NAME: Zev Vebril Seyyak
FACTION: Order of the Jedi
RANK: Padawan
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 19
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 5’10”
WEIGHT: 150 lbs.
EYES: Brown
HAIR: Black
SKIN: Caucasian
CREDITS: 1,000
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Scars on left shoulder, leading into cybernetic prosthetic limb
DOMINATE HAND: Ambidextrous, Prefers Right
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTH: Above average strength, superhuman strength in cybernetic limb.
DEXTERITY: Very dexterous, developed by his Free-Running talent.
CONSTITUTION: Able to handle great damage, but not necessarily immune to it.
INTELLIGENCE: Smart, but not very educated in most subjects, but quite intuitive.
WISDOM: Somewhat wise, he never overestimates his own abilities, and rarely underestimates those of others.
CHARISMA: High. He has a strange effect on most people that make it hard for them to dislike him once they get to know each other.

FORCE POWERS:
Force Sense
Force Sight
Telekinesis

SKILLS:
• Free-Running - (See Parkour – Called “Free-Running” due to lack of French Language in the Star Wars universe.) Moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body. It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment—from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls—and can be practiced in both rural and urban areas.
• Close Quarters Combat -
o Bare-Hand Form – Weaponless combat. Essentially the same as boxing. Zev uses this mainly as a training tool to increase his reaction speed and warm himself up, although he may use it in combat if he doesn’t want to use lethal force.
o Katar Form – A katar-style blade concealed within Zevs’ cybernetic limb is used in this style. The attacks consists of long, sweeping slashes and quick thrusts. Excellent for taking opponents by surprise.
o Knife Form – Using the knife he keeps tucked into his belt, Zev wields the blade in his right hand and enters into high-speed, close quarters combat with an (usually single) foe. Can involve quick slashes and thrusts, lethal stealth-based attacks, or vicious counter attacks.
o Grappling Form – Can be used with or without a weapon, and is based on using an enemies physiology against them. Consists of joint locks, nerve attacks, and otherwise immobilizing an opponent.
o Acrobatic Form – A more aesthetically pleasing fighting style, this form involves kicks, strikes, and acrobatics. (Think Kung Fu or Tae Kwon Do)
• Piloting – A fairly competent pilot, Zev rarely uses many acrobatic maneuvers, instead preferring to simply get from Point A to Point B. He has little practice, however, as he doesn’t own a personal ship. He’s only ever helped out while assisting another pilot.
• Pickpocketing – A skill that Zev had to learn to survive. The name says it all: He reaches into someone’s pocket (bag, storage space on their person) and takes an object of value without being detected.
• Anti-Security – Zev is quite talented with breaking into secure files on computers or areas. His tools include blunt objects, a code-breaking device, and lockpicks.
• Language Translation – Thanks to several implants and a device installed on his cybernetic limb, Zev is able to understand and communicate in several languages.

LIGHTSABER/SWORD FORMS:
None, at the moment.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Zev is absolutely sure of his abilities, as he has gained them through hard work and struggle. He was given very little in his life, and he’s had to fight to survive. However, he has little experience with many situations, as he’s only ever had to fight single opponents or small groups of them. He has no experience fighting well-trained individuals (such as Jedi, etc.), but he’s quite skilled himself.

GEAR:
• Cybernetic Prosthetic Limb – An enhanced replacement for a lost left arm. Capable of surpassing human limitations in strength, durability, and dexterity. Made of a very tough, very dense material. Somewhat resistant to lightsaber damage.
• Combat Knife – A simple but deadly weapon, used for close-quarters combat. (Image)

SHIP:
N/A

PETS:
N/A

PERSONALITY:
Zev is generally quiet, unless prompted to speak. Since he grew up poor, he had to learn to fend for himself. This results in somewhat of a reclusive nature, although he does sometimes crave companionship. He is currently the type of person who would “shoot first.” Zev grew up never knowing family, since he was an orphan, and ‘adopted’ by a mercenary on his home planet of Coruscant. Since he was what most would call a criminal until very recently, Zev prefers not to divulge personal information about himself, and only does so when details are absolutely necessary or demanded by a superior. This rarely happens, however, so his withdrawn nature has been nurtured.

