Cassanova, good job with that quick 'no fighting' intro in your thread there. Last time someone hosted an alliance Gala, she tried to kill 7+ Jedi, padawans, knights and masters, me being among one of those knights. It only didn't work cause she pulled it during the 'no battles' ceasefire between Jedi and Sith.

Gah, wish I had a Jedi/GA character to join this Gala with. And I doubt the Jedi higher ups would let one-armed Inanio out of his cell long enough to attend. Though that WOULD make the party infinitely more interesting, a one-armed Sith Lord attending with a Jedi Master/council member escort xD

True. With the exception of parties with Sith Lords (which seems ironic), all parties so far this timeline have been attacked. The earlier GA. The Imperial party at Citadel Station.

I think I might be interested in this.

You could go the evil route and use him to make Della cry. It's quite the sport! :D

Maybe it's because whenever the Sith Lords have a party everyone ends up too drunk or too stoned to try and kill somebody else? :p

Inanio with his whole 'all is nothyng' stoic, dead nature would probably make a lot of padawans and young knights cry, not just Della xD

I would argue that everyone is too terrified of what would happen if they did try to kill a bunch of sith. Jedi seem more forgiving...in comparison. ._.

There we go! THat's the spirit, BN! :DDDD

I suspect I'd just find it all terribly amusing and end up in hysterics while the others are all in tears :p Sounds like a party to me.

The Jedi are freaking OVERFLOWING in compassion compared to the Sith. We execute people if we just suspect them of treason and we don't care if an acolyte or two is killed by another.
Meeting with the Jedi council is a second chance, meeting with the Sith council is a death sentence.

A party indeed, my wonderful protégé :CSly

At least until they're taught to be a little less cliche and a little more understanding of the burdens of rule. They'll get the message eventually :)

Della - little amused we were both posting at the same time :p

Yeah, I had to make a few edits. XD

@ BN Not to mention all the leather and chains. I'm still not convinced there isn't anything kinky going in there...

@Teynara
Exactly.
You know, it the Jedi adopted a more Sithy approach to council meetings then they'd have ALOT less people asking to meet with the council for petty things xD(literally, the Sith council OOC request thread specifically warns against coming to the council with useless information or wasting their time)

Sssshhhh, it's better if you don't think about it :CSly

Though I am curious now, would one arm, weaponless, and drugged(at least im assuming you're drugging him, as Revan was drugged during his time in a Sith prison) Inanio be allowed to attend the Gala. After all, his job is really to be an instructor, so perhaps he could answer questions, as well as ask a few of his own.

I think most of the Council threads are really just to make sure that they're all still breathing, and to give them some role in RP. In my experience, IC Councils are rarely utilised as much as they could/should be. After all, it was common for the Council to provide assignments directly, so why we don't have them doing short mission briefs with the Jedi face-to-face before a group set off for a mission is beyond me. It'd make it much more interesting.

We tend to cycle through members a bit. I like the recent efforts being made to actually nail down what the Jedi are and what is expected of them. Makes it a little less confusing, especially to newbies like myself.

soooo... Considering now half the people in the RP are expecting more speeches....

Anyone else wanna do one? xD

I had originally only planned for Juno to do the speech, and from then to just have casual social chit chat.

I wouldn't mind doing one, but I'd need some help/direction on what to talk about.

Hugs and kisses between the GA and the NJO, pretty much - thats the whole point of the event.

The Sith cycle through Sith Lords almost as much as the Jedi do, only difference over half of them either killed each other, fled, or we're killed by Weissykins :CHappy
Indeed, that is good that they're finally doing that. Well, I say finally, Brandon Rhea's Jedi council member tried to do that as well, but he, as head admin, didn't have the time or energy to lead the Jedi personally.

Again, a little help/direction on what to talk about (in more specifics). I know that's the point of the event, but I assume that the speakers present were chosen for their various expertise and the perspective they bring with them. So, basically, why she was 'chosen' as it were, and then what it might be assumed those who did the picking wanted her to talk about.

For example; focusing on the past relations between the two and comparing them with now, a declaration of what's going to be needed in order to survive the war, a morale booster, a more serious revelation, or an emotional story, etc.

Or I'm just overthinking it... :/

Well you just about nailed any/all possibilities that you could talk about. Pick one, i guess.
