I'm having troubles imagining a good image for how my character's training thread should start out. My character is going to be self-trained, and therefore I will have to write everything out to a T by myself. The problem is, however, that I cannot find a good place to start.

At this point in time, my character would have already left Onderon, met with her contact, went to Arbra, and been found by a Jedi (Loogo) , all to end up in the temple on Arbra. That is all. The story stops dead right there, and I am forced to conjure up my training thread all by myself.

That being said, I would need to meditate on the pillars, and have been able to be steered in the right direction.

Well, the beauty in Arbra is that the ENTIRE planet is hidden, and you have an ENTIRE planet to train on, go on adventures, build your life around there, basically. From what I've read, the entire planet is one giant forest world, with rivers and mountains and whatnot being other major staples. You could start off by a river, maybe climb a waterfall, meditate ontop the waterfall, overlooking the Jedi Temple, which would actually be nothing as it's masterfully concealed within the terrain of the planet, and underground. I was actually going to suggest a few animals and such to GABA, as to give the Jedi there some things to look out for while traveling the planet, but as far as lightsaber training, or anything else, I'd probably go ask another Jedi PC to help you out. Force training, well, that can always be done alone, works best in nature.

Would it be feasible to write the thread out like I would a journal, logging in events over a course of months? Or is that not allowed?

However you want to write it is acceptable, so long as you enjoy the format and it's easy to keep up with for other readers on the board.

Hey, thanks! That helps a lot. Some of the other roleplaying sites that I've been on have had strict rules about time management.

There might be on this site, but I've never seen anyone get flack for it or in trouble because of it, really. I, myself, take on a bunch of threads at one time, and have to organize them in terms of time, and more often than not, are they in a mess in terms of order since some get completed before another does. They're pretty lenient, just so long as you don't overwhelm yourself and keep them completed on time. There's a variety of "flashback" threads as well, which you can do to reveal a bit more backstory to your already established character.

I like the idea of the journal thread, and meditating or practicing skills different places on the planet daily or weekly, and its not like your journal has to be years long. But good idea, hope to see it pan out.
