"My old master once asked me, 'Xia, what would you be willing to sacrifice for the innocent?' Now, of course, I told her that I would do anything. What I was thinking was, why should one as powerful as myself risk my life for one so much lesser? I didn't have a good answer either."

<APPEARANCE>

Xia has always been described as an attractive, diminutive girl with long, orange-red hair and steel colored eyes.
Her face has attractive features, a strong jaw, button nose and a disarming smile all framed by naturally wavy, auburn hair that gives her fierce, regal appearance. Her body could be described as an hourglass shape with hips at an attractive width and a slightly larger than average bust.
Xia stands at a low 5' 6" and weighs a low 127 pounds, though her size shouldn't be used to judge her ability. Despite her tiny size, Altan has a layer of wiry muscle across her entire frame that leaves her lithe but strong.

Attributes
Throughout her early life, Xia studied under a Jedi of the Order. While she never took too strongly to their teachings of peace and emotional absence, the young Xia excelled in their negotiation and manipulation skills. As well as this, she learned the calculated and finesse governed second form of lightsaber combat, adding a shoto to the form to allow for more aggression. After her fall to the dark side during the great betrayal, The Deceiver turned to dominating the wills of those that were weaker than she through her force powers. As a whole, Xia is an adept manipulator, using her force powers, naturally attractive appearance to worm her way into the minds of others.
Due to her small size and the lack of strength that accompanies Makashi along with her only average bladework, Xia struggles greatly against opponents that use strength based forms. While The Deceiver does have the patience to secure a place among her enemies, Altan is vain in the extreme upon victory and has formed the bad habit of relishing in victories and boasting above disabled foes. Due to her ability to convince others to complete related tasks for her, Xia has complete ineptitude when it comes to handling anything more than the most base of electronics.

Skills
Telekinesis - The ability to push/pull, a basic of the Force User, but Xiadoes it with a degree of style and integrates it very well into her combat. She has been known to disengage blaster packs and turn off light sabers, particularly after her time in Slooga the Hutt's barge as a prisoner. Beyond that, there is a question of brute strength; Xia struggles with lifting objects larger than a man.

Jedi Reflexes - All Jedi have this, but hers are a cut above the usual.

Lightsaber Combat: Altan is accomplished in Form II: Makashi. Most Form II practitioners are a little taller, a little more lithe, but Xia infuses a certain grace to her form; it is disconcerting to face her in a fight for the first time, because she is not tall, but this works to her advantage due to the mobility that it gives her. She is far more elusive than the usual Form II practitioner, using the subtle dodges and weaves of Form II, but still sticks to the fundamentals – she likes to say that she prefers to measure twice and cut once with wide, powerful strikes, waiting for the opening and then bringing down the attack into it, using her entire body in the movements. She has a familiarity with the other forms, though she devoted the most study, outside of Form V, to Forms VI and III. She acquired Form VI from her own master and worked to refine it, and she was drilled in Form III in the Academy as part of her basic training.
Disable Droids - Learned on Nar Shaddaa, this is a sort of jolt of force power intended to disable droids, though it is possible, she dared not explore it, that such a thing could be used against people if altered somewhat. Right now, she's able to stun a droid temporarily.
Climber and jumper - Jedi are usually in good physical form, but Xia took her conditioning even more seriously. Xia enjoys the challenge of climbing, including variations such as EVA movement on the hull of a ship or other challenging maneuvers. She is also passing familiar with dive equipment and parawing gliders.

Personality
As a padawan in the Jedi Order, Xia was prideful and vain, gloating when she bested her fellow padawans, taking any chance to describe her skill in the Force and with the blade. As she aged and her moral compass drifted further askew, Xia learned to hide her true nature, putting on a pleasant and kind persona to ease the path into using others. When she reached adulthood and earned her rank as a Knight, Xia took her new found freedom and ran with it, travelling to worlds where the war was thickest so that she could experiment with her Force powers upon civilians that she came across.

With her age and the ever growing number of innocent lives she had taken, the pride and vanity grew into a cold and domineering personality. Altan took to using any means necessary to get what she wanted; seduction, interrogation, black mail and most cruelly, Force domination. While she still maintains her kind exterior, the front is merely a sheathe for the poisoned fangs that lie within.

Biography
Born on Pleixs, Xia was detected at an early age and brought to the Jedi Academy on Tython. Her powerful connection to the force was noted, but so too were her problems with some of the training; she was entirely too headstrong and required extra disciplining and lessons to try and bring her around; her instincts had to be curbed, and her raw strength tempered. Despite this, she was chosen to be a Padawan to Master Brevil Tal'rey, a Bothan Consular, perhaps to help her develop her potential in a balanced fashion; she was powerful, but impulsive.

