Subject Profile

Narrative Overview

Vedic Cael was a Dark Jedi, estranged by the conservative teachings of his father and enthralled by both the criminal underworld of the galaxy, and the perversive Dark Side of the Force. Being an adept of the Force, but lacking any proper training by the higher authority of the Jedi, Vedic was a dangerous specimen. Some stories held that he killed his own father after becoming disillusioned with his view of the galaxy and the Force itself; but Vedic would contend that this was not the case.

After the death of his father, Isaac, sometime just prior to the outbreak of the Hutt War, Vedic abandoned his impoverished mother in the slums of Nar Shaddaa, and struck out on his own. He established a reputation as a murderer-for-hire, a small-time pilferer and brigand in the service of small-scale Hutt benefactors and agents. He showed no morals or reservations about the work he did, desiring only the credits and renown necessary to find work and a stable living - at least, a living as stable as could be for a being such as him.

He was an avid adventurer and student of the Force, his great aim being only to further his own life and the pursuit of power. In short, he was mad for anything that could make him a more powerful Force adept, but his disdain for service and instruction made him a poor candidate for recruitment for any kind of Dark Side Cult. He was a mercenary with heightened Force powers - and, quite possibly, a very dangerous anomaly in the spiritual 'balance' of the galaxy.

Vedic's eyes seemed unnaturally bright, a trait he garnered from his mother's obscure side of the family. Some even suggested that they 'glowed in the dark' rather faintly; he took little notice of the comments. Nevertheless, they are a means of identifying him whenever he may not be easily discerned in a crowd.

Equipment

After being captured and detained on Station XV-37, Vedic lost his original suit, and was forced to scrounge out some amount of clothing in the station's warehouse. Thankfully, he found a wealth of equipment and clothing, and found a suit that not only matched his tastes and personality, but his impending need for better protective wear.

The result was a plated cuirass and matching set of boots and greaves, under which he wore a rather valuable powered muscle suit that granted him a needed boost in physical strength. He retained the same utility belt, with the same hook for his father's lightsaber, and a newly-fashioned holster for his Hellas Rae magnum. A heavy black cloak completed the outfit.

Vedic would later add a second and third lightsaber hook to his belt, the second being for the cyborg's lightsaber he captured from Salazar. His cuirass was scarred in a contest against Salazar on Atzerri, as the cyborg-ninja managed to slash Vedic across the right side. The gaping cleave in his armor was left unrepaired for an extended period afterward.

Vedic's primary weapon was the Force, but he retained more fundamental means of combat, as well. In particular, he took great care of his father's lightsaber, a blue-bladed Arbiter model that was popular among younger Jedi during the days of the Alsakan Occupation. He was not 'above' using rudimentary weapons, such as slugthrowers or the quickly-proliferating blaster pistol, to meet an end. As such, he jumped at the chance to acquire a 'mighty Lion of a weapon' from the bounty hunter, Argas Vaen - the vintage Heretic Hellas Rae magnum. Upon retrieving the slugthrower, Vedic began to incorporate the pistol into his style of combat more frequently.

Starship: After dealing with the Dark Father's cult in Y'toub, Vedic killed his captors onboard the Sprite-17 shuttle he'd been ferried to the station upon, and took the ship for his own. It featured a cloaking device that made the vessel invisible to conventional sensor arrays - coupled with a vague black paint job, this made the ship incredibly hard to detect by visual or electronic scans. It was a bi-winged craft, with the cockpit set back within the hull to avoid exposing the piloting area. It featured no weapons, relying on speed and stealth to see it to its destinations.

Considering the abilities of the Force-adept onboard, the ship likely didn't need any.

Capabilities: Much like his father, Vedic possessed an uncanny knack for the lightsaber and telekinetic applications of the Force. He was highly dextrous, inheriting his father's ability for impressive physical feats, further augmented by his skill in the Force. After the affairs of the Dark Father's cult in Y'toub, Vedic discovered he had a taste for the application of one of the most twisted manifestations of darkside energy: Force Lightning.

His affinity for Force Bonds was noticed by his father, as Vedic became more and more powerful merely by being in his presence, while Isaac became drained. This innate talent caused Vedic to become stronger as he remained in proximity to individuals sensitive to the Force. It usually took some time for the bond to form, depending on the victim's natural resistance and willpower. Vedic could form bonds with other entities in hours, or days, depending on their mental fortitude. The longer a particular battle ensued between Vedic and another Force sensitive, the stronger Vedic would likely become.

