Apparantly, a man is suing Microsoft Corp. because the X-Box 360 heats up and freezes the chips inside of it if it is used for long periods of time.

Bullshit? I think so....

Yes..your knowledge is correct, not one, but many people are experiencing flaws with the system and other defects. The most popular flaw is 30 minutes after the system is turned on, it begins to slow down and eventually freeze up.

In relation to this, sometime in January the second generation of Xbox 360 will be released just as the old one had the same idea. This new generation will be updated and better tested in fixing these current problems, myself and others are awaiting to the release date on when it shall be coming.

Indeed...my friends purchased it after they made the annoucement, so I wouldn't be surprised if people are trying to sue Microsoft.

Secondly, some people who didn't get the flaws instantly will experience it within coming months, as my older Xbox, buying it release day experienced problems 6 months after purchase where it was near impossible to play.

And it is for this very reason why I wait a while before buying a new system...lol.

From what I have heard, a lot of these instances are where people have their system in an enclosed space with very little airflow and that could have led to the overheating. If people remember, I was calling this happening. I refuse to get the launch model of pretty much anything because there are always bugs.

there have been a few instances where there are defects with the 360, I know of many people through xbox live and a few RL friends who have no defects what so ever, but there are a few who have major problems like the system eating disks and ruining them, or memory deleting itself

I read on the Microsoft forums, that most of the defective 360s, were the ones shipped for the Mountain Dew contest.

If you want to know some important details about the 360 you should try going to www.ign.com and check out their section on the 360, there are some new updates there about the defects and apparent gliches with the console. They even have their own review on how well Microsoft dealt with the launch of the xbox 360

Meh, I think that all the glitches are a bit exagerated. That happens. I know a few people who got one and they work perfectly. Plus, I read somewhere that Microsoft is willing to fix them for free or some such thing... gotta love warranties.

check this out, ign.com got a bunch of reponses from people who bought xbox 360s. In most of the stories people's systems either worked perfectly or it was defective and they called 1-800-4myxbox and got a replacement sent in for free from handy old ms

Yeah I was watching G4TV yesterday at about 11:00ish (home sick; barfed twice, temp 103.2) and they were interviewing the MS guy and he said most don't crash but those that do get them replaced

supposedly (tis what ms says) only 3-5 percent of 360 owners have found defects with the system

yup, As I said, Mine is fine..

but then again All systems have been like that SOME times, like with my original X-box, All it took was playing to break it in, then it was flawless

And Im not supprised that Microsoft will replace it so willingly,, it's not like sony,, with sony product most of the time they don't admit to problems, and many many times refuse to do anything about it

Word of advice about Sony....you get put on hold for HOURS before you finally get through and can speak to someone in customer service. I had to call them for my CEO about his VAIO and let me tell you, that was a pain in the you know what.