Little during her time as Padawan was as clear and simple as it seemed due to Master Tal'rey seeming to take on difficult and murky assignments involving the fringe. Investigations of smuggling and slaving rings, political corruption and other things that took them into situations where force alone would fail or where the use of force would mark the failure of the entire mission, where knowing when and how to fight, if at all, was necessary. Xia learned hard lessons and was wrong often before she learned to use the force and her charm to help her see through things and cut to the heart of matters. It also took much patience on Master Tal'rey's part to steer the young woman away from the lightsaber first. While Altan would never be a consular, she was trained in ways that made her a more rounded out fighter.

When it finally appeared that she'd mastered her feelings, to the satisfaction of her Master and the Council, she was given leave to attempt the trials and become a Jedi Knight. While she passed the trial of skill easily with a certain feral elegance to her movements, the trial of Courage presented a more difficult problem -- she was assigned to infiltrate the Hutt cartels as a dancing girl in order to locate and extract their agent, Marto Zamiss, out of Nar Shadaa in an intricate operation that required her to fundamentally develop her own contacts and assets in order to perform the mission. Moreso than demonstrate her ability to fight in single combat, her trial of courage seemed to require more in the way of patience, and staying calm even during the hard part -- the waiting.

As it turned out, her trial of the flesh came out of her own foolhardiness. She was captured by Slooga the Hutt, who tortured her for information on the escaped Zamiss aboard his own yacht over Nal Hutta; she still carries the scars of the heated needles that were inserted under her fingernails. The escape required her to work out the flaws in the containment system in her cell; she managed to expose wiring by focusing her telekinetic ability to the finest sort of details, what she likes to jokingly call 'force spanner,' and use it against the barrier that kept her cell closed. From there, she then managed to use the air duct systems to her advantage in retrieving her equipment, which she used to disable the ship's weapon systems. Fighting her way toward the escape pod system, she managed to sent a distress beacon and go into a state of suspended animation, waiting for a Jedi rescue.

When the nature of the imprisonment and escape became obvious, the Council decided that the requirements of the Trial of Insight and the Trial of Flesh were satisfied, but there remained the trial of Spirit, where she nearly failed; she does not discuss much of it; she awoke from it sweating and gritting her teeth, obviously rattled by what she saw.

For about a year and a half as a Knight, she spent time working on the combat fronts, particularly the mid rim where people could easily go missing; while she got into a few jams with bounty hunters and smugglers, she didn't get harrowed the way she had in her trials -- she'd learned to be more circumspect, but she generally worked alone, cultivating a network of informants and allies.

When the masters of Tyhton made the call and others were flocking to the ranks of the Jedi, she held out, influenced by her recent discoveries in the Force. Nonetheless, others on the council sent her, deeming her loyal to them as well as considering her experience in less than ideal situations. Spying on and killing fellow Jedi was not precisely a dangerous task in the middle of a violent battlefield, though others had an inkling of what Xia was about and why she was there.

Her attitudes were shaken considerably when she landed on Tython with the others. Prompted by the visions of the genocide on that planet at the hands of some dark figure, a vision that showed all Jedi there sharing death when the stone was activated. She found that her own previous faith in the stance of her stealth was shaken, her own inner conflict intensified by what she experienced in that vision. Sticking with the Council's own mandate that she continue to fight, she stayed with the other Jedi as the plans were made for war, but found herself more torn than ever, particularly as she was surrounded with people who had more faith in the decision to go to war, less hesitancy. Perhaps influenced by what she has seen first hand of the devastation of the war, from places like her home world, Xia disobeyed her orders when she realized that her life was more important to her.

Commandeering a ship left at the supply depot, Xia left the world as quickly as possible. She watched the crystal fire from the atmosphere in awe, its dark energy making the hairs on her skin stand at end and her heart to start thundering away.

The power washed over her like a a great wave over the shores. In that moment, her hunger for power was born.

Leaving the Jedi Order entirely, Xia sought out the surviving Exiles and their teachings. She needed to know more about the dark side, she craved the power that she felt erupt from the crystal. After a short time, she found a sect known as the Inquisitors. The Inquisitors showed her their ways of seduction and manipulation, how to dominate the mind of those weaker than her, the way to command the masses as one with the Force was made to do. After succeeding in her training, Xia descended upon the galaxy with a fervent hunger for blood and power.

Gear
Jedi Robes; Smooth tan cloth lying over a white tunic. A basic garment with a brown robe to cover it.

Curved-hilt lightsaber; A lightsaber specifically designed with a curved hilt to make use easier for those that practice Form II, Makashi. The hilt is made from darkened steel and contains a purple crystal that emits a steady and bright blade.

The Jedi abolished the rank of Padawan several years before she was born. During this time a Jedi would be trained as a youngling until around the age of 13-14 usually and then promoted directly to Jedi Knight. There would not have been traditional Jedi trails. Tython also destroyed fairly early on during the Hundred Years of Darkness, so you will just need to pick another Jedi Temple. Shouldn't be too difficult to make changes. I would recommend reading up on the Jedi Write-up (LINK).

Let me know when the changes are made or if you have any questions.
