain behind his sapphire irises. He is prone, however, to drastically over-thinking an given situation and come to grandiose conclusions where none should be found. He will over-compensate for many things, ranging from attacks to poorly-textured crackers. Veren's fighting style mirrors his personality- taking people by surprise with outrageously flashy and unexpected methods, such as unleashing a swarm of burning insect pets into your face, and detonating a flashbang at point-blank range.
HISTORY:
Veren was born on his species' home planet in fairly normal condition. He wasn't exceptional, and seemed normal. Then, his Force-Sensitivity showed. He could charm almost anyone into doing what he wanted, and he could use mild telekenisis. He exhibited true Force potential at age 12, and was celebrated. However, he preferred being out of the public eye, so he faded into the background.
For the next six years, he excelled at school, completed enormous amounts of community service, and helped elderly "Equines." Veren worked with his two friends, Morell and Sherado, who both later joined the Republic Military at age eighteen. Veren instead chose a different path.
He left his homeplanet, exploring the Mid Rim. Then the Inner. Coruscant he loved the most. He spent two years with an elderly Bothan, who was like the father he never had- his own was killed in a crash when he was three. After roughly one year, the Bothan died. Veren moved to an apartment complex near the Administrative Sector of Coruscant, and lived there for some time. Then, he decided to attempt to join the Jedi Order, and is was trained under Jedi Knight Chester Ducere- he completed his training with flying colors, making his distincitvely Makashi-style lightsaber. He became a Jedi Guardian.
Now, the Hutt War, twenty years after the Alsakan Crisis's resolution, has brought the forty-three year-old Jedi Knight to a realization. He believes he should take a Padawan, because up until now, he has not bothered to train one. War makes you realize these things. And to Veren, he believes that the Republic has had its share of war. But wars never happen when you're ready, so it was almost strange to Veren that was had only broken out this recently.