Vedic had no full formal training in any single form, making his swordsmanship a maverick style incorporating the athletics and acrobatics of Ataru, which lent itself well to his innate dexterity and agility, and the deft strikes and posturing of Makashi. He tended to add an extra 'spin' to aerial dynamics, and had a tendency to sometimes flourish and flaunt more often than some would have considered wise during combat. Though he was wary of his general inexperience in the field of lightsaber combat, Vedic fared well against Dariim during their own bout - handicapped by the wizened Master's condition after having endured a week under siege.

Vedic developed a tendency to study his opponents during proximal combat, interpreting their styles and maneuvers and emulating or expanding on them in order to make himself a more formidable, versatile combatant. This talent allowed him to survive various confrontations with more experienced melee fighters.

As the first year of the Hutt War progressed to its later days, Vedic continued to grow more and more powerful in the Force. His limited adventures in Y'toub were expanded when he gained the Sprite-17, which he used to travel far across the galaxy. He sought locations of some import to the Jedi and their darker counterparts, seeking forever to expand his understanding of the Force and its various applications. One of his motives was to become powerful enough to finally challenge a Jedi of some repute - though he had little knowledge of the Bogan, and, thus, little desire to come in conflict with them.

Vedic's time spent as a wanderer after his last adventures in Y'toub made him an even more powerful Force Adept, but they did little for his prowess with a lightsaber. His aptitude and control of his Lightning increased, and he delved further into other dark facets of his power - learning how to bolster his own strength, speed, and resilience through the Force. He learned a great deal about methods used to null pain in the heat of battle (useful in his third fight with the cyborg in the Vault), as well as ways to manipulate the minds of others.

Personality: Cold, ruthless, and egomaniacal, Vedic was perhaps best described as being spoiled by his affinity to the Force. His power and his limited success as a mercenary fueled his narcissistic attitude. He believed, without a doubt, that he was more capable and more gifted than any other being, simply because he had the power of the Force and the darker facets of its abilities at his command. He had no moral or ethical reservations concerning the nature of the work he would undertake, nor did he display any empathy for other beings.

He was wholly interested only in his own advancement and well-being, and the further enhancement of his powers. He suffered no entanglements to cults or other 'dark-sided' organizations, prefering to work alone, or, if need-be, to manipulate others toward his bidding. He was also known to have an insatiable sexual appetite, and frequented the red sector of Nar Shaddaa when away from business. As far as he was concerned, anything that fueled his passions fueled his power and livelihood. He was probably best described as a hedonist, by an unsung motto which he lived by: 'If it feels good, do it.'

The History of Vedic Cael

Pre-Hutt War

Vedic was born on Abregado-rae shortly after the resolution of the Alsakan Crisis. His father, Isaac, had been a Jedi Padawan under Dariim Varis, and, briefly, Tian Velvar. Isaac's training was never completed, as he became disillusioned with the teachings of the Jedi, and left on his own to form his own interpretation of the Force. In short order, Isaac met Lydia Wessex, and the two had a romantic relationship that culminated in the birth of Vedic.

Isaac trained Vedic from an early age, eager to instill his own virtues of the Force and his view of the galaxy in a younger, promising Force-sensitive. Vedic, however, soon proved more than ordinary - he developed quickly under his father's guidance, and displayed an unsettling hunger for knowledge and control of his inborn energy. He was also hard to discipline and tutor, as his mother, Lydia, often exposed him to the seedy elements of the Hutt underworld, her environment of work and pleasure.

Training was difficult enough, and Lydia's criminal involvement made it no easier. Still, Vedic displayed remarkable progress. His powers developed strongly year by year, and he was becoming a powerful adept at a tender age. Isaac was proud, but wary, of his son's apparent abilities. The training proceeded in the wilderness of the smuggler-world, with the aggressive son dogging his father in the process of sparring - eventually injuring the older Isaac with a blow to the head during a round involving a pair of bokuto.

