Name: Xanith

Coordinates: I-20

Climate: Temperate for most of the planet, magnetic northern pole is cold but not frozen due to tilt, Southern Pole is extremely cold and has various Winter Hurricanes and storms. +/- 20 degrees of equator have tropical wet weather, to the poles most have four temperate seasons.
Terrain: The planet surface is roughly ~30% ground and ~70% water. The planet has two major continents and one minor. All three tend to have a long mountain range that run from magnetic north to south, each nearly all the way. The Largest of the continents has two large lakes that are clearly visible from space and generally well taken care of and home to large populations of both Xanthos and native freshwater aquatic creatures. The main continent also features vast forests and the largest desert on the planet.

The second cons is nearly all covered in forests and streams. Unlike the main continent it has little change in environment and tends to stay as a near solid forest or forested mountains There are a few grass plains but most of the growth is the same large.

The last major continent makes up the majority of the Northern Pole, it is a tundra that stays relatively frozen and can be covered from time to time in a decently thick layer of snow. A relative wasteland compared to the rest of the lush planet it has few distinct features aside from that it is crawling with interconnected chambers and tunnels. Only the most secret or dangerous research goes on here as the natural tunnels can be collapsed in and seal off sections.

Rotation: Has a standard 32 hour day, ~20 hours of daylight and 12 darkness, and 300 day year.

Inhabitants: Xanthos

Resources: Outside of the normal minerals and metals, the planet is host to a unique flora, called Hesti, that secretes a very effective anti-septic material that is used by the Xanith to create strong salves that work great at healing external wounds on most sentient species. It is ever good at recovering scars into their normal state and is one of the most effective antibiotics, fungicide and antivirals. An added benefit is the plant itself makes fiber that allow for a strong fibermesh to be made that is a bit above average in its heat resistant properties when cured in a special way.

Government: The Government is a confederation of all the major Enclaves and City States on the planet. The leading body is called the United Council of Genetics, they are the leading group of researchers on the planet as well as the acting leaders of the planet. They are voted in by direct democracy in each territory and also have basic controls over the “Military” Each Enclave and City State sends as well as people sign up to work for the Self Defense forces that protect the planet from raiders and pirates as well as offer assistance to the Enclaves and City States both on and off planet. The government supplies all medical care including psychiatric help as well as all other forms of medical care. Outside of the main Self Defense Force, the individual Enclaves and City States provide their own security forces. Only in times of crisis does the Self Defense Forces have jurisdiction over the local security forces.

Economy: Overall the planet's Economy is Service, but each Enclave and City State would have its own. Most though offer some sort of medical aid for off planet use and types of gene therapy. Though do the long lives, they also offer expert craftsmanship on high end luxury products.
Culture: Against any type of slavery they tend to not look favorably on the those who are slaver’s usually it results in one of the few times that the people don’t hold back usually giving them only one warning in the best of times.

Technology: Same standard or close to the greater galaxy.

Satellites: One water covered hollow moon, few tropical islands breathable atmosphere. Ice and rock rings on one plane.

History: Outside of the events of the Xanthos, the planet has remained relatively low key. Since the invasion of the Yegar Pirates in the past, the planet has maintained a more vigilant watch over outsiders. Shortly after the events of the pirates invasion, the UCOG created what would be the current iteration of the Self Defense Forces. With their creation the bought and traded for the plans of several anti-orbital turbolaser cannons and ion cannons. In the time since, they have gotten old and the guns while still operation at least on paper have never been fired in anger and rarely fired as a drill. Outside the capital and many of the larger research City states the large guns stand and watch ever vigilant.

In more contemporary times, the planet still shy to the galaxy has started to sell their various wares from high end luxury craftsmanship on various parts for ships and the like. They have since set up small off world Enclaves on a few planets but the most notable and largest is on Imynusoph. They have been providing care and supplies in exchange for many of the rare species of animals that inhabit such a strange world. The city itself houses one of the most advanced facilities on the planet as well as one of UCOGs best schools and research areas. One of the few areas where the SDF operates out of the borders of the planet.

Notable PC's: None yet,

Intent: To not only create a homeplant for the Xanthos, since the the few planets in the area of space I would like them to be already have one species or another living on them and there are no recorded planets in the location of I-20. This keeps the planet close to a major trade route allowing them to stay knowing what is going on but far enough away that most spacers would have never heard of the planet. To also lay the foundation of a planet were I hope to create a Indie faction based around the idea of a Progressive Enclave on the planet that works as a Doctor's without Borders ideology. Using the advanced medical knowledge of the People of the planet to assist those in nearby planets and the galaxy at large as they can.