After losing his left arm, Zev has a much higher pain tolerance than most. He rarely shows emotions, leading some to believe that he has none at all. He does feel emotion, but he prefers to keep them to himself. After discovering his sensitivity to the Force, he has attempted to become more empathetic, and it seems to be working. He has a kinder, softer side, and it appears to be growing. He wants to be a Jedi, but he’s not sure if they will accept him, considering his history.

HISTORY:
Although it would never be revealed to him, Zev Vebril Seyyak was born to a Mandalorian mother and an outcast Jedi father. He would never know, because he was abandoned shortly after he was born. First by his father, who simply left, and then by his mother, who was killed a few months after his birth. When he was old enough, he learned to walk on his own. The same thing went for speech. He learned his name from an ornamental necklace that had been around his neck since birth. Zev essentially raised himself, and he did a pretty good job of it.

By the time he was nine, Zev realized the need to fight, steal, and defend himself in order to survive. So, he taught himself the basics, watching cantina fights and spying on muggings for lessons. When he was ten, he met an aging mercenary named Krave, who taught him the more advanced points of hand-to-hand combat. For several years, the two lived and worked together, Zev running errands and doing chores, while the man provided shelter and fighting lessons. Zev was never spared pain due to his age, which he would later come to appreciate. He soon became confident in his abilities, and Krave sent him out to test his abilities, setting him up with an assassination contract at the tender young age of fifteen.

Zev performed exceptionally. Although the mark got away, and Krave was forced to hunt him down, Zev was almost able to kill the man with his bare hands. He only escaped when Zev was distracted by his security, who decided to investigate the sounds from within his office.

Good first profile. You might want to tone down his skills a little. He seems a little too powerful. Still, good profile

Clarification: I just put up a laundry list of the various ways Zev is capable of fighting, not the styles he has mastered. It's essentially a list of things he can fight with. Like for myself, these would be my skills:
  • Jiujitsu - A fighting style from Japan that focuses on groud-fighting/grapling. Makes use of both strikes and joint locks.
  • Crazy Teenager Driving - A form of driving that only bears similarity to normal driving in that both involve being in a car, steering with the wheel, and pressing the gas pedal. Terrifying to behold.
  • Knife fighting - Involves holding a knife and poking enemies with it.
  • Sledgehammer fighting - Involves beating things with a sledgehammer.
  • Hibernation - Sleeping for extended periods of time.
See, I'm not an expert on any of my skills, but I still know 'em. I'll still tone down the profile, if you think it's a good idea, but it might take me a while. (Gotta come up with a way to 'tone down' the skills... :P))

Yes, Zev is listed as knowing a "Grappling Form." Jiujitsu is the name of the fighting style that I (the author) know, given in an example.
Here's the remainder of his history (cut off in the 1st post).

The excerpt from his diary has more detail...

Entry

Krave set me up with a job last night. He told me over dinner. I’m supposed to take out some guy called Merl. Some Rodian card player who didn’t pay off his debts in a timely fashion, I dunno... Whatever the reason, someone wants him dead, and Krave wants me to get my hands dirty. I’m not sure I’ll be able to kill him, but if Krave is right (and he has been so far), then that should come naturally.

Entry

Blasted security… They always show up at the most inopportune moments… I was just about to finish Merl off when they barged in and started shooting. In hindsight, I’m actually surprised they didn’t hit him themselves.

So there I was, walking up to the guy, knife hidden in my sleeve, when he gets up and heads to a back room. By the looks of the big Trandoshan guard by the door, I wasn’t allowed inside. That kind of irritated me, but I wasn’t in the mood to test my skills on the big lizard. So, I improvised. There were plenty of windows in the place, and several access points through which I could get outside. The closest one was through some maintenance hall, so I took that, and found myself outside.

Unfortunately, the view from outside wasn’t very helpful. The windows were all blacked out to outside view. Smart, but I didn’t find it all that helpful for my needs. But oddly, at the moment, I didn’t feel that shaken. I just took it in stride, and kept on walking the maintenance scaffolding.

I eventually came to a window, and my gut told me that it was the one I needed. I tried to keep going and check out the rest, but for whatever reason, my feet wouldn’t let me. Krave did a good job. I crouched down and picked up a toolbox from the scaffolding, stood up again, swung the toolbox around, and let it fly at the window. It must have been pretty heavy, since the window practically exploded on contact. Needless to say, I had the attention of Merl, who was the only one in the room.