Isaac was overjoyed by his son's efficiency and aptitude with blades, but he became worried by symptoms of weakness that he began to display. He was also severely troubled by his son's fascination with aggressive, and even brutal, applications of Force energy. He was quickly understanding that his son was beginning to see him as more of a tool and measuring device than any kind of father and companion.

As a result, Isaac intensified Vedic's training regimens. They worked harder and longer, and moved to the more populated world of Nar Shaddaa. Still, Vedic only excelled, and Isaac only became weaker. He began to suspect some kind of illness, and halted their training to seek medical attention on the Smuggler's Moon. Vedic was indifferent, and ventured off into the lawless planet on his own. It did not take long for Isaac to conjure up his old studies from his days in the Order, and to discover that his son had been unconsciously leeching his strength through a Force Bond.

The father confronted the son, and Vedic was unmoved by his father's words. He was lost, a shell of a being with the Force at its command, in his father's eyes. Isaac determined that his son was a danger to those around him - especially the family Isaac wished to create with the wayward Wessex. To his dismay, however, Isaac rapidly lost consciousness and strength in the presence of his son. Eventually, the elder Cael was placed into an intensive care unit in the business sector. After several days lingering on the threshold of death, his son made a final visit, and his father passed away in his presence.

The history of Vedic Cael was short, and sweet, to the point of his father's death. He soon struck out on his own, into the vast degradation of Nar Shaddaa, leaving his mother to her devices in poverty and foul-play. He had garnered all he needed from his father, and had, by the articles of the Jedi teachings, fallen into the sway of the Dark Side. He pursued wealth, power, and pleasure - and made no reservations as to how he would obtain them.

The Life on Nar Shaddaa

Vedic began his career as a criminal and renegade during the Hutt War, performing various small activities for Hutt benefactors, agents, and recruiters. Work of a murderous nature led to his being labeled a mercenary killer-for-hire, or a freelance headhunter, more than a Hutt operative. He maintained no official ties to the Hutt hierarchy, but he worked for them whenever the pay fit his needs.

In particular, Vedic craved the challenge of renegade Bounty Hunters and wayward Dark Jedi, but his thirst for the power of other Force-users was ill-served by his work on the Smuggler's Moon. Often, he was contracted to murder political rivals and economic burdens, such as small-time campaigners or renegade slaves. The work was boring to Cael, but he took it willingly. He was intent on garnering enough currency to acquire a starship of his own (or, as he put it, 'to let my wings grow freely once again').

Vedic, therefore, viewed Nar Shaddaa as a cage. There were no Jedi, and there were too few renegades of their kind to grant him any great amount of excitement. He fell easily into the life of hedonistic, unbound pleasure-seeking. His looks and wiles lent themselves well to this field, and when he was not on contract he was often lost to the vices of the Smuggler's Moon.

During one of his nightclub ventures, Vedic met a young woman by the name of Astere. A Twi'lek whom had escaped the Hutt cincture of her kind on Ryloth, Astere was young and vulnerable. She did not know the way of Nar Shaddaa, nor did she find it in herself to give in to the trades of the Hutts in order to make a living. She was, thusly, very poor, wearing rags for clothes and in constant danger.

Vedic perhaps took some pity on the young Twi'lek girl in the club, and offered her a place in his apartment. She accepted, knowing no other way to find comfort and warmth in the unforgiving cold of Nar Shaddaa. Vedic satisfied his lusts in her, and, to his surprise, the young woman became connected to him. She did not leave the next day, and they found themselves traveling together from there onward. He had companionship, however false and hollow it might have been.

It brought some amount of comfort to the rising assassin that he had a confidant at home. Astere was young and beautiful, and his own hunger for attention and prestige were accomplished by having her on his arm. The two frequented nightclubs and hotspots across the Smuggler's Moon, building a reputation as the patrons of Nar Shaddaa's most expensive establishments. Astere attracted the eyes of any man she passed. Vedic attracted the attention of Hutt beneficiaries and contractors of higher class.

Vedic's work became more bearable as he had something to look forward to at whatever complex he chose as his home. Astere never shirked her duties as a lover, and he would never accept the idea of becoming anything other than an assassin. He had developed a respect and taste for the trade, and he had become too reliant on the lifestyle it enabled him to lead. Astere did not know it, but she was living on the work of a murderer for the Hutts. In time, she did not even care.