Xanathar

Xanathar is one of the largest cities on the planet and home to the planets largest university. Built on the second continent this large city is built to sit well above the tree line of the dense forest below. The density and rapid growth of this part of the continent has made the need to build up and over instead of in the midst of. The flora here grows at an incredible speed that is hard to overcome without much planning and expense since the forest can reclaim taken land in what would be considered almost no time at all. To stop this and to reduce the amount of forest that has to be kept at bay the designer's of the City State built it upon very large, tall, and strong pillars. Then upon those pillars they build the quarters of the City. Each of the cities 5 quarters have landing for larger ships as well as plenty of smaller ships. Each quarter is connected by both light bridges and normal connection tubes. Few outsiders get to visit here, but those that do are always taken aback by the sheer scope of the large City State. The center quarter houses the seat of government as well as most of the lodging and landing area, it is just generally called the center since it sits at the center of the quarters and is ringed by the other ones. The next one is called the School Quarter since it is taken up mostly by the university located there and the vast amount dorms, labs and other support structures need to run it. Next is the Home quarter, here the vast majority of residents have their residences. The Visitor's quarter is as its name sake is the location of most of the lodging for visiting guests to the city state as well as a few businesses that don't originate from the City or the planet. The last is the Business quarter, home to most of business that are native to the city as well as many of UCOG's laboratories studding the explosive plant growth of this part of the continent.

Xan

Xan is the capitol of the world and is where the original Arkanian's landed when they came to this planet. This has since grown to be the single largest city and City State on the planet. Xan is one of the few places that most offworlders will tend to land as UCOGs offices and off world support buildings are located here. It houses the single largest starport on the Planet and is home to a few shipwrights who specialize in repair of most classes of ships that can land at the facility. While not capable of making their own ships, the shipwrights here are known to be some of the best when it comes to getting incredibly expensive modifications. Most of the artisans are known best for installing custom engraving on both the outside and inside on almost any sort of precious metal known. The costs of these ships are hard to understand and the ships rarely come with the owner but are sent and guarded by there by small cadres of SDF commandos until the ship can be sent to the offworld and picked up by its owner. However, as time goes on its getting more common to see offworlders here. The two largest buildings are the UCOG tower's which house the main offices of UCOG and living space for the enclave and city state representatives that conference at the pyramid below in the hall of Confederacy. Here the representatives of the enclaves and City States can debate and decide the direction of UCOG and the species as a whole.

Russ'o Cannons

While most of the major city states at some point had similar batteries of anti orbital Ion and Turbolaser batteries, most were built to defend the northern most continent and research enclave Russ'o. Here in the honeycombed tunnels under the tundra most of the more dangerous research. Also here many of the gene's created for outsider use are stored should they be needed again or should something happen to any of the research that is considered important. The power plant that powers the guns is also located in the main facility, however the guns are getting old and have not been fired in ages. There has been talk of dismantling the things to use the parts for other things or to dismantle and find a buyer off world. For now however the guns remain standing guard of the secretive complex at the extreme north.

Hestiphos

Hestiphos is the largest enclave and is large enough to be a city state should it they ever wanted to go that way. The massive pyramids sit atop the shoring desert sands the only real above ground structures, they house the landing pads of the complex while the rest are built deep under the sand on and in the bed rock to protect the city from the strong sand storms and unrelenting heat of the desert. Hestiphos is the first placce that they discovered the Hesti plant. The plant was given the name of the enclave and has since been found in most of the dark caves around the desert and have been found even in caverns under the large fresh water lakes. The most potent breed still comes from Hestiphos and only the artisans of Hestiphos can teach the others how to turn the plants fibers into the unique fibermesh that can be made from it. The armor made from it is not widely known but worth just as much as the salve that can be made from the same plant. Those that know of it seek it out hoping they will be lucky enough to get a set made of it.

The final note is Hestiphos is also the location of the temple that trains the few force sensitive Xantho go to train in the arts of healing. While few outside of those that go there to train know what goes on temple when the train, but when the exit they tend to be strong healers. Both able to use the Force and their understanding of science they specialized in. Most don't stay in Hestiphos, but go on to the other enclaves and cities to assist in healing and research. Few get to leave Xanith, but those that do tend to at least make a name for themselves.

I don't understand the point of creating a world if there are not any active PCs created.

Well, he's got a planet pending with a native species that's also pending. Safe to say he's waiting on approval before actually using either.

Yes, like bee said. I would hate to take the time to make a character before the species profile even gets approved. Seems like a waste of time to make something then not even be able to use it for one reason or another.

If the entire intent for the creation of this planet is simply for a homeworld for a fanon species (one that has yet to be approved and does not even have any PCs yet), I would recommend using a stub planet or one of the other countless planets in the Expanded Universe to serve as the homeworld to the species Xantho.

I updated the intent since I was thinking of doing a Indie of the species as well as a RP should it get approved for use.

What sort of Indie? What is your plans for the planet? The application is lacking justification for why an entirely new planet in a universe of pre-existing planets must be created. Requiring a homeworld is not a valid justification, nor is the promise of an upcoming Indie faction. My recommendation stands: expand/use a stub planet.