I jumped into the room and rolled to my feet, coming up with my knife below Merls’… Mouth… Trunk… Thing… He seemed surprised, but I wasn’t ever great at reading those big, all-black eyes. I must have been visibly confused, since he swung around in his chair, scattering credits and slips of paper as he threw his hands out. He caught me off guard and sent my knife flying across the room, where it landed with a dull thump on the carpet.

I quickly grabbed Merl by his… Face… Tube… and pulled him out of his chair, throwing him to the ground roughly. I said something about making it harder on himself, and I proceeded to beat the crap out of him. He made some weird noises, which I took to be a Rodians’ way of expressing pain, and curled up into a fetal position under my assault. Krave was right, it was easier than one would think.

I had nearly pulped his face into the carpet when the door hissed open, and some big, angry guys walked in. The sound of blasters being drawn told me it was time to cut short my beating and get out. So, with one last farewell kick to the head, I left Merl bleeding on the floor, jumped to recover my knife, and then ran for the window, zigzagging to avoid the hail of blaster fire that followed me.

I barely rolled out of the line of fire in time after landing on the scaffolding. I think they might have taken out a speeder, but I wasn’t really focused on that. I was angrier about being interrupted, and thinking about what Krave would say when I got back. And it wasn’t pretty… I think I’ll be nursing his punishment bruises for another week, at least.

After his failed assassination attempt, Zev was made to work even harder for Krave, until he was deemed ready for actual work. A few days before his sixteenth birthday, Zev was repairing the engine on Kraves’ ship, when a power surge went through it, started the motor, and tore his left arm clean off. He nearly died before Krave came by to check on the sound, and he blacked out while the man carried him to a hospital.

After several hours of painful surgery, Zev was fitted with a simple prosthetic, which could do little more than move and perform some basic finger functions. Zev asked Krave if he could get anything better than the basic replacement model, and Krave had told him that it would take a while, but he might be able to scrape together some funds for an upgrade.

Another year later, Zev was fitted with his new enhanced cybernetic prosthetic. It felt much better than the last one, and it had several… Interesting customizations… Most noticeable to Zev immediately was the katar-style blade that was installed. Again, his journal contains more information.

Entry

It’s about damn time! I finally got enough funds for an upgrade to this blasted prosthetic of mine. It took almost a year to get the creds together, but I finally have enough! I’m thinking about talking to Kraves usual mechanic for the Jagged Can, maybe getting some “surprises” installed… Like a repulsor field. Or a cannon. Krave said he’d take me to get my replacement in another day or two, as soon as the pit droids finish fixing up the Jagged Cans’ engine. He said that it took longer to do it by droid, but they didn’t cost as much when they had their limbs ripped off.

Entry

Beautiful… Shiny, lethal, beautiful perfection… That’s the only way I can describe my newest installation. It fits me like a glove, only better. It feels natural, like I’ve had it my entire life.

Kraves’ mechanic was able to hook me up with some great customizations. There’s a nifty blade that’s installed. It slides out of the wrist area and covers the hand. It’s nearly a foot out when it’s fully extended, which says a lot for the design. I can feel it there, like a natural appendage. I don’t think Cathar feel this good about their claws… Oh, it’s a pretty piece of technology…

A few months after his new limb was attached, Zev was separated from Krave. The man found work offworld, and left Zev behind with nothing but a few credits and some supplies. Since he’d been trained to be hard, Zev wasn’t too hurt by Kraves’ disappearance, but it still bothered him. He’d gotten used to being part of a team, and he didn’t enjoy the prospect of getting by without any guidance after that. However, he would do just that, and he would do it quite well.

On his nineteenth birthday, Zev came down with some illness and, since he could afford a doctors visit at the time, he went to have himself checked out. After a quick checkup, the doctor told him that he should drop by the Jedi place. When Zev asked why, the doctor said something about an abnormality in his blood, but said nothing more. Irritated that he was not only sick, but he had been told to get a second opinion from the Jedi, Zev left the doctors’ office quickly, pausing to steal some medpacs on his way. He decided he would drop by and visit once his illness subsided.