The arrangement continued for several months. Vedic became more astute, and even more powerful during this time. His relationship with Astere seemed to make him stronger, and the last Cael was oddly hesitant to consider why. Thoughts of his father's training and looming weakness crossed his mind. Vedic did not want to believe that his newfound idol could be corrupted by his touch; but the idea of her being Force Sensitive inspired an even greater interest in the prince of lusts and decay.

Astere became weaker, and more hollow, in the last month of their relationship. Her body failed, her beauty faded. Soon, Vedic did not even bother to look on her form. The young, pure face he had seen and used the first night they had met had become wrinkled and twisted. As Vedic left his apartment the final night, he felt Astere's life finally wane away. He set fire to the apartment, and the fire spread throughout the complex. The rubble of his last constant home served as the grave for his first and only constant companion.

Vedic did not weep. He had simply lost something more that gave him pleasure and power. He cast aside the idea of mourning or lingering on what had occurred. As far as he was concerned, it was just another chapter that he was content to see closed.

He again focused his currency toward the acquisition of a sturdy starship, and to that end took on his most ambitious job yet: to find and eliminate a renegade Jedi in a major mercenary operation on Nar Shaddaa. The payout, by Vedic's estimation, would be more than enough to acquire a dependable vessel and strike out into the galaxy beyond the degradation of the Smuggler's Moon.

The target of the operation was none-other than the weapon-master, Dariim Varis - his father's former master. Vedic served a special role in the operation alongside 'Eldo Folks', and single-handedly unlocked the main entry of the establishment to allow Hutt-affiliated mercenaries inside. Leaving Eldo to make his own way, Vedic led the charge to the second floor.

Cleaving through the ranks of Master Varis' supporters, the murderer soon found himself in their escape route. When Varis himself arrived, with a turncoat Eldo in tow, Vedic pressed the attack. The melee progressed quickly - Dariim desperate to make the contest short in order to preserve what energy he had left after a harsh week of fighting. The elder Jedi gained the upper hand quickly, but Vedic soon shifted the momentum in his favor by applying his anger and Force power.

Dariim began to wear down quickly, Vedic battering his defenses. It required a distraction from 'Eldo' to save Dariim's life - blasting his armor with a heavy magnum. Striking him in the side-plates, Eldo only managed to further enrage the younger warrior he'd just betrayed. Vedic immediately captured the magnum which Vaen had used to attack him, and commenced a short-lived advance toward Eldo himself. He was immediately cut off by Master Varis.

The melee began again, Dariim applying his mastery of the Force. Vedic was temporarily dazed by the Master's maneuver, and the Jedi and his sympathizers used the opportunity to escape in Eldo's freighter. Vedic experienced his first major failure as the wizened master slipped away, but also acquired a new weapon in the encounter.

As Folks sped away, Vedic returned to his apartment in the nearby district. He set about a hunt for information on the mercenary whom had been placed beside him for the Hutt operation. He needed to know what connection Eldo Folks had to the Jedi. His first clue was that the name came up with a dead end, but searches done concerning the freighter's origin led him to other reported sightings and affiliations - under which heading, he saw only one: "Argas Vaen".

Unfortunately for the 'prince of vices', Vaen was long gone from Nar Shaddaa by the time he caught onto the name. Bereft of work and prey, Vedic returned to the nightlife. He was quickly drawn into the newest craze throughout Hutt space - 'Mist', a powerful hallucinogenic drug that was quickly overtaking the club scene. His foray into Mist drugged Vedic into a stupor that would last until he found himself, for the first time, hunted by a higher power.

The Cry of His Power

Vedic soon found himself under fire by a massive bounty hunter, and the chase that ensued toured the two through the underworks of Nar Shaddaa for three days. At the end of the pursuit, with the Mist influence wearing off, Vedic finally did a double-take to confront the attacker and end the hunt. Instead of initiating a round of combat for himself, however, he quickly found himself in a crossfire.

Another hunter had come to pick up the trail, and it was none other than Argas Vaen.

The firefight that ensued ripped the area apart with shrapnel, smoke, and fire - and the maelstrom of Vedic's Force power did not help to calm the situation down. The two hunters were soon overwhelmed by the outlash of various objects called on by the Dark Force adept, and to cut the contest short, the brutish hunter whom had been on the chase tagged Vedic with a tranquilizer dart.

