Which entails... what, exactly?
It's something that's bugged me for years. How exactly does expellation from the Order work? I mean work in the sense of "how does a super-being with super-powers get expelled from the Order and not be expected to turn into an evil douchebag"?
Something tells me that if a Jedi commits a crime serious enough to be booted from the Order, but it isn't an actual "crime" crime like murder or something, putting the offender in jail or executing them isn't going to fly. So what do they do, just release the guy into Galaxy? "Now that we've trained you to be a super-human asskicker, go wander the Galaxy without our instruction, guidance or monitoring presence. And promise that you won't like turn to the Dark Side or use your powers for evil shit and stuff".
I mean, seriously. If Anakin had decided to call Obi-Wan's bluff and go after Padme, would the Jedi really have just kicked the demonstrably mentally unstable Force-Jesus-Chosen-One to the curb? That doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster?
It would be like the Justice League kicking Superman out because they caught him ****ing a cantaloupe in the basement. On the one hand, rules are rules and the JLA doesn't look kindly on the molestation of fruits. On the other hand... it's Superman.
Anyway, was curious to know if there's any canon on this? Whether it be EU or a statement from Word of God.
