I generally like to bounce my character ideas off some people to make sure my thoughts are in line with the current flow of things. Especially since I know none of you :p

I have this idea that wont quit. A force sensitive, maybe previous Sith or Jedi trained individual, who is like a traveling monk- a martial arts master. Kinda disillusioned with what the order taught them originally, (thinking maybe dark Jedi /sith trained originally. And became disillusioned with the ideals of evolution through conflict, and constantly seeking power) exiled themselves/going on the run. In doing this, finding their skills useful in hunting down marked criminals and being paid for his services. Eventually finding a calling as a bounty hunter, due to there being no loyalties to anyone but himself, and the originators. Leaving him in peace to meditate daily, and do his own form of giving balance to the galaxy by bringing in people who have done others wrong to answer for their crimes. Maybe a projection of his own guilt or something...

Also have an idea for a younger Sith acolyte, but wouldn't like to do this alone. I'd need a buddy for trainings. Young kid who was found as being force sensitive, and joins with them because of a 'first come, first serve' mindset, and ignorance of other outlets.

Or a Jedi sentinel. Loved the idea of maybe working alongside a bit of a consular, looking out for dark side artifacts, holocrons, even nexuses, and destroying them. Or working in a system of planets like Hutt space somewhere. Working to hunt down specific criminals.

I also like the idea of a typical cliche bounty hunter. Hate to admit I like the gimmick of the man with no name... Haha. So maybe a previous c-sec beat cop that got fed up with yellow tape, started busting heads and got in trouble for it. Seeing it as an opportunity, he leaves the force in search for a member of the Bounty Hunter guild to try to get vetted by a current hunter so he can get into the business.

Looks like I enjoy the typical BH, Jedi, or Sith roles... Or some mixture of elements... Lol..

Anywho, trying to get my creative momentum going. Not sure if any of this is fresh, fun, or viable on the site, but would like to hear some feedback as I begin to plot my journey to character creation :P

I'm a person who loves just creating character concepts and running away with them as well, so are many others here so you're in good company :).

The first idea seems the most detailed but all of these characters have the potential to be rich and compelling. If an idea just doesn't run away with you at first start asking questions about the character. Where did they grow up/Where are they from? What are their aspirations? What's their one trait that defines them above all others? These are all great questions that can help a character concept to bloom into full character.

I like all of your ideas. Keep in mind, since you mentioned both the sith and the jedi that as a writer you can only have characters in ONE main faction. That means you'd have to choose jedi or sith, you couldn't have both characters at the same time. Also, you can have up to three characters and only up to two of them can be in the main faction you choose. Just reiterating that, in case you weren't aware. :)

Food for thought: There's an independent faction called The Fulcrum that is working on getting approved. When it is approved it is based around a "gray jedi" idea. Basically, members use only neutral or light side powers (no dark side), but do not agree or like the sith or the jedi. They feel that both extreme ends of the spectrum are wrong and not viewing the Force as a natural power. Their primary goals involve locating powerful jedi and sith artifacts/holocrons/etc to keep them out of the war.

I'd say pick the character ideas that seem the most fun to you and interest you the most. Those will be the ones you stick with and write for a long time!