Vedic was shortly incapacitated, and whatever combat ensued, the brute came away with his body in-tow. It did not take long for the hunter to bring him before the initial contractor - a Coruscanti noblewoman with a host of guards at her side. When the hunter demanded payment, he learned that there was none to be had, and was shortly executed. Vedic rose up to challenge them himself, but was quickly nullified.

In the end, he awoke onboard a space station somewhere in the surrounding system - naked, alone, and helpless. After a round of torture by his unknown captors, Vedic was issued an ultimatum: hunt down and destroy a coven of Dark Jedi operating in the Y'toub system, or be burned alive on the torture rack. He had no choice but to comply.

He went to some station somewhere in the Y'toub system and followed the trail of some other intruder who was apparently killing Cultists and their guards as he proceeded. He then got lusty over some ginger chick with red eyes who was wearing far too revealing stuff for Star Wars (but nothing unlike Leia Organa's slave outfit in RotJ). Of course, this was an awful mistake, and Vedic got PWNT by a guy whose title was vaguely inspired by the rough translation of 'Darth Vader' (being 'Dark Father').

Vedic was chained, then the other intruder - who happened to be a cyborg ninja with Jedi powers - dropped a bunch of rocks to thin out the Cultists - who were stupid enough to get high on some Mist before actually following through with killing the guy in front of them who had the ability to drain their Force power while being in their presence.

Vedic, fully restored, burst out of his chains, killed the Dark Father (learning Force Lightning in the process), and then joined the cyborg warrior in slaughtering the mass of remaining cultists (not counting those who ran away, or those already crushed by falling rocks). After they got done with their blood bath, the two warriors dueled each-other. After a prolonged engagement, Vedic pulled another 'Dark Father' moment out of his ass and apparently killed the warrior with Force Lightning (coupled with a throttle into the ceiling in the same move).

Vedic then killed his captors onboard the shuttle and took the shuttle for his own, striking out into the galaxy and deciding to simply not give a damn about Argas Vaen, Dariim Varis, or the Coruscanti noblewoman who had tortured and used him. Therefore, his journey began anew, and he decided to terrorize the more reputable members of the saga's dramatis personae.

What Vedic didn't know was that the cyborg warrior had survived his volley, albeit with some major damage to his vital systems, and escaped the facility before it exploded - meaning that, at a later date, they might duel again.

Shortly after the events of Y'toub, Vedic used the Sprite shuttle to travel to Metellos. After assembling a small group of thieves and scoundrels, Vedic enacted a round of bank heists on the various stratablocks of the planet - using the slums in-between for his bases of operations. The group was never made aware of his true identity, as he never allowed them his name on-site - operating as an agent of his own agenda while they were under the impression that 'Shade' still operated exclusively on Nar Shaddaa.

With the completion of the last heist, Vedic counted himself a few million credits richer than before - and all of his accomplices dead. With no leads to his involvement, Metellos authorities were left with the conclusion that the bank heists had been terrorist attacks - the endeavor was a week long, and exhausted Vedic's supply of plastic explosives from the Coruscanti noble's base in Y'toub.

Upon leaving Metellos, Vedic set his sights on the cyborg-ninja, once more. Hungry to destroy the warrior outright, and add his armor, heart, and even soul to his growing trophy collection, Vedic guided the Sprite-17 back to Y'toub to pick up the trail. He was happy to find that the cyborg warrior had been left wounded and alone on the world, desperately trying to find a doctor or mechanic skilled enough to repair his suit. A dangerous and prolonged series of engagements ensued, tearing the ninja apart, stroking Vedic's ego, and bringing the combatants to a number of locations on the Smugglers' Moon.

Sooner, or later, Vedic was sure his want would be satisfied. But his certainty led to a lax effort once the chase wound to a close. Deep in the lower sectors of one of the planet's industrial zones, Vedic stalked the broken cyborg. Finally, the prey was scooped up and away by the hunter, Argas Vaen. Vedic furiously engaged the duo as they sped away, only to be repelled by a hail of magnum fire. He landed in the slums below, and vowed revenge upon Argas Vaen for the constant disruption of his schemes.

Vedic's chance at revenge did not come shortly afterward, as Vaen and the ninja disappeared into the underworld. Vedic disappeared, as well - into the wider galaxy in pursuit of knowledge and power. The young Dark Force-user did not realize it, but he followed a trail very similar to the one of Jedi Master Alexander Mikelus, taking him to a number of worlds soaked in Force energy and ancient history. He meditated, studied, and learned whatever he could about whatever he found.

The experiences made Vedic marginally stronger, but a lack of any major conflict did little to bolster his fighting prowess. He did not have the patience, nor the true desire, to yoke himself to a 'master' or instructor to learn greater powers or the martial arts, and thus he focused primarily on his growing aptitude for violent applications of Force energy - mostly trained against the rocks and wildlife of the worlds he visited.

After the year spent in obscurity, Vedic returned to Atzerri upon a tip that a dissolved PMC had left a 'Vault' in Talos full of the best equipment that credits could buy. With few leads as to how to find it, or even get inside, Vedic only knew that he would have to travel to the Pits around the blasted PMC headquarters to get into the Vault, itself. He traveled to the Pits, slaughtering warring private army soldiers as he proceeded, and eventually found the way into the Vault - in the process of being unlocked by Argas Vaen and his accomplice, Trian Viktoran.

Viktoran betrayed Vaen after managing to lock Vedic outside the Vault's entrance. Once the 'Prince of Vice and Decay' broke through, Viktoran blasted him back with a shotgun blast (that Vedic narrowly nullified with a Force Barrier) and the standoff was interrupted by a company of Raven commandos. The commandos managed to fight Vedic away from the Vault entry, only to be pinned between the Dark Jedi and a desperate resistance by Viktoran.

The commandos were ill-prepared for the Force adept, as Vedic cleaved through them while they were preoccupied with Viktoran. After the majority of the Raven team was cleansed, Vedic waited for Viktoran to finish the commando captain before he beheaded the treacherous mercenary himself. Unopposed (and failing to detect the unconscious Argas), Vedic proceeded through the shell gates into the Vault itself.

Vedic waited for Vaen to arrive with the key into the Vault once he discovered that he could not cut through the permasteel door with his lightsaber, but when he tried to approach the hunter from behind, Argas' natural senses proved their worth. The hunter wheeled around to counter him, only for Vedic to immediately throttle him through the back of the Vault with a volley of Force Lightning. The barrage disabled most of the hunter's armor systems, and left Argas writhing on the floor ahead.

Vedic gathered the hunter's own rifle to slay him in 'artistic fashion', and it was then that the cyborg-ninja appeared once more. 'Salazar' fought Vedic away as Argas made his way to the docked Raven starship, and after a grueling contest the duo fled. An injured Vedic cursed Vaen and Salazar alike, but was content to have the spoils of the entire Vault to himself. He found more explosives in the repository, as well as an arsenal of weapons and gadgets.

The only problem was, he still didn't have a ship large enough to stash the arsenal he'd discovered - the Sprite-17 didn't even have an armory or cargo hold. Vedic needed a ship, and he would settle for nothing less than the best.

Notes: His 'affinity' for Force Bonds and telekinesis should not make him too powerful. I am looking to experiment with an independent Force-user, particularly of a more insidious and maligned nature, who will have a bit more volatile and straight-forward mindset. Revisions and updates will be made as necessary.

Weapons

Isaac Cael's Lightsaber
mylightsaber.jpg

Blade Color: Blue
Style: Crystal
This lightsaber was originally crafted by Isaac Cael, an aspiring Jedi whom abandoned the Order before Knighthood in order to pursue his own ambitions and study of the Force. When Isaac passed, the weapon was inherited by his son - to become a tool for more terrible aims than its creator ever imagined. Its design was heavily inspired by the craftwork of Dariim Varis' brother-blades, and lent the lightsaber well to a variety of combat styles.

The Cyborg's Lightsaber
qsarbitercg2t.jpg

Blade Color: Cyan
Style: Crystal
Crafted by one of the last, less-known students of Dariim Varis, this hilt was obviously inspired by the weapon-master's brother-blades. It featured a mechanism for adjusting the blade's length and intensity, making it keen and lethal against all but the most heavily-armored targets. Vedic acquired the blade after besting its original wielder, the cyborg-ninja.

'Hellas Rae' Vintage Slugthrower
555975boltokpistolsuper.jpg

Firepower: Very High
Rate of Fire: Double-action
Range: Short to Medium
Capacity: 6 Rounds
'Hellas Rae' was a legendary bounty hunter during the Alsakan days. Upon his retirement, he began a company dedicated to creating fine firearms for all aspiring soldiers-for-hire. 'Hellas Arms' lasted three years before being shut down by the Republic's internal affairs corps., due to Rae's mingling with Alsakan agitators; his weapons, particularly of the sidearm slugthrower variety, were much-sought weapons of quality. Vedic acquired this magnum from its previous owner, Argas Vaen, during a bout with Dariim Varis.

Update

Vedic has a new Attire, and certain characteristics have been modified as necessary. In keeping with a new theme of literary exposition vs. attributes and stat points, I have removed the Attributes and Force Powers sections. His History has been updated, and now brings him back up to date. I have also modified the font and text sizes across the board.

Thus begins the next long, dark chapter for the 'Prince of Vice and Decay'.

Added a bit to his History concerning the outcome of The Best Medicine.
Added the Cyborg's Lightsaber to his Equipment.
Added information concerning the Sprite-17 class shuttle that now serves as Vedic's personal Starship.
Revised the first paragraph of his Capabilities to reflect his new-found grasp and taste for Force Lightning.

Update

Vedic's History and Storyboard have been updated.

This update also introduces the Exaggerated 'Facts' about Vedic Cael, a list of outlandish comments and suggestions about Vedic's supposed awesomeness(icity). It's included as a joke. I might include 'character testimonials' or some-such as he begins to interact with other Player Characters.

Vedic is many (many) credits richer after the events of The Heist (not yet completed as of this update).

Minor update, a new 'Exaggerated Fact', and a small addition to both History and Capabilities.

Soon, Vedic will be my first endeavor with a character to extensively expand Force Power and personal ability through a number of adventures in the Tattered Veil. I may invite other PCs to join the fun.

Update

Vedic's Capabilities, Equipment, and History sections have been updated, as well as the list of storyboard threads.

The Weapons section has been moved to Post #2.

The Tattered Veil idea mentioned in the last update has been scrapped.

I'll probably add more Exaggerated 'Facts' soon.

I feel I need to point out that no one in the known Galaxy knows Vedic's real name, aside from his own mother - and she's God-knows-where in the pits of Shaddaa. He goes by his alias (Shade) everywhere. Queries into Shade's whereabouts would have originally guided one to Nar Shaddaa as his area of operations, but he has now used it frequently throughout the Galaxy; criminal circles at this point are aware of his presence, but only with this cognomen. If you've heard of him, Shade is the name you would have heard. :D

It seems like most of your characters have history almost exclusively with each other.

Noone else wants to role-play with him. So he plays with himself all day long.

Don't be a dick. His writing is just more fiction style writing than rping style. His latest open rp definitely got replies and it's probably more in depth than most of the rps on the Story Board.

I appreciate that.

Argas, Vedic and Salazar all have history almost exclusively with each-other because Argas' early open RP's fell apart (he's the oldest of my characters, mind you, as far as use goes). After that round of debacles (and I actually, you know, got back to the site), I ended up tying the three of them into a personal story involving Dariim that was going to bring Mikelus in - and a bevy of other people if they were interested.

The side story was put aside (lol punny) after that and I tried the indy faction with Argas that fell through (which, to be fair, was to be expected). 'Into the Pits' started as an open thread, but no one joined, so I simply proceeded with it myself.

S'vul's history is 'exclusive' with Argas because he was just introduced, and Argas is going to be the one to free him from practically being a slave.

Mikelus isn't 'exclusive' at all - he's a member of the Jedi Council. If it hadn't been for my first semester being an utter bitch, he would've trained Lyeric; and I was intending to have them do some adventuring together.

Vedic's the one character I'll say was never even intended to do a lot of interaction with other PC's - unless it was going to be an absolute bloody brawl. He's a Force-leecher, and at this point in his story he's becoming cripplingly addicted to Mist. He's not exactly the guy I intended to walk into a bar and go 'hai guyz can we has adventure togetherz?'

Vedic is my primary villain character, and he's going to play the villain in short order. Everything until now has been building him up for that.
